Look around you; people like the update, and Nightfall will be a hit like the rest of their chapters. Even the criticized Factions received a ton of gamers. I don't really know what future you're talking of.

this is quite funny, boy am i glad i decided not to get nightfall and to think it was for the exact reason that anet dont know to leave things alone and brandish the nerf bat too often and for no good reason.
good call though anet, such a stupid nerf the day before nightfall so its too late for most to cancel.
basicly anet are going to ruin every single skill until both sides are bashing each other with sword and axes.
have they bought shares in blizzard cos they are making WoW seem so much more of an attractive option.
and to the pvp'ers getting smug, without the lure of pve there will be fewer and fewer pvp'ers and your side of the game will suffer too.

This would be nice, instead of a lvl 24 monster dropping a 10-15 sword or the like.
I really do hope that they are paying attention to the forums, most are not happy with the changes.
If it's enjoyable play, if not why bother. Waht part of that is not clear to Anet...........Duh! as my friends list has more inactive than active lately, have to see what this weekend brings. My guess is most won't be playing, gave up after factions.

I like the update. it won't do me any harm. I don't farm either, so I couldn't give less shit about all this AoE nerfing madness. but I care about the game and it's future, so I'm barely stating the obvious. if an update makes most people go apeshit about a certain change, if a update kills a certain aspect of the game, whether accidentally or intentionally - the company should take a hint and consider the possibility that they may have done something wrong.
and Factions was a bad example to give. it was criticized the shit out of, it introduced some of the worst gameplay changes ever and it definitely caused a LOT more controversy than the Prophecies campaign. I certainly hope that Nightfall will not make the same mistakes as Factions and will indeed be an improvement rather than a disappointment.

Quite frankly I'm glad you won't be getting Nightfall. Over 95% of the update was all buffs for skills and new features to make the game a more pleasurable experience for players and A-net makes a few changes in attempt to redirect the PvE experience to be less solo/duo farming based and more group based and people start crying apocolypse. I hope you find enjoyment elsewhere and never come back.

Well, of course some folks love this update. I couldn't care less for the farming aspect, it's still possible. I'm still doing it. All is fine in that department. But i'm seriously not too happy about the whole AOE Mess.
You know, previously you had the chance to escape the Leeroys by going with a guild team. There was proper aggro control and you could do the missions fast and efficient. However this update totally killed this aspect of the game. There is no such thing as strategy or aggro control anymore. Everything starts running sooner or later and that gets very very very annoying.
It doesn't matter anymore if you're playing with Leeroy Dumbkin or with your guildies - the result will be the same: Pure absolute chaos.
And yes, of course Leeroy will love this update simply because all other changes were good and the AOE Chance doesn't matter to him, he never knew how to play anyways. Now every team degrades into Leeroy and that is simply something i don't like.

You do realise that fewer ectos will be around which could lead to an increase in price. I hope you mean just playing FOW for normal people and not getting FOW armor because that is even harder to get for normal people now and that's the way Anet wanted it from the beginning I guess. But that's not my problem anymore. Welcome to the revolution.

my first and main character is a fire elementalist...more than 50% of the fire skills were already useless, when factions came out most of the fire ele skills were AOE over time wich i thought it was really stupid...no one wants the freakin mobs to scater. and now i really hope this is a bug, and if its not i hope ANet listens to our complains and fix this, because they just screwed most of the caster builds, and wtf now having a fire nucker is totaly useless?...have i been almost one year putting my time, effort and gold in a char and now ill have to erase it? Oo to nerf solo farming is one thing...to ruin and make some PvE builds that are not for solo farming completely useless is another thing...and one of the good things about the game was its balance between professions...so long to that...
i have lots of friends playing WoW and they adleast can have characters that make some potions, upgrades etc and thats a way of earning money, in GW we dont have that, and the most efective way of farming was solo farming, besides that the only service u could make to anyone was running...everyone have to be runners now? if my echo nucker is useless now cant i even farm in FOW? =|

well ima gonna have to make a warrior now. and use its "nuke" attack skills to kill stuff. and a cyclone axe just to get pressure off of me. right now nerfing the vengful rit and 55 monnk, how do they expect us to get money.?

I think the AoE change is gonna be great, The enemys shouldnt Scatter unless there close to dieing on u are, ok so it makes Farming that little bit harder and makes AoE finishing off skills harder, but It will make AoE way more effective in general. Finally You can Use Firestorm again to down a large chunk of hp again well untill the enemys gets low hp but thats what other skills are for, finishing them off.

From what i can see it already has made the same if not more mistakes than Factions. I can understand updates as new classes are comming out but I mean come on to totaly change the game play is uncalled for. If i wanted the gameplay so different I would go out and buy a different game. I liked the way the first Guild wars played then they go and change it. Looks llike all the chapters from here on out will head downhill IMHO.
