america has what like north america and south america in it? europe is all of europe its already unfair the way it is they should break up europe more then 25 countries that all actually have internet in there countries...unlike most of the countries in the "America"...as well most pve ppl have played pvp and A they either suck and give up getting owned over and over or B cant find a group cuz pros will never play with new timers

I still fail to see why my PvE experience is limited by a totally different aspect of the game. What the hell to PvP players care if their region has favour? - it doesnt even impact on PvP...
Im real damn sure that if some PvP aspects were only available when the region's PvE players had killed Lich/Shiro/Abaddon more than the others, then there would be a huge uproar from that community.
Ive nothing against PvP, i can see why alot of people like it but the the favour system needs to changed so that PvP doesnt have a strangle hold on high end instances OR add something in PvE that controls and aspect of PvP.

Actually, according to statistics, it's about fair between Europe and America. Here, I'll provide a link to illustrate my point:
http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm
This shows internet usage around the globe, separated by regions. Europe has 308,712,903 users, while North America + Latin America = 312,506,915 users. America actually has more users. It also has Asia as 394,872,213, but I'm betting that's including China, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, which are, of course, separated into different zones.
Of course, that's not an example of everyone who plays GW, which of course are a small, small percentage of that. Still, it shows who all could play.

Having access to the internet and playing GW are two completely different things. also....

We believe that a definition must be as general and as simple as possible. For analyzing and comparing Internet users on a global scale, IWS adopts as its benchmark a broad definition and defines an Internet User as anyone currently in capacity to use the Internet. In our opinion, there are only two requirements for a person to be considered an Internet User:
(1) The person must have available access to an Internet connection point, and
(2) The person must have the basic knowledge required to use web technology
|
so basically that site just shows the amount of people who can get to somewhere with a computer, not people who own a computer and an access key for GW. since the criteria is so lax, it also means that many (possibly millions) of the population numbers are merely people who can walk to an internet cafe. the numbers of people with a PC of their own (or their households) and internet connection would be much more useful as an argument.
usage stats by continent of GW would be nice, but just going on the guild ladder, it seems that regardless of skill, europe has the most statistical probability to hold favor. Anet does need to change this part of the game to make it fair for those of us not on the euro servers, especially since they say its a game of skill-not a game of having 60% of the pvp population giving your server access and having the rest of us without access to some of the more fun areas-especially once we've beaten the pve campaigns.

I loled. Sacarism is lost and wasted on you. I wont waste time on you then.
Anyways it would be nice if there was some official word/update other than the old "suck it up" response on this if this will be changed in the future. I asked the question in the Galie's Ask Anet a question thread, hopefully we will get a distinctive YES or NO so we can bury this until threadnomancy strikes again or someone starts a new "Xx__FAVOR__xX" thread.

Exactly. Which is why I think the numbers are even more skewed toward the Americas. Most people in North America own a PC, and most of those are online. I think that number for the Americas is made up mostly of people with personal connections, and not just access to a cafe, or whatever.
Europe would probably be just behind that, with the rate of PC w/connection increasing each year. They're quickly catching up. So I think that number is fairly viable, if not smaller. Asia, on the other hand, is probably mostly "cafe" users, with the exception of maybe Japan. Regardless, I think they should all be categorized and lumped into just "Asia", to be fair in numbers to Europe and America. Even that probably wouldn't be quite fair.
I'd say hands down, the America server is the largest conglomerate of users, and most likely the largest pool of players, as well. It's simply an unfair system, and it actually favors America. I say this, and I'm American!

Favour ? Hmmmm - don't get me started...(never been to FOW/UW and never will while current system remains).
Anyway, I remember over a year or so ago there being mass pve migrations to the US servers from Europe because the US had favour all the time.
So I guess you could do what many, many Europeans did and just move server ? Keep track of those server changes though..

I know, let's make it so that a region can't gain access to HA unless an Alliance from that region holds HzH or Cavalon. This way pvp and pve will become even more intertwined. Ya, that makes a lot of sense.
Anet demonstrated the same stupidity in designing their access for the elite missions in Factions as they did in designing the access for UW/FoW. Hopefully, they'll be able to come up with something better soon.
