Sigh... you are just... wrong.
Whole Tyria looks more like Noth America to me: From snow to deserts. From forrests to beaches... but...:
- The Rin/Ascalon area was once green and such, and the only part of the first chapter having romanic-like constructions.
- Shiverpeaks are more like the Everest area, there is not so much snow all the time in the alps. Most of the alps are green mountains with white tips, not snow wherever you look at. So much frost there must have magical origin, maybe a touch of Grenth.
- Krytan constructions look more like some precolombine southamerican to me than any in europe ever.
- Something like Maguuma can only be seen in tropical jungles, like those in Southamerica, India and such.
- Turkey is NOT a desert, most of it is green... ¬¬, and only a northern tip is european, all the rest is in minor asia. The crystal desert looks more like a 'lost civilization' are. More like Atlantis. Look at those resurrection shrines...
There are NO jungles or big deserts in europe. There are some desertized areas in Spain, but Europe is mainly mountain and forests.
- Cantha is NOT Japan and Asia, but more like Southeastern Asia and Northwestern Oceania (that includes japan). Asia is VERY big.
- Elona is clearly Africa and Middle East.
Well... here you are, the world:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World
If you look at it you'll se that we have a loot of places yet to see.
Not only in space, but in time.
Celtic
Nordic
Greek
Indian (I mean the real India)
Rusian
Central Asia
Caribbean
Polynesian
Australian
...
There are dwarves, there could alse be a land of elves closed to foreing people, but they open their barries to call for help... elves always look nice with victorian-like outfits...
There is a lot still to be seen.

All of you seem to be stuck in the mindframe that all of Guild Wars is soley based on past (and somewhat current) cultures.
Sure its a Fantasy game, but why must it be limited to all the Cultures we know about? Why not just make something never before seen, instead of relying on the known)
Why not take what we have now - and Merge it with something That is Fantasy even for the Current Guild Wars Universe?
Example: (And I am amking this up as I am typing) Introduce Mechanics. Mechanical foes, Mechanical Tools / weapons (Don't think "guns" or "robots" - thats just - off and decadent), - A Mechanical environment, resembling somewhat Sorrow's Furnace, Fire and Steal - or Cold and Steal due to the "northern Areas" concept.
As I said I am making this up as I go, But as for the environment, Maybe Say, a forest of Steal? Steal plains? Metalic Fauna and flora? And end of game mechanical pet? Crossbows? Surly this will bring forward the Elementists often neglected Air and Earth magic.
Heck, this thing writes itself, Its Different to the current GW universe, but not as far fetched as to sound compleatly stupid.
Who knows, I mean, we saw and know almost nothing of the char, They Praise fire as a god, it be dumb not to think they took smelting to another level.

I can see a chapter in Charr territory after the quests in the Realm of Torment.
Also, as said before, it does not have to be focused on an existing piece of land.
Oh, and you forgot the poles. Would be cool to play in a viking-like area and walk over massive plains of ice.

Well, technically plants don't bleed like humans do. So Fauna bleeding and having the same degen and whatnot as other more traditional creatures (wolves, lions, humanoids... dragons...) always seemed a bit odd to me. Of course, this being a fantasy world, there's a certain level of 'suspension of belief' or whatever it's called. So mechanical fauna could possibly bleed lol ^_^

Mechanical environment? You mean something similar to Magic: The Gathering's Mirrodin block?
Been there, done that. So please, NO.

Ya know, technically, if you define a continent as a large land mass, there's really only 2 continents, since, y'know, Tyria and Elona are connected...
But now I'm just being nitpicky...

....if so, then wait until C5 and you can have that oh-so-powerful-it-hurts Umezawa Jitte of your own (and yes, C5 will have to go back to Cantha JUST for the Jitte).

Hehe ... Nordic and Celtic would be so awsome.
Although I think there are mild Nordic and Celtic references in Prophecies, MILD ... key word; mild. Ascalonian armor is simply a reminder to me.
Keep in mind I'm not stating anything IS or ISN'T so nobody flame me for my simple opinion on visual appearances.
There are even Greek and Roman influances in Nightfall, particularly Vabbi, which, although is more strongly related to India, in terms of architechture, there are still some influences there. And Vabbian warrior armor .... that cannot be labelled Greek or Roman because, I see both when I look at the male/female sets.
But these are only influences, not the strong point and the true culture behind the GW civilizations.
I think a full out Noridic/Bardic world would be way too cool for GW.
I would love to see it.
I'm not a viking freak I swear.

Actually, the always forgotting Russia could be used. I swear i don't know anything about that country, even though it's huge.
It could be combined with sibiria with winter-alike areas.

Wasn't NF the end of the trilogy where C4 is going to be something very new (guess new world/plot)? That and in one of the interviews there "hints" about c4 in c3.
