Nope you're not the only one like that. before i bought GW 17 months ago, i had been playing Daggerfall great game, never got into elderscrolls after that. when i read and picked up GW the frst time it was like daggerfall only online. thats why i have close to 3500 hrs in game so much to do with-out the forced nature of things. now with the AI in the state that it is in, it truelly is more of a BORE-CHORE. its just isnt that thrilling any more. the AI before may have been more predictable and lame to some but atleast then they had some personality. now they are all the same what ever class they are. no more varitey to the AI.

you can also set a goal for youself like farmevery green in the game like i have
or like my firend get everytitle in the game which requires you to start a new character in presearing lol and then starting a new char to get survior then having to w8 a while for them to host a dragon festival

Same here. I did all the stuff needed in the other two chapters two (even Vizunah on a couple of characters). It isn't as noticeable if you are having fun. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if there was more variety.

Not expecting every mission to be completely new but a little variety is what I appreciate. Games should evolve. Using exploding kegs in North Shiverpeaks, teleporters in the Crystal Desert, going undercover and the wurms in Nightfall are good examples off the top of my head. Knowing the big update is coming also has me putting off doing anything overly important in case something big changes.

The reason I am posting is to voice my opinion and read the posts of others that can make a meaningful post. Guild Wars is probably the best game I have played so I don't want to see it turn into a game that I can't play.

Can we stick to posts pertaining to the posters' reasons for why they are/aren't bored so the thread can have more meaningful replies.

For those that are offering suggestions ...for me anyways:
1) I am not looking for suggestions to improve the game by making artificial restrictions etc. If you are honestly trying to help people ... thank you.

2) I only get to play about an hour a week if I am lucky because of college/work/family/friends so I am not burned out as that seems to be a popular hypothesis from some.
3) I warp around the game world and do different things all the time.
4) I want GW to be the best game it can be, and it almost was before.
5) I don't PvP as it is not my thing. I want story and quests and variety in everything.
6) I think reading a couple pages of this thread to get an idea of the opinions expressed is a good thing that will help keep this thread on track.

Thanks for the on-topic post. It appears that most of the trolls and flamers have been either banned or had their posts deleted.

For me, farming is what I used to do when I had done everything else. The inscription system and the new AI have taken the fun out of that. I didn't farm for money but rather for the thrill of getting an ultra-rare item with a 15^50 mod on it. Any item can have that now. I'm like you and don't care for PvP, and there's just nothing left to shoot for in PvE anymore. I farmed countless Storm Bows before finally getting one that was req.8 15^50 but now I can make any item 15^50. Req. is not important to me for an item I plan on using myself, not to mention the fact that everything is req.9 now.

YES ! Im bored as Hell.
I got nothing to do in this game more.

Not in PvE: just completed NF with 4 charracters - and its boring, everything is so predictable. Quests suck. No normal farming, chestrunning. No auction. Greedy people. With NF, GW PVE IS NOT MMORPG anymore. its single player RPG and is BAD single player RPG. If u want RPG go and play obvilion.

Not in PvP: Its really boring to run tha same builds over avd over. New NF skills ?
Guys, to tell the truth like 40% (may be more) of the skills are useless. The skills that r ok, will be nerfed through some time. HA ? - same situation. With heroes its like Q3 deathmatch 1 on 1. U really enjoy it like 30 mins of playing, not more.

) gave all money and treasures to guildmembers and uninstalled game. It's my final post here. cya all.

actually, I think the NF story is a good deal better done than Oblivion

I have completed NF three times so far, probably going to do it a 4th time. I know quite a lot of people who claim they are bored of grinding and how it was all better in the last MMO they played... until I ask them what was different there, and the answer usually is "mobs are stupid, its easier", at which point I am laughing

I think its impossible for a game to be both somewhat challenging, and also enjoyable for the masses

its kind of mutually exclusive.

Sounds like someones didnt get the toys they wanted. Auction house is a ways off, we'll have to be patient on that, but as to the other stuff, Id find farming boring. Just killing mobs for certain items that youre lucky to get a drop of? What about the other stuff they drop? Does that just get left? If I have room, and it looks like itll merch well, Ill pick up whatever I can. I cant understand how people who complain about "grind" will farm, when it seems to be almost the same thing.

We couldve also used more detail on why its boring, than what was given.

Hmm...I think it is important to reference something.

For one, there are 2 types of people on this thread. One of them is bored, and the other is angry. Maybe some are a combination of both, like I was. But usually it is not the case.

This is why I divided it this way. The first player is bored, because they acknowledge the lack of things to do. They desire more significant change, and are like me disinterested in this "double or triple bs" Anet throws at us.

The 2nd is angry. Why? Because they are complaining about AI. So, technically they still think they can be entertained, if a minor change was implemented (the melee AI reverted). This person is not bored, they know exactly what they want in order to be satisfied with this game.

The 3rd is both obviously, I think the post is pretty self explanatory though.

.Guys, I was on the brink of this stage, but ceartain forces held me back. I am not of course actively playing anymore, but I do check everyday and see if something will change. It will not...but its sorta like a little kid checking his mail-box everyday to see if his spankin new and jam packed comic book issue will come out. This comic book though does not say Guild Wars Repition of 1, 2 ,3 "Vengeance", it says "Guild Wars 2"

Yup, I'm definately belonging to the third category, too. Was bored fast, continued to play for the sake of my guild, now I'm both, bored and angry. I'm still not that far to delete my account (if I ever get that far I'll sell my stuff, if you leave and know you won't come back, you don't care about eulas anymore, too. At least you get some refund. But, to be honest, it takes much more to get me there ^^). I simply stopped playing, waiting for updates.

@Sidra I don't know if it's just me, but I found some irony in Zedd Kun's post. "Some have fun doing something, others don't do it. So nerf the funpart so that nobody has anything to enjoy anymore and all are equal then" ^^

Basically he is right. That's why many "fear" the ANetpatches, as they regularly nerf just everything that got to much players addicted to it.

I hate to say it but factions was better than nightfall!

Sure nightfall has a better story and stuff, but the missions are just plain boring! Were in factions they were fast and furious! Like Vizunah Square, i hate it but at the same time love it Its just a mad mission!

Nightfall has no replayability for me, there is just something missing from it, but i don't know what... bar the missions

to be honest GW is the only game i ever got into. since ~15 mounths i have 2500 hours loged in, and that while goin to school and working and having a social life. i have a character of every core class, and a baby dervish and rit waiting for their turns. of curse i have all that nice equipment and oh so many armors...

My ranger already completed NF and now, ive been taking my 2nd character through NF (my monk). the thing is that i loved it the first time, but the second time its just so dull and boring... i go there ONLY if the whole guild is doin something else and im bored. I dont know if i will be taking all my toons through it or no...

about all the changes:

AI change: to be honest, now while tanking or monking i get nothing but irritated because the monsters just run around like crazy. its not hard to kill them, being an experienced GW player i can easily protect my team or heal them as much as its needed. but its just irritating chasing monsters in circles!!! grrrr

also, a person that i used to spend 80% of my GW time with (we became good friends, maby even more), is rage quitting GW because of that AI change. i dont know how much longuer till i get completely bored with GW

-i never liked solo farming (i farm, but in company)
-since chest nurf its not worth as much to go on chest runs cuz i already got 10 purple wands in a row
-HA is ruined
-AB are getting boring after more then 30 mins

honestly, if i didnt have such awsome guildies i wouldnt be playing anymore

Well, given her penchant (not even calling her out this time, that's a record for me) of only replying to minor issues that don't tend to flame Arenanet so much, or light fluffy threads saying "woo! have my babies!" I really don't think she'll touch this. Anything she says would probably either:

A. Cause mass rage-quitting because she says something that sets it TOO straight for some of us, and we just don't like it.

B. Causs weird, mass-speculations on the future of GW games and whether or not to keep playing the series

C. Please people.
