It's different, yet still doable. Some foes are even easier. Avicara north of Droks for example are very easy now. Djinn in Elona are fairly easy as well. It's just knowing how to exploit the new AIs flee based thinking. -- still doesn't make it as fun as it used to be though... /bored

About the death of Multiplayer, for those who don't play the "desired" classes or builds in PVE, Multiplayer was dead long long time ago...

Once in Prophecie, we didn't have a Warrior, and I was playing a Ranger/W with sword. One of the group ragequitted because we were giving a try. Well, we beat it without Warrior... Another time, another ragequit because we were taking 2 monks Hench, tired to wait hours for a monk to join... We still beat it... I almost entirely did Faction solo with my Assassin. Why? Bet... I was only invited because of the special celestial power of Raisu palace and Imperial sanctum. I don't even talk about the mesmers in Prophecie...

So the "hero problem", it's us players who are responsible for this... Good thing? Bad thing? I can't say...

Exactly what my point is too. It was always like this: log into my account, pick a toon and then decide what to do, pvp or pve. That Question is obsolete now. If you want to play pve and pvp on a competetive level, the game is strictly divided now. They have nothing to do with each other.

So, the question "do I wan t to pvp with my toon"? is now gone.

What was the next question?
"Shall I go and pay PvE a visit and farm a bit? Maybe I find something one of my toons needs for pvp, like that zealous mod I'm searching for almost 5 months now!"

That question is now obsolete, too.

Don't understand me wrong, nightfall is a nice campaign, it's maybe a copy of the other campaigns, but a copy that is, questwise, better than the originals. But I lost the two major funparts, that granted me a interesting and funny endgame. And in my guild all think the same.

My fear is, that if the game proceeds this way, it will lose customers and if too many are lost, the game will come to it's end. That's what nobody wants in here. Nobody in this thread is just complaining. Everybody is just pointing out what they are missing. And no matter what content gets added, it will benefit every player. Every choice you have to fill your endgame is positive. That's why I don't understand why people come here religiously defending their "perfect and precious game that has not to be touched".

I agree with Hyunsai! Blaming the Heroes, or even the PUGs themselves for the quality of a community you are supposed to be a part of reeks of a lack of personal accountability. If you are ranting that PUGs all suck and Heroes are the only answer, then that means that you are not trying to improve the situation...Think of it from this angle if it helps: If you joing a PUG, then you can be sure that there is at least one good player in that group...that is unless you don't consider yourself a good player...

I have to agree. If you wanted to PUG missions and quests it was extremely diffucult if you were doing anything a little non-standard. It wasn't simply a matter of wanting someone of a particular class (warrior, necro...) but wanting people of a certain class to play a certain build. I've been not allowed in groups because I was running a w/n instead of a w/mon. One of the biggest misconceptions is that to complete missions successfully you require certain build (we won't go till we get and mm..etc). There are certain missions (gates of madness) that require a more particular type of skills, but there is a lot of room for flexibility even there. I'm fortunate to be in a guild where I can be free to roll up whatever and do pve with people, but if you're forced to pug it can be very annoying. What hero's did was allow people who would otherwise have trouble getting pugs (assassins, mesmers etc..) to be able plow ahead on there own with greater success than having a bunch of hench.

The bad part is that it didn't only aid these people, but nearly everyone has simply ignored player interaction, which really is a lot of fun. You can do this entire game without every talking to anyone.

The other thing, like many others have said, is that there really isn't much in the way of new game content. Nightfall is the basic guildwars game at its best, but its still the same basic guildwars game. Run here talk to x, kill some stuff, run back talk to y and so on. There needs to me more new additions, more wurm like things, more mission styles, more ways to interact with the basic game environment.

PvP is very different. There are new skills new builds new maps plus more strategy and human intereaction. Like Magic the gathering, which keeps successfully running on the same basic formula, GW PvP has the potential to retain interest with proper support. Of course as mentioned, most people aren't into pvp. In magic i believe the ratio of causal player/competative player is similar to GW's pve/pvp. but the disanaology is that casual magic players are doing the same basic thing as competative players while pve players are not doing the same basic thing as pvp players. So in magic they can keep churning out new sets with the same basic game structure and retain the interest of both groups. In GW this is not the case. Something a little more fresh is required on the PvE side to sustain interest over time.

I think the whole Guild Wars Formula is stretched out too far. I mean, every new chapters you get two new character classes and aboutn 300+ new skills (really 100 new one while the rest has new icon). As for getting group, i agree that it's harder to get a group going on. I see less peoples asking for "LFG" message in different towns. I mean, it easier to use level 20 heroes plus couple henchies to get the job done.

The whole formula of going from point A to B and killing things in between, not to mention going to Point C for your reward is boring for some. There also the grind factor in which you need 2500 Sunspear Points in order to move on in the game.

-_- well ill admit i skipped 10 pages...but i dont really see how you can get bored.
I have over 1400 hrs played in 12 months. I do not farm, GvG,TA or HoH, I rarely RA...and I have more stuff to do than I ever will.
I need to beat factions/proph for the 3rd time on my necro
need to beat nf still for the first time on my smiter
I need to do more AB cause its so much fun
I need to max out my material storage just for the hell of it
I need to get more gold cause 720k isnt enough
I need to get weps and insignias for all my heros, I need to lvl my heros
I need to help out the 1 other active person in my guild
i need to unlock items/skills by using faction or ID kits, or buying them
I need to lvl my elementalist, I still need to beat all 3 games on my elementalist
I need to come up with better, brighter, new builds for my W/r and W/e, and thats just the stuff I can think of right now, im sure im missing more.

all this from a guy with a crappy inactive guild (that i lead), and that doesnt do most of the pvp, and that doesnt farm. (hell, i have 720k and i still use 1.5k armor and collector weps).
so...how are you bored? -_- take some time and enjoy the game

Yes, I was bored when I began my Dervish in Elona because I don't like the tutorial. I don't like the fact that I was nearly level 20 when I got out of the tut.

The game just rocks, I gained new fun by playing my Dervish. But I miss the easy 55hp farming my money in the storage dropped to like 1p

I hate to say this, but FARMING IS EASIER IN NF!

1. Bring hench+hero
2. Kill everything around Boss X
3. Send hench heroes WAY far away
4. Solo boss
5. Sell Green
6.Dance naked in Kamadan

Did this before NF release and after - Tombs greens make for nice Hero equipment. Friends and I even went back to factions to get some decent drops, items or gold.

Funny thing was, it was fun. We filled out our party with heroes to, Factions mobs didn't stand a chance.

I do find it a bit amusing that Prophecies seems to get some of us back, and for myself I find it enjoyable everytime.

I agree, there needs to be more variety in the quests/world. I have all three chapters. Prophecies was great. For me Factions was ok (I got to create a Sin which is a primary character I play now, second to my Mes) and I held out hope that the Proph team would do good with Nightfall after I picked up the PC Gamer article. I think Nightfall is the best of the three but it is still 90% the same at it's core (in PVE).

It is kinda frustrating to have problems/annoyances from chapter 1 still around (the usual auction house/grouping/storage/characters falling through bridges etc) I am going to wait for the big update that is supposed to happen soon although I am not too sure on how I feel it is implemented. I didn't join forums for a long time so as a usual customer I would have thought that the Elite mission is missing.

I am kinda on the fence at the moment. I love the GW universe but still expect games to evolve. Another favorite of mine is Splinter Cell. Compare the first one to the current one (only one I haven't played) .. wow. Hope Anet can still amaze me as they have done in the past. I still take screenshots whenever I am out exploring.

At least Aion is a NC Soft game.

im sorry but this is not farming.. its an exploit.

you get a full group in town.. you are just fighting with a full group. not farming.

and the heros that are giving you help are intitled to take a share of the drops... but you sending them away after getting your use of them is explioting a flaw in the drop system. they should get drops if they help... its that simple.

trust me dude that will be fixed..

and everyone farms greens so its almost pointless seeings how they will be hard to sell at 5k per soon...

sorry but if you think that is farming your very mistaken.

its creative ya.. but nontheless an expliot that if overused could result in a ban from gw.

for his own good.. that is not farming.. its and expliot and i would recomend not using it.

You hit the nail on the head. The reason I think Nightfall is so much less replayable than Prophecies is because it is so much less social. I admit I miss when there would be randon dance parties in town, waiting in ToA and dancing for favor, guild hall parties where we stocked up on dwarven ale and got drunk. My guild has remained fairly social, we still do the parties in the hall, but we hardly quest together. With heroes there is an improved way to get through the game if there is a shortage of people, but now most people decide heroes are better than actuall players getting away from the idea that guild wars is after all a MMO. Bring back the social aspects of the game Anet, anything like useless areas to fish or cook or random areas where you can spend money on games, dont just do them for events, make them permanent areas to the game. The game is always the most social when there is a large special event.

Yes am i bored, with PvE that is. It's strange because i think the NF PvE is the best out of the 3. I don't know what it is, maybe boredom, maybe the lack of elite skills worth capping. But i think the main reason is that PvP chars are equal to PvE ones. Before i took my PvE chars through both campaigns to cap elites, get armor, etc. Now i don't feel that pressure anymore, i can take my time to go through missions. Maybe i'll beat the game with all my characters, but i highly doubt it.

Anybody notice that there aren't any towns that are just towns? (for me, yet, barely into vabbi anyway). They all turn into missions or something of the sort. You don't do anything to have fun or just to hang out or explore anymore, you do it to progress. Then you get to the end (and I'm speculating) it's like... "uh... why the hell did you push me through if all I got was this?"

There isn't much uniqueness, not too much novelty in Nightfall. It probably won't be a very well-remembered chapter, if you don't count the AI update that came with it.

*sigh* I'm not going to say quite complaining im not going to go on some mad tirade, when sadly I sometimes find myself bored and aggravated, but then again, I'm stuck at the gates if madness >.< Anyway if I remember people were screaming out for a better storyline, we got it. Now the gameplay is zomg super awesome, and that is now what we want, I guess you can't please everyone.. But honestly I'm still happy, I can still farm, and when I'm frustrated I hop in my wurm and smash stuff. XD destructive personality ftw. Well thanks Anet for a great game that, even with shortcomings, fills out for me, and good luck with pleasing everyone.
