I will be buying.

I could care less if you buy it or not. I suspect most other people don't really care who else on this forum is buying it or not.

The Problem is not with whatever the OP said.

The OP Really should go find a guild and get outside his cacooon. I started to feel somewhat disappointed after my first shot through the game but with the recent upgrades (DOA) im glad i did that. The place requires so much thinking, any ordinary RS/WOW/MMO player would have alot of difficulty playing it.

Alot of people complain about a grind in the game. Lets get this straight-

THERE IS NO GRIND

The only grind that exists is the grind you want to do. Remember the game may have some expensive things but ANET has tackled that for people that dont want to farm money and all.

Oh and btw: You not buying the next chapter wont affect diffusion.

Remember those things called collectors?

In the end, Yes i will buy the next chapter as guildwars is probably one of the best MMO's ive played due to its strategic thoughtset aswell. Sure Guildwars should work on its replayability, But at the moment its not that bad. I believe its just the OP hasnt grasped the concept of the game. But he/she is entitled to their thoughts

I played Diablo 2 for many years and that all went to hell. I love the new stuff the Guildwars has and it keeps me wanting more and more. I love the hero conept(exp how you get Rit hero..) and i not really inpressed with some of the new items, but i will keep playing Guildwars for a long time. So i will but the CE for the next expansion, can't wait to see what they come out with next.

Probably will, but that is a longs ways off, just have to see if NF can hold
my interest, which is starting to waver, I like the new things in NF but
it is starting to get repetitive, like someone mentioned earlier, the thought
of pushing 9 toons thru the game and get enough stuff to put on all the
hereos is kind depressing, seems like you are kind of forced to pick a toon
and build those up.

My biggest disappointment so far, is I have completed the game with 3 toons
and have not gotten one green drop, and only one decent gold drop, which
is a perfect defender shield which is a Prophecies item, but it matches my
cape perfectly so that was cool!!!!!

just have fun and say hi..........

It's too bad that Anet has chosen to depart from the formula that initally made the PvE side of the game such a success. Low lag, doable missions or quests, and lack of "grinding" was what attracted many to Prophecies. As one progressed through the game and leveled their character, each area presented the appropriate challenge for the average player. As would be expected, some players found ways to "exploit" the game while others tried to "shortcut" it. In both instances there came cries of the game being "too easy" on the one hand and "too hard" on the other.

Unfortunately, both Factions and Nightfall (which in themselves had great potential to carry on the original forumla) fell victim to Anet's attempt to "correct" perceived problems. Factions introduced fast leveling, a push towards PvP (with faction points and alliances), and the attempts to thwart exploits. As a result it also introduced more lag, a much greater degree of difficulty for the average player, grinding, and a total failure to stop exploits. It also did little to enhance the PvP portion of the game. Nightfall, it appears, has been given over to those that are the "hardcore" GW players (many of whom are the very exploiters that Anet tries so hard to thwart). It has tremendously increased lag (for a great many if you monitor chat much), become far too difficult for the average player, and introduced "grinding" as part of the game.

What Anet must realize is that fansite forums, especially this one, does not necessarily represent the vast number of average players. In fact, this fansite is actually responsible for promoting many of the "ills' that Anet seemingly wishes to correct. Many, if not most, exploits have their beginnings these very forums. It is not difficult to read about how "easy" it is to circumvent any part of the game, by the "regular" posters in these forums. In fact, there is a great deal of "bragging rights" obtained through announcing how one has found some way too gain an unfair avantage over other players through exploiting some aspect of the game. In many cases, these are the same players that complain about how the game is too easy!

Anet should make every attempt to return the game to it's original formula. Attempting to stop exploiters and cater to the "hardcore" GW players has only made the game far less enjoyable for most players. There are still those that are exploiting portions of the game, and the "hardcore" GW players are still not placated. Nightfall is an exercise in frustration for the average player. Rather than rely on fansite forums, have the GM's monitor chat and even engage in some dialog with players. I'm sure they would find that many long time GW players are sorely disappointed with the state of the game. Please, make the game"doable" for the average player, minimize the grinding, and make GW fun again.

I'll be buying it, and enjoying the new PVP styles to come with Chapter 4. As for people who can't handle the Nightfall PVE with heroes, I don't know what to say, I've beaten every mission in the game (gotten masters on most) with just myself and heroes.

It is a bit early for me to say - leaning towards yes, however that could change.

The problem lately has been most of my fun playing is coming from Prophecies - friends doing FoW, Tombs, etc. Also have been doing SF runs with a friend and heroes - 3 things with the SF runs, 1 after all is said and done 2-3k gold, 2 possible greens( nice to equip heroes), 3 and this is what matters most - IT IS FUN! Go figure, need gold for whatever go to prophecies or factions.

The thing with NF is that I am having trouble getting motivated to bring chars through the game - seems like a chore sometimes. I have been enjoying the new area, mostly because of teams I have been lucky to be on. That has motivated me a bit more.

So, we will see when chap 4 is set to come out where I'm at.

Unless something major happens to encourage teamplay again (in PvE, I don't care for PvP) then quite probably not. I can find plenty of other single player games and probably some better ones in future. Guild Wars co-op/multiplayer is looking more and more a thing of the past. I don't buy a multiplayer game just to play with bots.

I will most likely buy Chp 4. A 'last chance' purchase. Chp 5? Most likely not, but that all depends on Chp 4.

Bravo!!! Agree completely!!! NOT SURE....I have to buy 4 if I do (my husband,2 grandsons, myself). We have all completed Prophecies except the Titian quests, Factions I didn't like how they tried to make you familar with PVP aspect of it...(we have NO DISIRE to PvP)....enjoyed both chapters, but will never see the "True End" part of either one.We play for fun,but the end games are just to hard! I get so tired of reading.....I DID IT WITH HERO'S OR HENCHIES ...(bravo to you). Sorry but we have a life and WE ARE THE AVERAGE PLAYER! We are enjoying NF but the end game part we know we will never see,not because we won't try it, but the average player can't make it "doable" but for the reasoning as stated by the quote above.Thank you Pro-Monk for stateing alot of people's sentiments so precisely.

I will most likely buy chapter 4. I thoroughly enjoyed chapters 1 and 2 despite a few shortcomings, and now that my copy of chapter 3 has arrived I'll be running through it and seeing what new adventures lie in wait.

I for one am glad that things have changed in GW since the beginning. I would hate it if exactly the same formula was used every time, otherwise it would just be the same game dressed up a little differently. As the game evolves, I've found that it's become much more interesting and rewarding to play.

Will I buy Chapter 4? As is now, nope. AI issues and moving to slowly to add and address problems is the reason. Can't justify spending money on entertainment that I find un-entertaining... just makes no since to me.

If the majority of issues (one's I personally think should be addressed*) then yes I will pick up Chapter 4 on the limit it doesn't pull another SWG (or Nightfall) and change the entire game play mechanic on release day.

*Before someone tries to "defend" Anet on my personal issues; it's not as bad as it sounds. Anet provides a platform for entertainment, much like a satelite provider (both are purchased for entertainment). If the satelite provider changes the line up or formatting and I no longer enjoy it; I'll find another source of entertainment. If they, however, revert to what I was enjoying then I will stick with them. - In no way am I saying that Anet should simply change the game to fit my needs. I'm simply stating that because of changes to the game Anet and I no longer "mesh" as customer/provider or gamer/developer.

Dunno yet if I will buy the next chapter. I agree with many of the reasons posted here as to why I may not.

Just seems like Anet does listen about some things and totally ignores others. Storage is a huge issue. And what about an AUCTION HOUSE for goodness sake. Don't I remember players waiting it BEFORE Factiions and Anet said they were "working" on it? Instead of an auction House we got a Chat Filter instead. GG.

AI is another problem. I cannot believe the AI's behavior sometimes. This crap of monsters seeing me and attacking me before I am even remotely close is a complete joke. Isn't that what the aggro bubble on the radar is for? So I can avoid a fight if I choose? How about them NEVER breaking aggro and chasing me all over the map? How about if I turn to attack them the caster takes of running and NEVER stops? Don't believe me? Go try to explore the Shiverpeaks and see how those Birdmen act now. Capping Elites there makes baby jesus cry.

There are more issues but most seem to be that Anet does not tap the full potential of the game. Factions was a HUGE HUGE disappointment for me. There was no reason for me to farm faction and moving the line gained NOTHING for either side.

I like a lot about NF but it still has issues.

nope.

well i should say maybe.

if the game gets the update it needs to stop all the stuttering/freezing/two step lagging.

then possibly, maybe.

but i still seriuosly doubt it.

-edit-

man did Pro-Monk completely nail it on the head. so f'in true.
