I'll be happy to finally get a chance to try this tonight. I've been at work the last two nights and haven't been able to log in to try it. Should be entertaining.

Im reading some of these posts and I am eerily reminded of when Anet opened the elite mission in factions a while ago.
Heres a direct quote not from 1 person, but from several:
"All you people dont belong here. You all should leave"
"Only the owners and Alliance members should be here"
"You guys are smelling up the place with your noobish smells"
I love the challenge, and I WISH I could to The DEEP or URGOZ. But some people are so STUCKUP.
I am a Veteran player, But I am not an ELITE player. ANYONE who calls themselves ELITE should leave this game and take their ATTITUDES with them.
Earlier today I was asked to join a group and I did. My character was a Ele/Mesmer and the first question I was asked was did I have SF (searing Flames). While I was being asked, I spammed my build and said I could load Mantra frost, flame or lightning, whichever was needed. My point here is that I didnt answer his question fast enough because no sooner did I spamm my build, I was kicked from party and the party leader placed me on ignore before I could even say anything to him.
As for DOA, I have cleared the City, and the Stygian area. Were they hard....yes very. Was it a hand picked "SPECIAL" or "ELITE" only group...no, not even close. It was made up of regular players like myself, spurr of the moment. DOA takes patience, and determination, nothing more. If you are in a party, dont up and leave if you die..MANY times I have gone thru area with 30 to 45 DP and still come out ahead. This game is not only about killing the bad guys, its about you dying also.
If you think you are ELITE, then goto the deep or Urgoz and bury your head under the rocks with the other jerks because we (the Majority) dont want you.

Give it time and multiple MULTIPLE builds will develope, and make it to where ANYONE can play and win at this. But until then, i enjoy the challenge, and the variablilty of it. Everytime you enter an area, it's never the exact same, therefore cookie cutter builds will not work every time. Like with how droks running used to be, where there was always one area that could trip you up if you didn't get the right spawns. Don't blame ANet for your loss in this area. It was designed to be difficult, and you SHOULD have trouble in it. It was MEANT to be a challenge, and if you cannot have fun trying to figure out something that works with what you use, then don't do it, and go back to farming, or whatever it is that gives you a sense of satisfaction.
|
Agreed... Besides, half the game use to be harder. I believe they've appeased the masses enough with the easy missions/explorable area's. Us players that actually like a challenge need more places to go.

It's a departure from the rest of Guild Wars as far as difficulty. is that a good thing is what people are arguing about.. I don't think so.. I've like Guild wars how it's always been... if you want a challenge I don't see why players should get one area.. instead go to a different game and keep the majority happy.
Maybe when I wake up there well be some screens of the new weapons... if someone got 100 gems that is.
(sorry for spelling I'm tired.. well and a bad speller.)

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I would smack the guy if I knew him. The idea that you deserve to be kicked and ignored because you don't have an elite on your skill bar is the most unspeakable faggotry I've ever heard.
I'm starting to hate searing flames. It's become the end-all be-all elementalist skill. Maybe it deserves to be nerfed, it seems like it's destroying the credibility of the class.

Then you're in the wrong guild, or hang with the wrong people. The group I farm with will take just about any class, just for fun. The fact is, each class will have a build that will allow them to be successful down there. Yeah, maybe they're not as fast as the perfect group, but they're usually more fun.
Your comments are valid if all you do is PUG's. It's always tough to get into groups as mesmers, Sins, dervishes. Used to be rangers had the same problem. DoA is no different, and PUGs in their stupidity will always discriminate against anything that goes against their gospel (wiki).

[skill=text]Practiced Stance[/skill]/[skill=text]Choking Gas[/skill]!
Take 2 of these Rangers, and the AI Casters, who often clump up, can't do anything. Period. Who cares about 400 Invoke Lightning if they can't do anything about them?
Then just take a Curses Necro or Mesmer to sedate the Melee and Rangers.
Of course, it doesn't work in the Touch Necro area, but you get the point.
Hehe. Now I just have to find someone willing to confirm...sigh. Everyone is running that stupid Mantra of Frost build. I really need to get my Ranger through NF.

What? When was Sorrow's Furnace ever even close to impossible? I don't recall ever feeling the same way I do about Domain of Anguish, or Deep or Urgoz. I don't ever recall anybody else complaining about it in game then either.
I was the worst monk EVER when they released SF and I still just don't remember what you speak of.

First of all, you know that long bar on your keyboard? It's called a space bar. They put it on the keyboard for a reason, you should try it out more often.
Second, if finding groups as certain classes is really going to be that hard, you've got several solutions. 1) don't play that class 2) start your own group, I'll bet there'll be more people willing to go along than you'd think, Mr. Bitter McJaded or 3) stfu and go do something else.
I dunno what all of these people are complaining about not being able to find groups. I'm not even looking for groups, and I see things being spammed in towns "GLF mesmer", "GLF rit spirit spammer". And like I said, if you don't see these people, start your own group and quit complaining.
Third, why are you blaming Anet for this anyway? They created something entirely doable, and each class has something to bring to the table for every single one of the areas you mentioned. Just because the masses of the Guild Wars playing community choose to come up with a specific build requiring specific classes, and choose not to think outside of the box doesn't mean that Anet's responsible for it. Blame the people that play the game for being close-minded idiots, Anet didn't force them to be that way.

I don't want to argue wheter it's too hard or not, but I'd like to share a nasty feeling I'm having about the way GW is going: I feel like Devs are running out of ideas for amusing things, so they just pick up the easiest way: make things harder. I'm really fed up with the fact that Nightfall involves farming for things that make a difference (f.e. lightbringer points), and I'm kinda scared next chapter is going to be too MMORPG-chore-grind like, with end-area full of 30 lvl mobs with 40 lvl bosses and sick enviromental effects.
I'd change 2 things about DoA - Razah (he's a hero without a counterpart, and a Factions proffesion, so people w/o factions won't get much of him - he should be obtainable in a fairly easy way for pve, like other heroes) and increased party size. More slots = more possible combinations and... we already have 10 proffesions. DoA per se requires more than one healer, and we clearly know some profs are more desirable than others, which makes too many people left out.
Actuallly, I'd change some of the effects to more rational ones too.

so where is the paragon, ranger, warrior, dervish ?
On top of that you in essence have 3 monks seeing as the rit was shelterspammer (extra protectmonk), you got a real monk and then another hero monk, which showed that they needed another one but couldn't even get a second one...
Really don't you consider it remotely asinine that this build doesn't even contain even one NF class for an NF zone...
