3 I never said I would buy them or even want them. But some people will and do. So why should a very small group of people have the ability to rip others off.

Actually, I think that's a great idea. After trying balanced / trapper / barrage-pet with varying degrees of success, I think that balanced where everyone has Lightbringer 3+ is the best way to go for PUG.
Another possibility is a 600 monk with 2 support monks overlapping spirit bond to tank, and a balanced team to support?

Yes, that does seem rather ironic, that we had no D or P in our team, even though this is NightFall elite mission
The only reason for not bring P though, was because of Vocal Minority in those Margonite areas. In Stygian, we did bring a P actually, and got pretty far.
....only to face a wipe from a very badly positioning.
But we're getting the hang of it, it seems perfectly doable

Enrage need to be removed completely. I got hit for 320 from an Invoke Lightning, another party member got hit for 420.
I think an active Prot Spirit is necessary.

After killing the boss, there is a chest that each team member can get gem from it.
Our build:
Assasin (Shadow form tank)
Rt (Soul Twister+ Shelter)
2Mo (WoH and Divert hexes)
Me (Spiritual pain, surge, mistrust, interupt)

Razah is not an special hero.
Is not worth 4 of those gems.
You can unlok it in PvP just by 6000 faction.
Acquistion of a ritualist hero shoud have been in Factions like the assain, another mesmer should have been in Prophecies, next chapter shoud have one of each of it sprofessions and Razah should have been really a Varaible Hero.
At the end those gems would be sold by 100k+some ectos and there will be farming parties in the area provinding gems to others, thus getting insanelly amounts of cash, and that will get harder/nerfed due to that.

I said in an earlier post that it looks doable, as are all other quests & missions in game.
What I'm finding amusing is Anets take on farming/selling of late. And now they introduce a 4 part quest to just be able to do a quest to get a hero that requires 1 of each new gem. I won't even discuss the new weapon skins.
Since I haven't read or heard about any new greens coming out of this yet, I'd be guessing to say there will be any. I can imagine the asking price for so & so's X weapon = 100k + 100+ ecto.
To not be your average player, have countless hours to play, ignore the "you've been playing for X# of hours: please take a break" message - sleeping, eating and actually using a toilet instead of an empty bottle, not running on whatever your choice of stimulant is,- I believe what this message is intended for. This is the reward for putting up with sub-standard gameplay for the last little while - meant for the avg player.
I suppose we will see how empty the "Gate of Anguish" becomes in a couple of weeks - read Urgoz and the Deep. The problem with this one is that it probably matters to more ppl than the factions elites, if so Anet will lose more than it gains.
Here is to hoping that "Every" class in GWs is able to get through this.
Time will tell.
Anyway - working on getting necro , tank, ele, & Rt through NF. Ranger already through, and have tried the Domain - need good group.

I am curious why save till after you are finished with the game.I like to use heroes to go thru the whole game.The fun part is from start to finish.Afterwards I just putter around.Unless by unlocking allows your chrs who havent finished the game to be able to use.
I do want to knock out the elite just for GP but it would be disappointing if other chrs cant use the Rit in the course of the game....oh well

I love how noocoo, who we can probably safely acknowledge is one of the first few groups to finish this area used an assassin, a ritualist, a mesmer, and a monk hero, all in the same party. Honestly, that negates roughly 50% of the complaints in this thread, it's truly poetic.

55 R/E, 16 (12+3+1) Wilderniss Survival, 12 Earth Magic
Obsidian Flesh [Elite], Quickening Zephyr, Serpent's Quickness (maybe add some random earth spells for extra damage)
Smiting Mo/X, 14 (11+3) Smiting Prayers, 14 (10+3+1) Protection Prayers, 13 Divine Favor (10+3)
Shield of Absorption, Protective Spirit, Blessed Aura (add smiting skills of your preference, and maybe Spirit Bond if you want to)
No, I haven't tried, no, I have no idea if this will work. You can't be targeted by spells and you take 0 damage at all times though, can't really go wrong, right?

What i have seen in this thread is a lot of people arguieing about it, and also a lot of people who have offered hints on how to complete it. I don't take that as 99% of Guildwars (like someone stated) or very very very few. It's actually a lot if you count it up to the whole GW population (you know, it'S just a minority posting here or in other boards).
Fact is, you don't have the numbers and i do neither. Only A-Net has and if it's really just 99%, they will change it.

The market is dictated by sellers and BUYERS. No one is ripping you off, no one forces you to buy it. Just as with the FOW, you can earn it yourself. The stats are not better than anything else, you don't need, but you want it now and you don'T care how.

9 in Wilderness Survival is enough to keep Obsidian Flesh active for as long as you wish, i posted it somewhere earlier and others made builds out of it. You don't need QZ in that (unless it's for something i overlooked ^^).
A problem though i could see is, the enemies use interrupts and the warriors even knockdowns. Probably a hard time to get your OF through.

How would you do that? You need 16 Wilderness Survival and QZ to keep Serpent's Quickness on non-stop, which you'll need non-stop to keep Obsidian Flesh up.
And I haven't really looked at the skills, so I guess you're right. Knockdowns can be fully countered with Ward of Stability (which can be maintained with Serpent's Quickness), but interupts would indeed own you.
It'd be a shame though, Sliver Armor + AoE smite would own.

I think this is Anet's answer to a dead economy...if there are new greens, for a long time they will probably go for 100k + ectos...a bunch of gems will also be more expensive than ecto probably....up until yesterday there was nothing in this game save for crystallines and a few other tank weapons that were even worth a lot...so I can't complain about new expensive weapons.
