As far as I'm aware, any minions will remain under control as the character itself does not disconnect until the 10 minute reconnect period expires.

Yay!!!! I hate leaving people partway through a mission. And I especially hate them not knowing why (I don't ragequit, even when the PUG is hopeless). If it works it will be a huge improvement and congratulations to the aNet team for figuring out how to do it.

Wait soo....my character just stands there, and my party receives a notice that I've disconncted...
Thats kind of interesting.
And I'm so going to be dancing naked in-front of the disconnectee when they return....

This is nice, Wintersday for general fun and goofy times and friends will be back for this .
Reconnects, now this will make DoA much less frustrating - killer losing 1 sometimes. Oh yeah, party will be able to tell if person was err7'd or just dropped out - helps with the ignore list.
3 million sold, nice and gratz. Guess chapter 4 is pretty much guranteed now I do love this game - a bit too much I believe.
This is just a nice announcement all round.

im so excited right now about this news. Can't wait to see how party formation is going to work.
Reconnects Reconnects Reconnects!!!
One question though, if we disconnect right before mission is going to end and your party beats the mission before you can reconnect to join them again, will we still get updated as having beaten the mission with them or do we have to start over???
This happened to me at Abbadons Gate mission. We had Abbadon's hp down to the last tidbit and i disconnected. So will the reconnect feature help us maintain our win????

I've got a question about the reconnect system.
If you lag in the new system, does that mean that the server will continue to consider you to be "in game" for up to 10 minutes? More specifically, will your character stand there helplessly for the whole of 10 minutes? Or will you be taken away after the presently operating disconnect time, only to be reinstated if you reconnect?
I'm asking because the first scenario will be rather harsh on those who lag and are trying to get survivor title...

You've got the completely wrong idea. This isn't about how heroes and henchies form in a group around you in combat, but rather allowing people to advertise what prof they are and what missions/quests/PvP they want to participate in. Forming parties, not party "formations."
