Holiday Rewards

In addition to the seasonally appropriate headwear you can receive from either Dwayna or Grenth at the end of the grand finale, here are some other gifts and items you might see during the Wintersday festival:

* Winter Gift: What surprise will you find inside? "Unwrap" it to find out.

* Snowman Summoner: Need an instant snowman? This gift is for you.

* Eggnog: The holiday season's staple drink.

* Spiked Eggnog: A more potent glass of nog for the hale and hearty. Please imbibe responsibly—don't drink and quest.

* Green Candy Cane: The return of the adventurer's favorite candy treat.

* Rainbow Candy Cane: A different flavor of candy cane that should also make those long days of questing much more enjoyable.

* Yuletide Tonic: Drink this tonic if you want to be one of Dwayna's little helpers during the festivities.

* Frozen Globs of Ectoplasm: You'll need some of this collectible item when you get low on Yuletide Tonic.

* Candy Cane Shards: Collect these colorful fragments by questing and competing. The outcome of Wintersday hangs in the balance, and your contribution of Candy Cane Shards may make all the difference. Besides, you never know what somebody might trade for these once the festivities come to a close. Tip: Hold onto those shards until the Wintersday finale and use them for good (or mischievous) intent!

* Fruitcake: A tasty holiday staple that is sure to put a little spring in your step.

* Special Rewards: In the tradition of the season, you'll receive special headgear during the Wintersday finale. And even better, you'll get a new means of storing it, as well.

I missed all of last years events since I "quit" guild wars at that time. Hopefully they still have those yule caps =) and time for me to get a hat for all my chars =)

Couple things I'm curious about:

Will the Wintergreen weapons remain "special" weapons acquirable only during the tournament, or will they replace the red candy cane weapons as this year's craftable weapon? (I hope it's former- the Wintergreen weapons should retain their specialness, and I was looking forwards to being able to get my hands on some more of the red version after deleting my old ones for storage room.)
It doesn't sound like Candy Cane Shards are used to craft weapons, now it seems like they're part of the event finale, and maybe for acquiring post event items?
What in the name of Lyssa is a Frozen Glob of Ectoplasm? And can we thaw them and sell them for several platinum a piece?
What's the difference between the old candy canes, the green ones, and the rainbow ones?
Why no love for Cantha? Guess they're making up for the last six months when Factions got every single event

I'm gonna guess that the rainbow ones give a moral boost. I want to know more about the quests involving reindeer and polar bears

yep i am interested to find out more about the polar bears and reindeers. Perhaps its hinting at Holiday Pets ZOMG?!?!

Thank goodness there's going to be head gear storage, that's a good first step to full armor storage (let's hope there will be). Reconnects and now this, maybe they might surprise us with an auction house during or at the end of the event.

yay!! Carrying around my Halloween stuff has been annoying. My storage is full of stuff I transfer between characters, mostly runes and weapons for my heros. New storge ftw!!

Well I must say ANet always makes up for any mistakes or boredoms they cause me with fun events. So seems my hours will increase some more.

Oh and I wasn't blaming Anet for that, but I don't feel like wording it differently.

Thanks a TON Anet for all the great upcoming "gifts" for Christmas. Reconnects, better party matching, additional storage options, and of course a huge Wintersday 13 day blowout! What more can we ask for. Well, at least its enough to make me happy :-) .

Wow, this looks like it's going to be the awesomest event ever!! And with so many items to collect, I think I'm going to have to be reallllllly sick and not go to work for a couple days next week
