Player A booted.
Player kick is NEVER going to happen, it matters not how many people want it, it is never going to happen, and rightly so, easiest thing is to accept it and stop wishing they would change it.

Hmmmm, they could change it so that if a player gets kicked (or disco-ed or whatever) the items assigned to him also disappear. In this case they might as well disable the 10 minutes item-assigning rule.

if u really want CC shards, (kind of off-topic), farm outside of sunspear great hall. there are tons of easy creatures than can be killed in 1 hit with dervish/ele aoe or any other character. i usually make 7 cc shards a run, and these buggers only take 2-3 mins to kill.

I'm going to go play SBA a bit this afternoon or evening, and I'll be sure to let Support know if we need to start monitoring SBA more, or pulling random chat logs and giving people time outs. (What a shame, to get a time out during an event. Dang. )
But honestly, guys, the reason we had to remove the Egg Nog consolation prize was because some players were abusing it. (I know, that sad situation when a few bad applies spoil it for the rest of us.) Leeching and AFKing is a common complaint from players, and we understand why! It's frustrating to have a team made up of people who've gone out for the night, or who are sleeping or watching telly but who are reaping undeserved rewards for doing nothing.
If some player feel that ArenaNet was wrong to make this change, consider this: We didn't make the change needlessly or without cause. Instead, we made an appropriate response to exploitation and/or abuse. So if things were changed, and if we players are a little poorer for it, the blame doesn't rest with ArenaNet, it lies with those who were knowingly twisting the system. Frankly, I'm sorry for the disappointment and I'm saddened by the change, but I agree it had to be done.

And boy, I sure agree that leavers, leechers, and AFKers are all legitimate concerns!

I have a great idea...
Not that it'll ever happen but I should start griping about it now until I am seen as useless (no one does that around here).
If they make a command /kick for leechers and what have you why not make one for whiners too?
/kick Leguma --> The ranting is getting old, useless and pointless. Quit!
End of story.

We may not even have the technology to pull records and see if someone idled in a mission or was active; I honestly don't know if we do.
I do know that the AFK situation is something that we may be choose to address in the future, either by disciplining players who engage in it, or perhaps by changes in design. But it is not considered a Support issue at this time, and we request that you not submit tickets regarding this matter.

...
"AFK" is on the list, so the matter is not off the radar and remains a point of discussion, even now

At least they know it is a concern, yet are not sure what to do about it.

Here is a collection of things that if implemented may help out some.
1. If a person quits a game they are locked out from re-entering for 2 minutes. If they quit for a legitimate reason it is not that long to wait considering it is not something that they frequently will do, but a person who frequently enters fights, evaluates the chances and then leaves will be locked out at a more frequent rate and that will add up and deter their further participation. 2. A small amount of faction is awarded to both sides after the fight is over. This faction reward is like a 'thanks for putting on a show' from Balthazar himself. The faction is divided equally among all remaining players on each team. 3. A button that allows a team to vote kicking off a leecher. If the entire team is unanimous in wanting to kick the leecher and the leecher doesn't submit any vote of their own in a timely manner, they are kicked off and locked out from re-entering the arena for 2 minutes. Maybe the implementation of all 3 would help in the long run.
