90% of the "Pros" becomes "Newbies" at Doa.everyone just dont have time or patience you need in there and at those 3 times i have been i there ive seen totally frustrated people who are ignorant/rude pick one..and they are just messing around not even try to play seriously. So Doa maybe aint the best place to determine whos pro or newbie or rude or ignorant or anything.

Seriously, there's alot of people who probably didn't know how to do some of the bonuses here, or follow instructions. On my level 20 prophecies war, I decided to do the bonuses that was previously missed. Grouped with 3 other pugs and my heroes and we did D'Alessio Seaboard. Nobody went to protect Benji except me. Grouped with 3 other pugs again in Divinity Coast, it was only me who ran over and protect the Villagers for bonus. On Bloodstone Fen, I grouped with 3 pugs, I said time and time again 'Don't attack the guardians' and what some idiotic noob do? killed a guardian. I got pissed at that point and left the group. I soloed to get the bonus myself.

I don't want to start anything controversial, but some of the biggest a-holes of this game are in pvp. Everywhere I go, people scream noob, ebayer, loser, I see ragequiters, leechers, and more types of people. I mean, I cannot believe some of these guys.

I wouldn't and couldn't give a damn about how ignorant or rude people are. Ignore list, or just ignore it.

I've spent much time trapping UW, some in Stygian and was taught by a very good and patient player. I listened and watched, then I wanted to pull and have become pretty good over time.

I was told what worked best for trapping, the WS 16, having a staff for more energy, etc. I saw what was working for an experienced player and went with it.

In a 3 man UW trap team you can tell when someone does not have WS 16 as the monsters don't die right off - used to get annoyed, now I just adjust my gameplay and expect either to die or do some running around.

Earlier today a player was in ToA asking about the wintersday quest, where to go. I answered his question. After he was done that part he wanted to know where to get the garlic for that quest, I answered. His response was "where is Bettletun?" I gave him directions , pretty simple to do. I think you get my point. I was enroute to Sanctum from ToA or I would have run around with him as well - it can be fun playing with new(er) players.

I was once ignorant (didn't know things) and either learned or was taught. I choose to teach when asked. And I still ask players what skills etc they use when I see something that is effective.

Don't know it all - never will, will teach what I know when someone asks a question though.

Morale of the story ladies and gents and everything else, these things have happened, is happening, and will forever happen in the internet realm. Ranting won't help so why bother? Enjoy the game or move on, forcing yourself to stay in a place that doesn't make you happy, will never make you happy in the future.

@ the OP: Cow Tale wasn't kidding when he said, "get over yourself". Who cares if some people are going in DoA with 8 people, you're not being forced to join a 8 man group now are you? As for players bringing "wrong" skills and whatnot, again, who's forcing you to join them? What you need is to find someone exactly like you, "leetness" and all. But then again, you two will probably be butting heads...

The reason why GWs, and the internet in general is full of ignorant, morons who treat others like dirt is this;

They can get away with it. They behave in a way which they couldnt in real life.

If these people went to their local pub, and spoke to people in person they way they do online, they would get a glass smashed in their face. And they know it.

But because their protected by thousands of miles, a computer screen and an alias, they suddenly find a back bone and feel they can speak to anyone they meet in anyway they wish.

Its not unique to GWs. Its the general attitude accross the whole internet. Just look at the vast majority of threads which are created in this website alone. Then look at how many of those threads end up being flamed and turned into an arguement.

I would guess around 90% of threads created here and on most websites get flamed at one point or another.

Something which is usually started by just one or two individuals trying to look clever and wanting to feel big by criticising someones opinion.

And the most common form of attack against someone else in GWs is?

The word "noob".

Something which is meant to define "new to the game" and "inexperienced", but like most words its twisted and now is nothing more then a generic insult.

Similarites being the word "gay". A word which unfortunately is still twisted by most immature children and young adults to be an insult.

The unfortunate truth is that there is nothing we can do about abuse and the attitudes online and in GWs.

Its inherant and it will always persist because people will always have more courage to say things when you cant see their face and you cant retalliate.

The chances are that alot of these arrogant, abusive people are young teenagers or young adults.

If you took those same people and put them in a situation where they were surrounded by real people and then repeated the same debate. Chances are they wouldnt have the nerve to speak the way they do online.

Most people who are loud and rude and obnoxious online, are shy, timid, scared individuals in real life.

Taking their bad moods out on us, because they feel the world owes them one. Because their bullied at school or at work. Because they dont have a g/f or friends.

Its not worth worrying about. Even if it does get to you.

That is nothing new. It happens in PvE too.

There are so many ignorant players because there are so many ignorant humans. It just so happens that the majority of players who pve are preteen boys who have a (self censored) inferiority complex and make up for it by pretending they're leeter than everyone else.

QFT. Some people would rather fight and be retards than listen and learn (see America's school system).

I've played for many many hours, I do research on guildwiki, and here. I read the strategy guides, I try different builds. But there is still so much I haven't learned. Mostly 'leet' areas where no one will answer your questions and then call you a noob for asking. I got thrown out of a FoW group once for asking if the stuff in the chests was worth paying 1500 a key or should I just skip the keys. "OMG F***ing noob, you've never been to FoW etc etc."
Then there's the abbriviations. HOLY CRAP who can keep up with all of it? I look in guildwiki for common jargon, but it changes so fast. And if I ask a question like "What's a B/P" in Urgoz I might as well forget about getting picked up by anyone.
p.s. I know what a b/p is now.

This happened just 10 minutes ago ~

*player*~'What second profession should i have as a paragon?'

*me*~ 'You should go warrior, the paragons get extra benefit from shouts'

*player* (Whispers me)~ 'wtf, thats sounds crap, warriors suck noob'

then on local chat he says

*players*~ 'ill go monk, thanks alot people...'

I get this ALL the time, its why only on rare occasions do i lend a hand to other players.
The lesson learnt here?

Why does he ask it anyway. Well, whatever. Not much to worry about, is there?

I don't get it why people get so upset about other people on the net or in a game. They're not your problem, are they? It has no use and would not make any difference. Everytime someone wants to feel big, I just laugh. Laugh my arse off. I couldn't care less.

I play a mesmer, and honestly that's the kind of BS I've been playing with since day 1. Honestly, it blows my mind how entirely ignorant people can be. All I have to say is that I'm grateful I don't have to wait til the Dragon Lair to get level 20 henchmen, otherwise I'd probably still be struggling with pugs.

I agree with this thread totally, recently i tried to sell my golden razorclaw perfect mods, i offered to a person who adamently replied to me that it was "a piece of xit" and offered 2k i laughed and said that was ridiculous, they replied here see my scythe far better than yours and presented me with a negligble(sp?) green, so i explained gold's are rarer and generally better, then they began to flame me. The gw society is 80% these people and it is very hard to live with as ignoring can be difficult. Just my thoughts. Murtagh

Alright, I feel I'd be a prime example of this. I've had a GW account for about 18 months, yet I've only started playing for more than 15 minutes at a time in the last couple weeks. I've played a couple of other online games over the past few years - the ignorance etc... Is a common feature of the internet, as has already been stated in this topic. Now, I'd like to think that when I'm offered advice etc.... Unlike some of the examples in this topic. You think ignorance is bad, go play some Counter-Strike: Source. Seriously, try and put up with the ignorant whining on there. 'no way was that a headshot' 'lucker n00b' And so forth. It's on BF2 as well, and on other games I've played.

I bring wrong skills, I have crap equipment, some of us can't help not knowing as much as some. Obviously you get the people who think they know everything, when they don't. Just laugh at them and carry on. I think it's a shame when the majority of players make experienced players not want to help anymore, but that's the way it is.

The in-coherent ramblings of a half asleep newbie.
