Ranger, because I usually make my first character a ranger-type whenever I play a game. However, I quickly fell in love with mesmers, too, and took a mesmer quite far through Prophecies before switching back to a ranger.

Ranger and Mesmer remain my two favourite professions.

I made my first alter ego a W/Mo 12/2005 I felt this would be a smash and basher but I have learned finesse. Now I have 10 other alternates all professions lvl20

warrior is first not a surpridse to me as i have heard from many that that was their first...the ele being 3rd was somewhat of a shock but then lessened as i thought about it more and how people always want one in their group even though the low armor is a problem.

mine was the ranger first though

idk but i like rangers lol

Elementalist.

I always lean towards Mage classes in any mmorpg game.
Even tho Mesmers and Necromancers are sorta-mage, Elementalist skills seemed more interesting to me. :P

One of the first monks in GW - Bought the game on Day 1 and still love it (have taken a couple month breaks though from time to time)

My monk is the first character i have complete any of the campaigns.

(not including those who beta tested of course)

Forgot to post my choice/explanation.

A warrior/ranger who is still my main character, doing everything first. Created her on the advice of my son, though he was disappointed that I didn't choose Monk as my secondary.

She has remained a w/r until recently when she has had to cap elites for heroes to use. Nothing like playing with a sulking warrior. I threatened her with replacement by her mesmer cousin which has reduced commentary to muttering under her breath.

My VERY first character was a ranger... who got deleted after half an hour. (Too ugly). Then a created another ranger... but I didn't play alot with her.
My first character that reached post-searing Ascalon was my monk... and she was the first one with who I finished PvE.

My first was a ranger because I love archery and nature. After restarting him about 9 months ago to change hairstyles (before I knew about birthday presents, and no hairstylist npc FTL!), he's still my favorite and will never be restarted again.. lol

Well technically a ranger, but since i quit GW after creating him (VERY slow comp) that would be wrong.

Once i got some more memory, and a gfx card for the odd BF2 sessions here and there i started playing again.

So the first char i actually played is my necro

Poll is starting third week and I see that there are still no paladins.

I'm resisting the urge to go find threads by people just buying the game and order them to do the poll as soon as they select their first character, especially if they buy Nightfall.
