I personaly hope that theyre will not be another profession. Instead, they should make the next continent HUGE (bigger then Tyria), add A LOT of skills for all 10 profession and a BID and LONG story filled with mission and quest.

I alose think that Oonly the 6 core professions should be avaible to player who only own ch.4 and/or 1, add sin/rit if you own ch.2 and add Derv/para if you own ch.3. So if you own all 4 youll be able to create a character from any profession.

Well as much as my logic is bull to you, It makes me question why you play only one profession in a game of many. Selective ignorance? I clearly couldn't understand your twisted logic before posting and expressing myself. For shame, you don't understand the meaning of fresh. If you're as stubborn as an old man.
I prefer quality over quantity but looking at your attitude and the way you express yourself, quality clearly isn't written in your dictionary.
If you prefer quality over quantity, then why did you read, reply, attack my expression? To get off on believing you're clearlymore established on producing quality yourself? Maybe you decided that you liked larger posts to pick on than small quality material ones? It becomes clear your own dictionary is warped, and you seem to be reading the wrong definitions in relation to entries, sir.
Anet already stated that NOT every chapter would have new professions and it's about time we get one without them so they can polish and further DEVELOP the existing ones with plenty of new skills and whatnot. If they choose to add them, ok so be it, I will buy chapter 4 but I won't play with them anyway.
Show me, please, where Anet stated they changed their business model, did you just assume by Gaile's statements of Anet conferencing about the possibility to release a chapter without new profession as fact? That Anet was in fact doing this? You believed Gaile's statements as Official release information in vain?
Of the four professions they added after prophecies, none are as commonly used as the others except for maybe mesmers who are not that popular either, in pve at least but that's because they're an advanced class. Ritualists and sins are a minority and the same will happen to dervishes and paragons when the hype is over.
Obviously, there will always be new professions coming, so how could less than new professions hold the attention of the masses, when there is something clearly totally new to play with? The fact is, new professions provide more options, better than any simple skills can on their own TO already existing professions. Those options do not disappear, they remain pilling up for you to leave your lonely monk away for a min to try new things.

I know the world may seem scary to you, but you can't judge a book by it's silly covers. The cover is to attract attention by any means necessary. This could include a dictionary with a the cover of a monkey writing "this isnut moy dickshunary!"

If you got to know me before assuming you knew my dictionary on a web forum you may have learned from me, theres a time to be serious and critical, and a time for lighthearted conversation with more than serious death in debating. Much like the end of the last sentence really makes no sense, it doesn't have to.

Going with the OP's theme, I did a quick survey of the bestiary thus far, and found the following "professions" not represented yet (i.e. if they follow the "ritualist" path)...

Non-Casters

Scout***
Hunter***
Duelist***
Bandit***
Avenger
Champion
Tracker
Berserker
Maurader
Seeker

Casters

Sage***
Seer***
Mentalist
Windcaster
Enchanter
Mind Reader
Wizard
Savant
Abbot
Sycophant

*** These class names were repeated multiple times among various enemies in some or all three chapters.

Not sure if it means anything, but it's interesting to say the least.

Selective ignorance? Don't make me laugh. I started with an ele when prophecies was released, two months after I switched to warrior. I tested a lot of classes and the monk class is me.

Why do I play with my monk only now?
- the playstyle suits me, keep people alive on my watch and the class also has some attacking skills
- a monk always has been a good farming character, even now with the ai nerf
- I'm a title man, going for pkm now so it's interesting for me to stick with one class
- over 40 elite skills instead of only 15 when I use a new profession, I would get bored faster with few main class skills.
- I want to focus on one class to become extremely good at it
because I have all skills I can use my heroes like they are my main character so I know the ins and outs about classes, builds etc.
I'm still learning every day though.

In case you forgot, Gaile Gray is Anet's community manager so yes the chance exists she knows something about Anet don't you think. At least more than you or me.

I don't have a prob with new classes coming, but not every chapter. It would be good to focus on existing professions once in a while so players who have found their 'niche' class are getting a blast too.

You know nothing about me so stop assuming. And my lonely monk is doing more than fine thank you and I feel good playing like this and that's what counts to me so it's only normal from my point of view I'm not so fond of new professions especially when we just had two chapters with them.

I agree with you. Instead of adding more professions i would like to see more armors and skills for the current 10 professions and a much wider story.

But seeing as thats not how Anet seem to work.....

Screw new professions! wheres our Tengu race?!

I'm all for new classes, as for what they are to be is beyond me. I do seem to like some of the shapeshifter ideas floating around, however. A well executed mechanically based class would peak my interest. I've always wondered what its like when a fantasy world hits the industrial revolution lol. Granted, that idea is a bit out there. Who knows, there are still possibly many more unique ideas flaoting around - surprise us ArenaNet .

For those of you out there who are opposed to new classes on the basis taht they're stepping on each other's toes: there may be some ability overlap (Dervishes and Warriors both doing a decent job of tanking comes to mind), but they both execute the job in different ways that may suit the playstyles of different players. Relatedly, there are players that may not have found their "niche", so to speak, in any of the current classes. Personally, I enjoy the the assassin profession above all else, more so than any core class (I had PvE level 20s in all of them). A friend of mine has played a monk since prophecies, but it always felt kind of off. With the release of Nightfalland the Dervish class he's finally satisified. I certainly don't want to deny anyone the gratifying "click" when you find the profession that works for you, and for many this may not happen without the addition of new enjoyable professions.

I swear to god almighty, i hate the guru servers as of the last 2 days... so LAGGY. I have typed now (2 times at that) a page of neat ideas for class additions and upgrades to existing classes, new weapons, etc etc. Every time I tried to post it, it errors to a blank page. So you know, here is the short of it!

Either add a Druid and Alchemist or upgrade existing classes with new attributes, like make monks fighters (because I am sick of healing you mofos, I want to beat the living crap out of a thumper, trip him with a bo staff, beat his brains in with it, and then side thrust kick his ribs out) Monks STRIKE BACK! HIYA!!

like alot of people here im hoping for NO new classes

if i could have the next chapter my way, it would just be [as stated by others] a big content boost. with a new world [a bigger one than ever before], new weapons, new skills and a host of new monsters....AND MORE STORAGE

one thing that would be interesting is the ability to have a "mount" im only throwing this up in the air, its not my prefered thing, but i know a few people would like one.

How about a new race, using the classic 6 core classes, but tweaked a bit? For instance, make the Warrior a Fencer, dropping Hammer, Axe, and Strength for some new attributes, essentially making a new class, but not really.

Other ideas:
Ranger becomes Hunter (uses a Rifle instead of Bow)
Monk becomes Sage (instead of Smiting, have Staff Mastery)
Elementalist becomes Mage (not sure what could be changed here, maybe Light/Dark Magic?)
Mesmer becomes Enchanter (Get rid of Domination & Fasst Casting for something more Magician-like)
Necromancer becomes Cultist (Remove Blood & Death for possibly something like Domination and ritual-like)

I dunno, just some ideas. It would keep things fresh, introduce a seemingly multitude of classes, but all with a familiar feel. No new classes, just revamped old ones with new skins... That's what I want to see!

I would like a rubber ball as a selectable race.

With this rubber ball you will have 4 skills.

-Bounce

-Rub

-Roll

-Face Smack

and ofcourse a rez signet.

Now hear me out, everyone has always wanted rubber balls for a while, but I think Chapter 4 will finally give rubber balls to everyone

I also dont want to see any new professions or new skills. I would like it to be linked with the previous chapters and more like prophecies, large, with lots to do. Unfortunately I think this is unlikely.

I suppose my real preference would be no new chapters but instead expansions like sorrows furnace to the already existing chapters. A-net is a buisness though so this wont happen;they need to make money somehow.

I don't really want new Profs but I would like some more skills. At least for the Paragon and Dervish.

They should make Chpt.4 smaller. Maybe a big island or something.

I really don't want any new proffesions either. New skills would be ok, but I think there are enough already. Let's take a look at WoW, yes WoW (don't beat me up just yet). In WoW, there are only 8 classes.

Yes, I do play it aswell as GW. In WoW I never see anyone complaining about wanting new skills, proffesions, classes etc etc. The reason is that, even though there are only 8 classes, the game is so huge that you can't play all 8 classes through to lvl 60 and then have nothing left to do. WoW has tons of content, as in; quests, dungeons, crafting etc.

That's what I think GW needs, not new proffesions or skils but more content, more things to do. If there was more content, people would stick to playing a single character for much longer and there wouldn't be a "need" for new proffesions or skills.

Although, I do think that a new race would be nice.

personally i hope they dont do any new professions but if they do i wld love to see a phalanx and a whip wielding caster that have been mentioned here already.

something they could do is add more attribute lines to existing professions tho.

e.g. ele has fire, water, earth and air atm, they cld add a new elemental line like ice (only an example) or something. Or on warrior they cld add a dual sword attribute line
