I started playing Guild Wars last month and just recently got last 2 chapters so have all 3 now. The festival hat vendors are useless to me as I have no hats on any characters. I see people with Santa Hats and Reindeer Antlers and I've seen it mentioned that was from 2005 event.

Any hope for us poor hatless wanderers?

No, sorry, it only copies hats you already have. As in hats that are customized to your character. So if you have a hat for your necro and you put it in storage and have your warrior take it to the had guy for him to copy, the hat guy won't copy it. You'll have to have your necro take the hat to the hat guy, and then go to the hat guy with your warrior so he can give the warrior a hat. What's nice is that you can delete all copies of your hat once you give it to the hat guy, and he'll always be able to re-make your hat once he's seen it.

At least you have this year's hats to look forward to, and you won't have to lose any storage spaces holding onto your hats.

Candy Cane Staff: Cold Dmg: 10-10
Candy Cane Sword: Slashing Dmg: 10-10
Candy Cane Wand: Cold Dmg: 10-10
Peppermint Daggers: Piercing Dmg: 5-5
Peppermint Scythe: Slashing Dmg: 10-10
Peppermint Spear: Slashing Dmg: 10-10

Off Hands: Given in exchange for 12 Candy Cane Shards.

Gingerbread Focus, Energy +5
Gingerbread Shield, Armor: 8
Peppermint Shield, Armor: 8

Wow, that's a ripoff. Last year it was 4 shards per weapon and 8 per offhand. So we're supposed to have enough shards to get these weapons and use them in the finale? I wish they'd give some hint on what their use will be then.

ok , when I got my CC bow, it was 10-10, now I look and its 15-15.
Anyone know what it takes to make this higher?

EDIT: Just checked CandySmith Coldstone and it lists 15-15. can someone comfirm that this has always been the rating? I swear it was 10-10 when I got mine....

A few tips from a self-professed Wintersday addict...

1. Spiked Eggnog + Gargoyle Hunting = a very quick way to get and maintain your Drunkard Title!

While farming Gargoyles outside of Nolani Academy, you can normally pound down 6 Spiked Eggnogs during the 20 minute comprehensive run. On average, I've been getting about 18 skulls per run, so not only are you gaining 18 minutes towards your Drunkard title, you are also increasing your Spiked Eggnog stash by +3 each time. Doing the complete run (i.e. kill every gargoyle you can find while avoiding the Charr - you can also kill 4-5 Stormy Eyes too) does not trigger the anti-farming code as well.

2. Every once in a while, the Grentches in Lions Arch will get stuck for the night. Just map travel between districts until you can find one where they aren't moving - then it's a free run to Scrappy Jhim to get your fill of Winter Gifts (versus those terrible Candy Cane Shards).

3. Current market prices (which fluctuate daily, so this is just an estimate):

Candy Cane Shards - 50 gold (even though people spam them for 100 gold)
Frozen Ectoplasms/Yuletide Tonics - 750 gold (even though people spam them for 1K)
Spiked Eggnogs - 400 gold
Gargoyle Skulls (or any other collector that takes 2 items and gives Spiked Eggnog) - 200 gold each
Charr Carvings (or any other collector that takes 3 items) - 100-150 gold each
Wintergreen Candy Canes - 200 gold

Fairly hard to sell: Plain eggnogs, snowman summoners.

Considering the CC Shards rain like mad, its far from a rip-off.
I made around 500-600 shards already, sold a fair share of them, bought CC weapons, and still have 300 left.

What's the point of titles you can't max? For self satisfaction maybe? I would show a high level champion, chest, wisdom, or even grandmaster title over KoaBD (or even PKM) any day since you can get KoaBD by just getting 3 protectors, afking your way through lightbringer, and using an exploit to max sunspear while being afk in about five hours (or have someone use another exploit to powerlevel you to max survivor). Getting KoaBD that way takes about two days of your time plus a lot of time leaving the game on and being afk. Compare that to a single grandmaster, which takes people two days just to get from 97% to 100%. Most titles are either unable to be maxed (or extremely/insanely difficult to max): champion, gamer, hero, gladiator, commander, skill hunter, luxon/kurzick, chest, wisdom.

you guys think they will put a NPC like they did in factions for the dragon mask, to get the hat after the final day? I cant play that day. So i have a chance to get the hat?

No, if it's like last years then you'll have to gather more people in the district around either Dwayna or Grenth's avatar and whichever god has the most people around them will get the holiday hats for that god. You will have 9 chances to show up and receive them.

Hmm,
This will make it hard to get both as I only have 2 chances to be at the event. Since the event is based off PST I have 9:00am when I get up to go to work and then when I get in I can go for the 12:00midnight(9:00pm PST).

The other times I will be working, is there some sort of "code" as in these are for Dwana and these are for Grenth? Or is it good luck?

If it is good luck, who give out what? This will make me go AFK and stand in their area.

It'll be up to the people in the district that you are in for which god wins. You could try going afk on either god's avatar and hope that the people in your district will populate that god. But eventually that god will have the most people in that district surrounding them at least once during the finale.

Last year the odd districts were for Grenth and even for Dwayna (or maybe the other way around cant remember). I imagine it will be the same way unless it is a different with the rings and all.
