I must admit I am very jealous! Congratulations to those of you who have had one!
I have to say too that this was a very original idea!
A long long time ago, in a game called Ultima Underworld, if you completed the game it came up with a postal address to write off to to tell them of your achievements. If you did this, they sent you back a hand signed certificate. This personal "real life" touch has been missing from games for a long time since then.
Just wondering though how Anet came to have your addresses though?
I honestly cannot remember if entering a postal address was a requirement in registering for the Guildwars or the PlayNC accounts.
Have the people who received a card all entered competitions that required them to supply a postal address?
Once again, many congratulations to those of you who have received a card!

Congratulations to the 1,000 GW players who have received this special gift. What ever the criteria was for choosing the recipients, thank you ANet for rewarding them.

If I remember correctly, they ask for your postal address when you're entering your card details in the online store.
It's trivial for them to look at your account and see what you've got, so if you have everything Guild Wars, including the tea-cosie and matching dinner set, they'll tie it up with your address and fire off a card.
This is why I'm inclined to think that it's related to how much money you've thrown their way

I think this is a great idea.
So congratulations to all that found the card in their mail.
Both for getting the card and being such 'extraordinary citizens'.

Hmmm I sent in an entry for the NF guild emblem contest, so they have my address... I wonder if I'll get one? I guess I'll find out when I visit my parents next week (I gave them my home address instead of my college address).
Congrats to those honored with a card!

Well, even though I was not lucky enough to receive a card, Merry Christmas to y'all.

Anet Happy Holiday Card
Hello everyeone, my guildleader (Sean Vanhorne) just msgd me to show me what he got at his home adress today.
I wont talk much and just post the scans ( look at the attachments)
So as you can see its a signed card from Anet itself. You can clearly see Gaile's Signature and a few other people that i dont know or are hard to read :P
On the front of it it shows in the left bottom corner 279/1000.
Gaile does this mean you guys only sent 1000 of these to people?
My guildleader wants to say Thank you for this card and that he is very happy with it.
So anyone else got this card?

Merry Christmas is right!
Thanks for starting the post Xen.
I was totally FLOORED when I got the card. It was SO cool. I couldn't belive it was hand signed by the ArenaNet crew. What an awesome random unexpected gift. This is a special kind of touch that I would have never expected from a game manufacturer/developer. It really speaks volumes to the kind of people that are represented at ANet.
Thank you everyone!!!
Merry Christmas!
P.S. I'm so putting you on my Christmas list!

You know, people want to complain and I confess that sometimes I am one of them, but time after time this company proves they are the greatest.

Two of my guildies and myself recieved signed cards. To my knowledge none of us have entered in any emblem contests or anything of that nature nor have any of us made mention in the scribe. I am just as curious to know how we and everyone else made this "list".

If a dev or someone else wouldnt mind, could they list all the people that signed it? Its kinda impossible to read some of those signatures and I'd just like to know the nice people that signed all those.

hm, havent gotten one....did submit drawings for the weapons contest, have purchased at the online store, have the ce of all 3 chapters....post here and gwo....even gave money for the core/elite guru thing.....not a big member of my guild ----but we have only 3 members and my hubby wont let me be the leader since his brother started the guild ....so I am just a member, heck the only member of our guild (3 people).....so unless thats a requirement I have no idea what people did to get recognized......
so oh well, past by for another thing.....seems to be my theme.

I would like to know too. Having multiple characters, spanning 4 accounts, I can only assume I got a card for the character I played the most. lol. #526/1000.
BTW Just got "King of A Big Deal". (Now working on capping the elites in NF).
lol

I didn't get one, but that's probably a good thing for me. If I did, my daughter would just complain "Oh no! Not more Guild Wars."
(she despising me playing...and she's only 5).
