a Dye Trader in Pre-Searing would be nice. Especially if it were somewhere accessible, but hard to reach for the level of most characters. Like, over the wall behind some groups of Charr.
That way, it's THERE, but not in-your-face like it is in post.

nah, just a warning come up a few times when you get dyes sayin "This may be worth something In The Future, Hold onto it"
Especially as players would then ask what that means and not sell Black and white dyes for 1 gold each to the trader

We just define "scam" a little bit differently. You call it "bargaining," okay, I say "taking advantage."
I subscribe to fair market value, which is defined as that price agreed upon by a willing and knowledgeable buyer and a willing and knowledgeable seller, with no obligation to buy or sell, and each working in their own interests.
And yes, I have turned down deals where I would have come out waaaaay on top, because the item offered was too valuable for what was being traded. There is no reason on earth good enough for me to take advantage of a new player who doesn't know better. I will tell people to check guru's price check etc and see if they can sell the item to someone else.
Meanwhile, I never buy anything from other people (except materials once in a while) so your "perfect weapon" question does not apply to me.
If you are one of those people who does tell people ahead of time that black dye is worth 15 times what you're paying for it, then I /salute you.

Though, if anyone is spamming: 'Selling Black Dye for 500g!', I won't let him spam that without buying it, if I won't buy it, someone else will, and he'll still be scammed. And some extra K's is always nice.

Nice attitude from someone who is a Moderator on a "elit" fan site.
Can't trust you to be fair here either then.

I thought so also. So its ok to scam someone as long as you think they are going to be scammed in the first place? Why not tell the player its worth a bit more than that? But hey thats just me.

Well, since this thread is experiencing (temporarily, at least) a new lease on life, I guess I'll add my two cents:
In my case, dye has been much more prevalent in pre-searing the last few days. I've gotten literally dozens, including two blacks and a white...in fact, I had seven vials drop in less than 90 minutes of playtime tonight.
Granted, this is likely just an example of probability throwing me the occasional bone. If anyone else has noticed a similar pattern, however, I'd be willing to do a more rigorous and intensive recording of farming drops.
