I rarely customize anything...the only things I've ever customized were the following bows:

Sundering (I was noob) Ascalon (Long)Bow of Defense
Max, Req9, Blue Collector, 15^50, 10/10 Sundering (back in the days), +5 Defense

Vampiric Ascalon (Short)Bow of Shelter
Max, Req9, Blue Collector, 15^50, 5:1 Vampiric, +7 Physical

I only did it because I knew I couldn't salvage them for the mods anyways.

I customize each and every weapon that I intend to do damage with, or intend my hero to do damage with. The most expensive item? Eh, maybe my Ranger's 15^50 Req 9 Jade Longbow. I didn't think twice about it, either. Found it in a chest, and promptly customized it and dyed it Blue.

I also found a nice Scythe with my Dervish, dropped from a mob in the Consulate Docks mission. Perfect gold Req 9, Embossed Scythe, with 15^50, Furious 10% and 20% longer Enchants mods. It dropped just like that, so I took it as a sign and customized it. I also dyed it green, so it now matches my Derv's green & white outfit.

I don't customize any spellcaster items, though I use quite a few nice ones, so that I can switch them out as needed, and because ya know, the damage doesn't matter. Would be nice if they made it so that customizing a wand or staff would give +2 energy instead of +20% damage.

Not sure which is worse/better, but mine are gothic dual req8 15>50, and a purple crystalline, 14>50 req13.

People who don't customise are probably running about 7 in weapon mastery anyway, so their damage is already nerfed.

req 8 15^50 chaos axe +30hp 10% furious
req 8 fellblade 15^50 +30hp 10% furious
req 8 warhammer (spikey{pimp}) 15^50 +30hp 10% furious

all non-inscribable and highest price was 100k and 30ecto and lowest was 60k....i <3 my warrior......

....too bad i quit! ^_^

I customise everything I want to use and since I have ...24 I think it is now characters to outfit, plus heroes, I couldn't honestly say what the single most expensive/valuable item is, but it's probably one of my self-farmed req8 swords...

Probs my Kaolin Water Staff on my ele, though I have stopped customising spell caster weapons, not much point.

I customise occassionally for my warrior but she makes do with drops, bless her.

i'll customize things if i can get them again easily. otherwise it gets thrown into the sales pile.
