They should keep the elite mission easy entry for good not just for the weekend. Anyways I might have another go. Can heroes get in?

Obviously you have made the incorrect assumption that everyone always liked 8v8 and that everyone complained about the 6v6.
Different Opinions FTW.
Anyway. This is a /yawn weekend for me. I have no interest in spending 5+ hours in the elite missions and I couldn't care less about HA.

I plan to play during during the event so I can drive all the 6v6 lovers out of HA with the FOTM builds they could never beat. I wonder which one I'll run first IWAY or BSPIKE?
Don't expect me to stick around if ANET does not put the mechanics back to the way they were.

Beh this community really changes its mind, I browse through the HA test weekend forum to find trolls arguing about 8 vs 8 and i read this topic of those that want to keep it 6 vs 6. Personally i think 7 vs 7 is the best

Prophecies Elite areas are open for all, barring favor.
Nightfall's Elite areas are also open, albeit difficult.
Factions Elite areas are locked up, except for the alliances that has a hold on them...
I think it's time for a change. I'd like to see Urgoz's Warren or The Deep open to every alliance aligned with the side that controls said areas. It shouldn't be just the one that controls House zu Heltzer or Cavalon. If the Luxon alliances have pushed hard into Kurzick territory, taken control of say 75% of the controllable outposts, then every Luxon alliance should get access to The Deep. The same goes for every Kurzick alliance in the opposite direction. Individual alliances can still lay claim to separate outposts, yes, since they won them. But make the Elite areas *slightly* more open than they are now. Ferrying is, and always has been, just an exploit of the issue, not a solution.

Double gold drops was not enough back in the event during August. make it 4x gold drops, then it may be interesting.

So I'm supposed to be impressed because it's 3 for 1 event; ha don't make me laugh. <--- sarcasm
I agree with RSGashapon it should be at least now open to anyone to that particular alliance. I mean there is hardly anyone there anymore in Urgoz and The Deep. I hate to say it but I think Sorrows Furnace brings out the masses better since it's available at a higher rate then its successor’s.

Just leave a char in Deep/Urgoz permenently then no problem, can still access GH
For all those who hate pug groups (me included) all your worst nightmares will come true this weekend lol. Fortunately we're organising some proper guild groups for the weekend and builds and tactics are already sorted
A possible solution to access to the elite areas might be a npc that appears after a certain point of the game, ie after completing 10k quests or even the game. Sorta like they do in the Command Post.

this brings to light what I've been whining about for a long time; that of access and Gaile's promise many months ago to fix it. I hope twice per year free access events isn't the 'solution'.

You got it! We want people to have a chance to consider party size, as we promised we'd provide, after the recent changes were put into place.
We'll be pinging players about this in the future, you can be sure!

I don't think this is the answer, but certainly it is an answer. We'll see what the future brings!

I figure just make them 100% accessable all the time... God knows the first weekend they did that it was PUG hell in there, but that was while Factions was still fresh. Nowadays, with needing to know a little bit about how to play an elite mission, plus Nightfall being the "new thing" and soon Chapter 4 coming, you might see an ugly PUG rush into the Cantha elites if they openned the floodgates, but it would quickly simmer down into just people who knew what was going on entering the missions. Look how quick DoA went from 13+ districts down to 2... Anything short of this is just a pain in the ass. You don't have to meet any sort of high level qualifications to get a ferry...
The other major problem with the way things are at the moment is that in order to have access to the elites in Cantha, it requires capital town ownership. Capital town ownership requires massive faction. Massive faction requires massive PvP (and/or challenge farming). All of which leads to an alliance controlled city with fewer PvE players. Getting a ferry can be a real P.I.T.A.

I have no delusions that I'll pwn the mission. I'll do a bit of research on Guildwiki and try to find a PUG that sounds halfway intelligent, but other than that I'm there to look around and have fun. It would be a nice bonus to pick up a Green or 2.
The first time I went into Fissure of Woe, I had no clue what to expect. I took my normal warrior build and joined an average PUG. We did pretty good. Just by using some common sense (don't aggro every dot on the map, and follow the leader's lead) I helped the group clear out the beach.
|
Hate to say this, but urgoz/deep dont work at ALL like that. They require specific builds, and coordination.
Anyways, it looks like my alliance wont be getting much money in ferrying this weekend
