To the point where my wife was so unhappy with me that I offered to stop playing. She offered up that I "just take a break", so I just stopped playing in the evenings, period -for the time being.
So, yes I was obsessed, and I gotta weasel in some time for the New Years Festivel somehow...

This thread is awesome. If you don't mind the hijacking, I'd like to start with:
You know you're addicted to GW when:- You wear diapers to play
- You've named your first born Rurik
- When your cell phone runs out of batteries you yell "Res! RES! RES!"

Guys, hours and monthd playing doesn't tell anyone if you're obessed or not. You need to elaborate on things you do. Do you think about strategies at school? Do you print out builds to read and study over? (While in school or workplaces.) Are you goign to Iraq soon and pretend that the enemy is a charr invasion (haha!)
I have personally printed out an assassin build I need to study. a lot.

Guild Wars is nothing compared to my precious Playstation 3! Nothing is better than Resistance: Fall of Man!!
I have 1,074 hours in 20 months and GW to me is getting to a point where it's no fun to play.

I play GW a good bit but I also have a demanding job, a wife and also some other interests.
Do I play a lot of GW - yes
Am I addicted no - I've been 2-3 weeks without logging in just because I'm busy with other stuff.
Am I addicted yes - it's been the main PC game I've been playing for 1.5 yrs.
Now I also own WOW but don't play it at all simply because the subscription model COMPELS you to play.
I'm the kind of person that likes to get value for money so if I'm subscribing I feel that I have to play the whole time. If I don't I'm wasting money.
GW is probably the safest MMO in terms of addiction in that respect - but all of them are addictive.....
If you and your family are happy with the balance then there's no problem.

Around 1600 hours in 18 months here, but now I don't play much during the week because I've got a ton of school. But the weekend/Friday night is a different story....

Yeah, I'm obsessed too. Guild Wars has basically ruined my life. I get worse grades, lost a lot of friends, ect. But I still play, every day, and its what I look forward to when I am spacing out at school.
Now I'm depressed...thanks

Meh, in 6 months? IMO i'd say your obsessed. It depends though really. Are you like these people?-The players obsessed with getting expensive armor- many sets of expensive armor, or the people obsessed with making money and farming. Or are you these people-Play the game for enjoyment and fun. Play pvp and pve. Don't have expensive armor or many sets. Don't farm much if at all. Don't care about great armor.

My kids admit to being nub from time to time... I can't watch a movie without thinking of SOME skill here or there that either matches or should be in use...
Strangely though I haven't been playing that often lately (less than 3hrs a day, less than 3days a week)... GW in real life means less GWs at the comp? >_>
GW dreams are l33t

I know how to solve all of you problems:
Get a gf or bf, then you will have no time to play

im not addicted, because i have a life. when its time to stop, i stop. i only have like 300 hours logged so i thinkthat im ok. i do alot more than just guildwars so i KNOW that i am not addicted. i can remember one time when my friend played for like 2 hours, then left his game on accidentally while he went away for the weekend. he told me that his game said "you have been playing for 72 hours, please take a shower," that is pretty much all i have to say for this topic.

I have to wait to play, too. I have school from 5:50 in the morning to 6:00 at night, and then I have like 2 hours of homework, then I go to bed at 10, so I wouldn't say I am obsessed, just anxious to play

Well, your friend was lying because the game kick you off after ~10 hours of inactivity and after 24 hours no matter what.
