I take this as good news, so Ch4 will be more thought-out and thorough.

ah, we can only hope that with the extra time that they will put forth a more finished product that is worth waiting for.....
not to mention finishing stuff they already have live.....that should take them the rest of this decade!
As for me, I dont really care, I have 8 toons working thru elonia, one has finished 2 are close, one is level 3...........lots of stuff to do in the next bunch of months. And I still havent finished my titles from the other chapters on my innercircle toons.....one did and the other 3 havent.....lots of stuff to do.
(and I agree about the boring quests in nightfall----thats why I have only 1 character thru nf so far.......then I go back and do stuff from other chapters, redo older missions for masters etc.)

well im thinking they are making a new "core" game for the next series of games. the first trillogy is over, and its on to the next series. I dont think it will have any new classes because of this.
so baiscly, i think it will be the new prophices, and hopefully it will come with a few of the things they have been saying they would add, which may be why its taking longer

a new major update to the Guild Wars franchise in the latter half of 2007.....i just want to point something out, its says a new major update, key word update, does not say a new game. I beleive someone said that Chp4 was on track as well. Of course It could mean a new game will not be till 2nd 1/2 of 07 but till we get offical word i will watch and see what happens.

very well-reasoned. with 10 toons across 3 campaigns, that's like playing through 30 times (if you want to take all your toons through all campaigns as I do). 4 campaigns with 12 toons, 48 is just too many times through.
1 x 4 reset would be nice

Sounds reasonable too if the 'Chapter 4' is not going to an expansion but a whole new beginning to the GW universe. Anyway, there's no need to rush out Chapter 4 so fast, there's still aplenty things yet to be done before all three campaigns are considered completed, just like GTA's way of calculating the % of game completion.

*Cracks knuckles and does the best Clint Eastwood impression* "I still have a few things to mop up here, and then we will take swing at it."
Seriously though I rather it is later, since I know it will only get better and can’t get any worse. I hope I did not vex that (*looks around*). It also could mean a bigger playing field. Also have to save up for the CE version again.

Glad to see there are some people out there looking at the bright side of things. I also see that the trolls are up to their usual pessimistic selves (see page 1). I myself have been completely happy with each and every one of their campaigns so far, happy with all of the professions that they've introduced, and HAPPY that i don't have to PAY for each month that I play.
I won't even get into a rant about the complainers and whatnot, yeah i've compalined about A-net, in the Healbots' contest!! lol

That kinda sucks about Tabula Rasa. Granted I forget about it most of the time, but it's a game that I'd like to know more about. It looks interesting.

Yup, major update COULD refer to skill balance, and it most likely will include that, but we could expect things like WALKING, auction house *prays dearly*, you know stuff that have been requested. But then again i could be wrong, and just really hopeful

i doubt they'll update from basics the existing chapters. it's alot easier to make a new one from scratch..
IF they don't bring new content and a new system and keep the existing ones i'll just wave goodbye and that's it.
Let's hope Guild Wars: Utopia will be something fascinating, unlike....3.

I thought the same thing. But it still looks quiet.
Oh and back on topic again. I think most are like me and just are waiting for offical word and tired of rumours and hearsay. Its good to speculate but after awhile its just that speculation.

I'm very glad to hear this, although I think people were pretty much made aware of this a little while ago.
Quite simply, PvP cannot survive at the rate that they're rolling out updates currently. Things were shaken up so much upon the release of Nightfall that only now they're getting around to aligning skills and bringing back some kind of balance to competitive play.
Things we do not need any time soon:
- New character classes.
- A ton of new skills.
I think it's the correct decision; release a ton of new classes now and things would be a complete mess. Time needs to be spent balancing what's currently in-game.

And if it isn't this game is screwed. Which I am REALLY worried about. The content in nightfall and factions may not have been as superiorly thought out, but this scares me. No news, then late 2007? The community I agree is fluctuating, its going back and forth but yet I do see an increase from what I can tell. I am also glad to hear this because now it lets me at least attempt to finally get good titles on all of my characters and lets me have my pvp weeks and pve weeks to myself.
