I never swear. Don't even know where to begin to cheat, and I didn't play the game, just watching. Also, I can't talk to anyone else because 1. I didn't know anyone else there, 2. I'm banned, how am I supposed to?

and how is saying a message twice in local chat grounds for a 72 hour ban? immature or not, less admin abuse imo

You could have known someone in the district, or seen someone else posting somewhere. It sounds like if you were "Harassing" her then it is probablly for that reason, or it could be one of those "accidents" where they are trying to ban botter accounts or something and come across yours.
Sounds to me that it was because of the comments towards Gaile. In that case you deserved it, of course it is a little much to ban you for 72 hours...

I think the ban is extreme. However there are always two sides to each story.
The op swears he only said it twice with a group of people, but we don't know if that is true.
I think the "Gaile you like pie" is bloody funny, and the woman should chill out. She doesn't exactly give ground breaking info on most of her visits, so it is hardly surprising that people aren't taking her that seriously these days and are having a bit of fun as a group.
Good show.

What? I've never bought gold and never gotten a gift from anyone. Was that even relevent to the topic? lol.

I don't know anyone of the guild wars community outside of the GW community besides 2 of my friends, one who hasn't been on in months and the other who just started. Also I don't exactly socialize with people in-game. I chat with my guildies here and there but I didn't see any of them there and they aren't going out to see what Gaile has to say any time soon.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and i'm not 100% sure of the other people getting banned, but a few seconds before I got banned, it all stopped suddenly. So i'm just putting 2+2 together,

Buying gold on ebay is relevant because it is "illegal" in Guild Wars, that is what I was refering to as "cheating".
It sounds to me like you guys pushed her over the top, and it might not have even been her who confirmed the ban.

Yeah, you getting banned for any amount of time was uncalled for IF the only thing you said was "Gaile, you like pie" twice. There is nothing there against the TOS so it was just Gaile being the, hmm, well it was just Gaile not taking a joke. Watch the previous sentence get taken the wrong way.
I am pretty sure Gaile had a lot to do with it too, she takes a lot of stuff personally for no reason. It seems like if you aren't kissing her butt, you just can't say anything to her. I am not saying that's a fact, it's just the way it seems to me, Trobinson97. I remember once during an event I made a general comment referring to how players flocked around her avatar when she comes in the outposts. My words were "All this vying for Gaile's attention is akin to piglets fighting for the teat." She whispered me a warning, saying she would get the admin to ban me. I was just like whatever. I could've said it in a different way I guess , I can admit that, but still i didn't think it was something to get all riled up over. I've definitely seen worse.
Now, if there's something you're not telling us, like the context in which all the pie comments were used (and let's be honest, we know that "liking pie" can mean more than one thing in this day and age), then you probably had it coming, even if you weren't the first that took it out of context but just repeated it to further emphasize the joke. However, just typing out "Gaile, you like pie" is just a stupid reason to ban someone. Pretty soon people will start getting banned in game from comments made on here.
Gaile, you and the Anet staff like pie, don't you?

You probably got banned for harrassment. Because that's what it is. Spamming someone like that is harrassment. It could even be that you were spamming (I've always wanted them to start banning people for spam).
It could even be that Gaile comes on to give people info on what to expect from the game, and let them ask questions and such, and if people are spamming it is very hard to talk. It's the equivalent of wasting police time.

i think this is the key to this issue. depending on both the context of the use, and how its is received by the other party, "liking pie" can be seen as an offensive statement, even a form of verbal sexual harassment. not as direct as some other choice words, but the intent can still be there.

wait, i thought it was the message being spammed REPEATEDLY
like i'm imagining rows and rows and rows of the message.
and if that's the case, it's possible they just did a surge where it's like everyone who said it, even if it was once..well iunno, maybe they did it for people who said it more than once.
i wasn't there so i wouldn't know, but that's the impressions i got from the OP. and if there was a flood of the spam message, then just a whole ban of people who said was probably the easiest way i guess. if you can prove you only said it twice you might be able to get unbanned faster
*shrugs* i don't know the rules by heart, but i know people hate spams

When spamming, you are causing people to leave the district from so much spam. It doesn't matter who it is you are spamming the message to, if it is in Local Chat, people are seeing it.
PS:Trobinson97, do you have a personal problem with Gaile? Maybe with Anet and you are taking it out on Gaile? Maybe because Gaile gets all the attention when she comes around ( ) I have seen a few posts of yours in wich you "bash" gaile for numerous things. Just wondering...

That's an extremely vulgar, obscene, and sexist thing to say. Yet you complain about getting warned for it? Really you should be grateful you were only warned for it and not suspended.
Having to put up with crap like that would make anyone keen to use the suspension stick.
