Of course, and when I'm in a situation where I do want to hear sound effects, like, when I'm playing the game, I'll go into the options again to turn it back up. It's just perfect, who could ask for a better solution? Surely only a greedy cad.

I love that anet decided to 1) fix something that wasn't broken (the interface) and 2) introduce an annoying feature rather than balance the game. Lovely.

Greedy cad? I dont get it. I dont see how I'm being a "greedy cad." Insults are getting lamer and lamer nowadays...
Anyway, first you said you didnt like it because you couldnt listen to your music in peace and now you're complaining that you can't hear other sound effects as well. So which is it?
And guess what? I find the sounds of birds chirping very annoying. So I just turn down the sound effects. Do I come complaining about it? Or ask for individual filters for every different freaking sound? I gave you a practical and logical and simple solution. It's your problem if you choose not to use it.

Haha. I guess the complaining was louder than the pet sounds.

This feature is by-far the most annoying. You win some, you lose some.

Hallelujiah. I can only imagine why those at Anet couldn't forsee this issue like any layman could from reading Gaile's post, but it's been rectified and quickly.

I wasn't calling you a greedy cad. I guess my sarcasm fell a bit flat.

There's a time and a place for everything. Sound effects are nice when you're in the heat of battle, not while you're lounging in town.

Your solution was simple and logical, but far from practical. Having to adjust the volume settings every time one enters and leaves an outpost isn't practical by any stretch of the imagination. Fortunately, the good people at ANet realized they created an inconvenient situation and promptly fixed it.

Anet is like a jedi!
"It was as if a thousand nerds suddenly cried out at once to silence the mini-pet noise"
And it proves another golden point, Some people will always find something to complain about,

I can’t freaken believe this, now the Kuunavang has been taken away its value because of this update. I did not hop on the train and buy Factions CE for this. For the first time I hate all of these complainers, congratulations I will hand you your sign latter on. Yes I understand this sounds petty, but I was one of the ones who could care less about showing off my dam miniature.
If they wanted to take out the sound, I would understand in the outposts, but in the explore’able areas I think not. Yes to some of you it’s annoying I understand, but to others it’s just because of your envy you have to complain. I don’t blame A-net I just blame those who did complain, and did not come up with a more logical approach to this.

Mini-pets in town is a great idea but it loses a lot of value since you cannot name your mini-pet and your mini-pet inevitably spends most of it's time wandering very far away from you, hence nobody who sees it will realize that you own it.

Yes... let's make sweeping generalizations of every person who has a mini-pet out in town. Anet implements a neat feature and it seems most people can only post complaints.
A little less bitterness and sarcasm please.

Because of people like you my troll is now totally broken. If the mute the mini pets in towns? I don't mind at all but even if I go outside they are muted. That's upsets me.

Great Job ANET.
A week ago people were throwing away mini pets left and right for 5-10k .. now you put this in, and people think OH DAMN let's go jack up the price on the least popular minipets!!
"Selling Devourer -- 50k or trade for Kanaxai's Edge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1"
"Selling Mini Bone Dragon 100k +45e -- Serious buyers only!!!!!!"
EDIT
Also sweet job on allowing 20 per district. Nothing says community like "FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!!!!"
You're out of luck, AH HA!!!
So let's see ... 120 people per district.. 20 minipets .. 1/6 chance .. oh yea sure, you'll be able to use them

Making them mute is not "fixing" the sound issue. It is making the sound issue. My Troll is now quarlify for handicap for being a mute.
