This is turning into a really stupid argument with no real legitimate arguments, so why isn't it closed yet. Splits are meant to be able to kill the npcs if the other team doesn't respond quickly, or else why would the teams run splits? And if a team doesn't respond and gets all their archers, knights, and bodyguard killed, they deserve to lose anyways.

Splitting is a good part of the game. The issue that I have is that my guild lord is in a fort. When has anybody ever been able to assult a fort, kill 20-ish people without being killed, and was still able to kill the lord? IMHO that is kinda weak. It basically allows a team (and yes we do this too) to have a near full-powered offense at the flag stand while killing off their base in preperation for VoD. Now this promotes very boring matches, as there is typically not enough offense to make a lot of kills, but there is still plenty of defense to prevent kills, as getting to VoD with the NPC advantage is where the build is attempting to get.
Now, if the NPC's were balanced so that a 1 person split (if you could even call it that for Pete's sake) could never work, and a true split was necessary for a split squad to penetrate my fort, it would be 1000% more interesting.
I mean, yay...let's send 1 burning arrow ranger into their base, dump some stances and minor healing on them, and solo kill their entire fort! Sure we could send 1 toon back, but then...how many solo toons can kill a BA ranger or a BoA sin by themselves?
I was thinking about this, and there is only one way to fix it...my previous thought was kinda dumb.
Create a second NPC shout. This shout will be used only when inside the base walls. It will increase the armor level and damage level of all NPC's in it's range by x%. This shout will only work if no allied members are within the base walls (to prevent turtling). Further, it will decrease the armor and damage of all enemies entering the base. The balance would have to be made to ensure that this shout will completely prevent a solo ganker, but allow a 2-3 man team to be effective.
Now this plan would promote much stronger strategies within the game. Do you split, attempt to gank? Do you send in one ganker and attempt to kill npc's while the opponent's flag runner prevents the new shout from working while he's getting his flag from the base? Will the other team keep at the flag stand full force and try to roll over you? Will the other team split and attempt to stop your gank? (note that doing this will weaken the npc's back to their current level as the shout would instantly end)

The point of a split is to do exactly that, force the other team into a difficult decision if they don't have the tools to compensate.

Its your own build that is making the match boring, its not that the npcs die fast. Are you trying to say you cant make a decent split team and also get kills with your middle team?
Then we must doing magic

I think there's a pretty good balance now between the amount/skills of NPCs and 20 min vod. Back when vod was 30min+ it was often the case that neither team would have many (if any) NPCs left for the guild lord trot. Now there seems to be a better balance, which makes for a more interesting VOD.
If you buff archers, the flag stand would be ridiculous at vod. It's already a lot of pressure now. The whole point of archers imo is their vod push, rather than their individual pressure.

My 2 cents:
Interupt on archers: bad idea
defensive stances on archers: bad idea
elite skill on NPCs: bad idea
damage buff for archers: Although I'd like to see that, I can't imagine what VoD would be like if the archers had, say, kindle arrows. bad idea
better skillbar for guild lord: good idea
better skills for bodyguard: decent idea
"Watch Yourself!" On knights: decent idea
+armor shout for NPCs in base: decent idea
-damage shout on NPCs to combat gankers: bad idea
skillbar change for guild thief: good idea (she should be a valuable tool to bring with you while ganking, not just a key to leave at the door)
BoA sin for guild thief: bad idea
