4 step solution to getting rid of idiots

1) open friends list
2) click on ignored
3) enter in idiot's name
4) hit enter

repeat steps 2-4 as necessary until all idiots are gone.

As for me personally, I've never gotten grief over armour and I own 10 sets of 15k armour and a set of Vabbian. Of the 15k sets one is Luxon and I bought all the Jadeite when it it was worth over 1k, a Kurzick set of which I bought most of it. I also bought a number of the Rubies and Sapphires for the Vabbian as well. All told I've probably spent over a million gold on armour and I've got over a million in storage and on mules, none of which was ebayed. Most of the people that are probably giving you grief over what armour you're wearing are probably insecure preteens that actually think that there's some prestige in having 15k armour, or uber rare l33t greens or weapon skins. Personally, I just buy stuff that I think looks good. Beyond that, nothing else really matters.

You see people being abused for wearing high-end armor? Really? I don't recall seeing that ever...

If anything, I used to compliment people on their armor when I was new (and the game was new) and people were actually impressed by FoW enough to say something. I also used to receive occasional whispers "nice armor" or "what armor is that" back when fissure was rare (although it wasn't quite so rare even back then if you've ever been to tombs int1) but I've never seen people flame over that...

So I think you're just overinflating the problem over a couple jaded scrubs.

I'm like others, I only see it when they are bringing attention to themselves and it's not that others are jealous, since there is nothing to be jealous about. It's that they are feeling sorry for the person mostly, that they feel they need to draw attention to themselves and/or that they bought armor for a ridiculous amount, when max armor is available elsewhere for next to nothing and looks just as good or better.

I have been in the game since near the beginning and I could have 15K or better armor on all my characters and even fissure on a few if I had chose to, but I don't see the point. Because of price and looks both. I don't farm, I get my money by playing the game and opening up chests along the way, making good sales (buy low, sell high), so I earn my money.

I have Vabbian Armor on my Derv that was her first high end armor and too me isnt really a big deal, I find no armor in this game is actually a big deal and if you want to purchase it go ahead it is your game and you should be happy with whatever you do.

I really have had no issues with people being verbally abusive over what type of armor or weapons you wear that is a new one to me over the almost 2 yrs I have been playing this game, mostly everything is attainable either by gathering or purchasing of the items.

2 weeks or less? A month maybe, but 2 weeks?

Really? All but 1 of my ascendeds have 15k. I choose based on what I like. The 1 who doesn't in my nf mm. She has a whole evil pixie thing. Ishani top/gloves (pixie wings) with a vabbian shirt, all blue mix that matches her hair. Even her offhand is a straw effigy dyed the same blue so its like a lil' blue voodoo doll. I have a monk in black fow, ritualist in black 15k luxon etc. all of which I chose because -I- like them, not their "l33tness" but you know what? I get the most compliments on the MM's. Cheapest set, but the overall looks just rocks. She makes me smile, I want her outfit! I've never had a negative comment about my chars armor, but tons of whispered compliments. Get what YOU like, not what costs/others like! Ignore the buttheads and enjoy the cool people and have fun

I think it's the other way around, really.

Some random newbie warrior spent like 10 minutes yelling at me for wearing 1.5k Kurzick on my female monk while flaunting his 15k random butt-ugly warrior armour. If I wanted 15k, I'd buy 15k. If I wanted FoW, I'd buy FoW. I want 1.5k Kurzick though, and I don't really see why I should be picking anything else on account of the loudmouthed idiots. They're always going to be there.

2 weeks is more than sufficient if you know what you are doing.

I know what I'm doing, but have to resort to trading and farming other areas more than half the time. We NEVER have favor when I get on. If we had favor most of the time or didnt have the favor system, then ya 2 weeks is doable.

Funnily enough... Ancient armour is one of the sets that actually look OK in grey. But as for my colour...

Oh my... Hmmm... It's got purple in it... IIRC, either purple + orange or purple + red. Ancient doesn't dye too well... but at least the trim's pretty in pink.

Yeah... That sums me up perfectly - Spiky, pink and useless at tanking.

It is highly more likely that some people with "high-end" armor often fondle their e-peens frequently in public via attitudes and snide remarks.

I can't really imagine elite armor wearers as being a victimized class that everyone ridicules.

i make sure to give all my chars at least one set of high-end armor, and nobody has ever once given me grief about it.

however, a guildie of mine is often harassed about his legendary survivor title. not that he cares, since he earned it legitimitely.

People who have it are
- happy with it.
- like to show that they care about their characters looks and willing to spend gold on it.

People who don't have it are
- whining because they are to lazy to farm but like the looks and want it
- whining because they have no time to farm... comes the questing: "why should something that others worked for be yours if you don't/can't?" I want a Ferarri too! *
- not interested in armors
- playing multiple characters through all the chapters and can't collect enough gold that way.
* Offcourse I assume people collected the items/gold ingame, else you cheat yourself. And I don't see the fun in that tbh.

Either way, it doesn't give any reason to flame at someone because he has it and is happy with it. If you hate it leave it. Easy as that.

Not everybody with high-end armor gets thier cash from ebay. I've got a friend who got his 15k druids legit from merchanting, which is probably the most popular way of making cash. Don't get me wrong there are other ways to make money, but specifically, my friend merchanted.

Out of 14 characters with max armor, I've got three sets of 15k and one set of Vabbi. The latest two sets I bought were both 1.5k Kurzick sets, because those are the ones I wanted for those characters. The previous two sets before that were 15k Imperial and a Vabbi set. (The Vabbi set was the most expensive overall with the cost of gems and white dye - the total was well upward of 150k.) I play a lot to get multiple characters through the game, but most of the time I play with full groups, I don't farm, and I've never eBay'd anything game-related. If you're even half conservative with your spending it's not difficult at all to come up with enough gold for a 15k set, so I just don't see it as a big deal except to brand-new players.

I earned my FoW armour through lots of runs into the Fissure and bought most of my ectos from the money I made back when it was like 6K for an ecto.

I only got grief once. I was in with a FoW team and one of the monks kept bugging me about what I was doing in there as I already had my armour. Other than that, only compliments.
