I'm in that far off land right now. And we do know what we will be celebrating this Saturday... The invention of beer!

hrm i will only be interested if they are as strong as the spiked eggnogs...although the 4leaf clover maybe interesting if it actually does something unlike the lunar tokens that said the gave you good luck...but i never seen anything from it..

Off topic, but beer was found in Egypt.
Back on topic, anyone else think the clovers might increase drop rate?

i wonder if the clovers are something you use, or if they are something you use to trade something for ......like they are tokens of some kind........but it does say a party bonus when used.....maybe like Rainbow CC?

It may be St Patrick's Day, but who's to say that ANet shouldn't take the opportunity to vaguely introduce the lands and people of the next chapter?
Quote:
A mysterious celebration from a far-off realm will influence our fine lands this weekend...
Perhaps stranger than the foliage-tinged festival itself was the source of my information. A man no taller than a dwarf, with hair as orange as an Ascalonian sunset and clothing greener than the Maguuma jungle approached me...
|
Sure, the whole thing bears a hearty resemblance to Irish culture, but is it just coincidence that an in-game celebration of St Patrick's Day arrives on the eve of Chapter 4 information being released? 'Far-off realm' and 'man no taller than a dwarf, with hair as orange as an Ascalonian sunset' are enough to convince me that this is not a one-off event. Any distant land, no matter how many miles of sprawling ocean it lies across, is a part of the Guild Wars world and, knowing us adventurous folk, as soon as we hear of a new place to explore and conquer we'll be packing our bags for the voyage.

Awww...I hope its more than Ale and "candy canes"...
They really had my hopes up for something cool and exciting dropping from monsters, but beer and magical food wasn't what I was hoping for...
Oh well...I guess I can always give away my alcohol to all those drunks hanging around town...

yeah pretty minimalistic, though we didn't know there would be anything until this week.
ales are just another skin for the same thing, and we'll have to see what the clover gives......I'm guessing its like a lunar fortune but it could be an area condition.......or something
