Precisely why none of us should "Read into this" and start believing that this has to be the next game title.
So "Utopia" is not out of the question, "Eye of the North" isn't out of the question. But, even though I am against all of this, if I have to pick a name I see them going with, it would be "Utopia". Why you ask?
Guildwars: Prophecies
Guildwars: Factions
Guildwars: Nightfall
Do you see the pattern?

Well the pattern doesn't matter because EYE OF THE NORTH (according to The Inquierer) is not a campaign and its an add on, which is different from Factions and Nightfall. I still do not understand why you think its UTOPIA when its not even Trademarked and Gaile has said countless times that it is not it.

Gaile has said countless times that ch4 is not utopia, but it was initially going to be for some sort of GW-related project that IIRC got canned

Their actual statement was "It actually was used as a project name for an unannounced project, but we do not intend to use it for a product name" - which many people interpreted to mean that it was cancelled; but it could just as easilly mean that it was the development name for either rumored products "Guild Wars:Eye of the North" or "Guild Wars 2" (assuming that either or both are real).

As for eye of the north, the domain name eyeofthenorth.org has been bought by NCsoft AND the name Guild Wars: Eye of the North has been trademarked.

Apparently you didn't read my post enough did you?
I said if I had to pick one, it would be Utopia. I did not say "I think it is", I said if I had to pick, that would be the one I pick. Secondly, it is more on a basis of ANET's appeal to One-Name titles. Utopia fits that, not Eye of the North.
Next: Don't listen to anything The Inquierer says, we know nothing yet. As someone has stated, ANET could have copyrighted those due to a "fear" of someone else doing it and putting them in a very tight situation. Seems sort of late to be copyrighting a game that could be coming out very soon doesn't it? Use a little logic for this sort of thing to understand that yes, there is a chance this is it, but this could also be a way of ANET insuring, should they want, that they have that title solely to them.
Lastly: Again, as someone has recently stated in this thread - on the guildwars website if you search around, you will discover that they state the next game is a campaign, not a add-on.
Overall, do not attempt to make me look like a babbling baboon. You are the one who hasn't read this topic, kept an eye on it and understand what people are thinking, what they do or don't know and what they expect to see in the next few days.
Yes, you can attempt to set me in my place in just a matter of hours really. And if it is the case, congratulations! Guildwars: Eye of the North Expansion will go entirely against many things they have stated. Guildwars: Eye of the North Campaign will be in their way. Guildwars: The North, sounds like something up their alley. Guildwars: We have no idea so let's stop speculating and keep stirring the pot, also sounds like a genius idea.

names dont mean anything in being real or not. There are so many games that have expansions that have 1 word names or 4 word names.
but anyways its an expansion not and actual game.
Look at Diablo.
it was Diablo 1
then Diablo 2
then Diablo: Lord of Distructrion
it had a longer name so yea!

Blizzard != ArenaNet/NCSoft
The fact that the name has been trademarked and domains snatched leads me to beleive that EotN is going to be the official chapter name.
The 15th can't come fast enough.

Why do people get PC gamer on the 15th? It feels like I just got my issue a couple weeks ago, time for another already?

magazine companies like putting out issues months early, because if as person sees a 'may' issue in march, theyre going to think its newer than all of the other magazines and buy that one.
correct me if im wrong, thats my logic at least.

That's the date that some other subscriber stated, and that was also the date that I think was mentioned much earlier in this thread...so yes, i would think subscribers get it around then.

I was hoping there would be a mentioning of an auction house. hope they rework their code to implement some sort of system to move items from one person to another efficiently across timezones, and the auction house model in WoW is the standard. I'm sure GW can do at least 10x better.
Also I hope they unveil a few expansions between Eye of the North and GW2. Maybe just another elite mission or something for $15.00 or something. Just something to keep people coming back. Would like GW2 to be massively successful.

You know thinking about it now; maybe just maybe, they were thinking about continuing the original GW series beyond chapter 4 (probably up to campaign 6). However something happened; which inevitably changed their minds and say, “let’s move on.” If it is true about GW 2, that is.
Hopefully they continue on the original GW and won’t retire it anytime soon.

Firstly, to those of you saying that its pointless speculating, and that we should just wait for the article, I say this. I enjoy some speculation. I enjoy reading what other people think might come to pass, and sharing my thoughts with them. Maybe you don't. There's a simple solution to this: Don't read the thread.

I was thinking that too. Perhaps the reason that they've decided to discontinue the original GW (assuming of course that GW2 is actually happening according to that article) is that they want to rebuild the engine to accomodate new ideas they've had/we've suggested that the old engine just isn't able to handle.
These new features could include new races, auction house, changes to how a character's appearance is generated to enable players to change after creation. That last one is suggested quite often, and it could be that once your character is created, its appearance is hardcoded into the server. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement an auction house into the current system, but the idea of different races probably needs a complete revision of the character creation screen. Maybe they plan to make a new engine to allow for these features.

No. It's just a number on a hard drive and can be changed at will, else you'd never be able to delete characters.
