This is what I love so much about Anet, I can surmize the most rational and creative conclusion, and Anet discovers or recognizes the same features.

This is somewhat of a surprise, because they said they were working on chapter 4, and they changed gears to start production of a grander MMO version of GW. And though it will take longer than I like (waiting is the worst) I am glad they are getting started sooner rather than later.

I've suggested many radical ideas which push the envelope and combine the most radical and attractive features available to gameplay, and I hope they are planning to include many of these and more, to bring the full scope (as large as possible) into one game.

A new engine has already been mentioned, as well as jumping, sliding (I presume downhill), and swimming. I hope it also includes features like Climbing, functional 3D mechanics, Sailing and Sea Exploration (freely), perhaps even certain amounts of flight by means of magic or such.

I also hope Anet can develope revolutionary character and profession mechanics which involve different races, and even creatures, as well as dynamic character developement including statuses or professions that allow 2 and 3 combinations, or even a solitary feature under a unique construct. I really hope Anet will include many obscure and facinatring features which are uncommon and unorthodox to MMO gameplay.

I'm also looking forward to a vibrant story built on the very impressive background we already have, including better story immersion and connection with characters, as well as character identity developement which will allow us to create a personality around our character and increase the legitimate "role playing" element in a genre which has strayed far from it's original identity.

I really hope GW2 will involve all of the features and gameplay best in exsisting MMOs, wile continuing to cut out the fat and monotinous tasks which arn't part of gameplay satisfaction. I hope they will include the minigame and alternate gameplay features of accomplished console games and combine them with the grandure and diveristy of the best MMOs.

One of my primary interests is the creation and developement of these minigame like features replacing boring tasks and grind of each sort, so pursuing wealth and achievement can be as fun or more fun than the typical gameplay itself.

These are the type of features which could outstrip WoW and rise to new levels of success. I only hope Arena.net will succeed in developing the pinnacle of gameplay instead of cutting short and falling into the shadow of an already established and successful MMO. Arena.net could outstrip its ForeFather if they utilize the features already grand in many games and the advances in technology and gameplay. Here's to expecting the best.

P.S. I was about to say this in the GW2 sticky, but I returned to the OP and remembered how inaccurate the OPs views were from what we are learning about GW2, and what should be available in a sequel.

Wouldn't chapter 4 technically be Eye of the North (GWEN)?
Also I'm looking froward to this game as well. But in the posted thingy at the main page, it would appear that we may have to pay because as described, some poor bastards have to coordinate the game 24/7. One guy does this realm, the next does this realm... Oh goodness, overload, we may need another server... hmmmmm...... sounds suspicious, but I hope they can keep their promise.
But I'm also wondering about the "travel" function. Will it be there in GW2? Or will we have to traverse the seas again to go from one place to another? Sounds poopy, but I hope ANET keeps the traveling stuff.
As for the story... Well... we're going to have to wait for reviews before the release or just get it ourselves.
Don't really see why this thread was moved here since it's not really a suggestion... But that's what the moderator likes.

I actually really want to see map travel go. Its the most unrealistic feature of GW and ruins the feeling of my character being an explorer.

It is suggestion heavy, and I would like to know which genious moderator moved it. Probably the same one who stickied a suggestion thread for gw2 which was opened with completely innaccurate and unreasonable ideas.

Beside that, Eye of the North is said to be an expansion, it will supposedly require one of the exsisting chapters, and is ment to synergize the exsisting 3 chapters with the upcoming sequel. I only read reports and reviews on the articles so far, but what I gathered is that it will not be stand alone and there woln't be new professions.

As for Travel, losing map travel would definetly be an improvement to world immersion. Wile ease of gameplay and action make the game enjoyable, it is a feature explored already in GW, and GW2 should be focusing on diversifying into better features. And obviously if you remove map travel Anet will incorperate quick travel features which can cross massive distances quickly, and cover local travel better as well.

I would be lying if i say i didn't use it. But then again IRL if i could map travel to my holiday destination i wouldn't do it because its all about the journey.

The removal of map travel will make things more realistic (and by more I mean a LOT more).

However, I recall in Tyria you spent several missions, if GW was real-life, perhaps a couple of weeks crossing the Shiverpeaks from Ascalon into Kryta. I don't want that again.

Perhaps some towns are like portal nexuses and have portals that lead to each major region, such as some wizard's tower in Kryta with portals to any major region you've been to. After you get into the general region, you can rely on mounts or something for getting to the specific locations within.

lol, in a game with magic, warriors and rangers who somehow have an infinite supply of arrows....map travel is the most unrealistic?:P If you're looking for realistic, I would suggest going out side.

I love map travel. Just pretend you have a magic map in your pocket - it's part of your rarified adventurer status, like magically resurrecting at shrines set up for you even in the nightmare realm of an insane god.

IF they take map travel, and make us grind for 1 mil until we get a mount, then I'll just stick with GW1, or try Tabula Rasa and Aion.
