I'm sure your male mesmer will enjoy his new minipet.
I'm kidding!!! I'm kidding!!!!
It's fun to have a lighthearted subject every once in a while to rib people on. I'm sure that this will be a highly sought after minipet for "cuteness" alone...I don't think comparisons to the Grey Giant are fair, since that thing is probably the ugliest thing out there in the game.

Probably the only mini pet I'll get rid of and have none.
If that is to be a playable race as well, I'll stick to my human characters.
Don't need no big eared, round eyed, popeye armed, premature rabbit creature.

I think the Asuran looks amazing. I am not a female nor under 12 year olds. Just because you think it's ugly does not make it a fact. Ever heard that thing about beauty and the eyes of the beholder?

no, that would be looks dont matter.
beauty in the eyes of the beholder just means everyone has diffrent prefrences, and it appears all the children on this board do not prefer this creature much.

Anyone know if is it going to be available in Spain?
The Grey Giant was through a magazine called "Micromania".

This thing does not belong in the game. It is cute, I am sure that the person who made it is proud as peaches, and I think they should be, as ANet makes top quality stuff. But appropriate? Lets do a quick stage-play here.
Example:
Host: "Welcome back to our talk show, we have 4 guests tonight. They can introduce themselves!"
Guest 1: "I am Vizier Khilbron! I have a staff that can raise thousands of hungry blood sucking undead! I have legions of flaming inhuman titans to slaughter you all! I raise my enemies and force them to fight their friends for amusement!"
Guest 2: "I am Shiro, and I assassinated the Emperor! My minions are bulbous infected bloodthirsty puppets that obey my will like the soulless husks they are! I cause seas to turn to jade and forests to petrify! Fear my return!"
Guest 3: "I am Abbadon, god of pain and torture. I will turn the world into an evil place with stabby things sprouting up everywhere. My margonites slaughter innocent priests and my minions betray everyone and everything they believe in!"
Guest 4: "Hi, I am a cutesy big-eared lovable huggable guy who cares about the whole world! Yay! Can I be your friend?"
Oh yeah, that big-eared thingy really fits in.
There might be a better venue for this, like in Toontown.
Get that rabbit out of here.

^Well of course he's not going to fit in there. You put him in with the three big bad guys from the previous campaigns. The Asurians will probably just be a race we encounter like the dwarves of deldrimor.

It's definitely not what I was expecting from a possible new playable race. It does look cuter and more cartoony than anything I've seen in GW before, and it does seem out of place BUT that might be because it's the FIRST AND ONLY THING in GW I've actually seen with a smile. And of course his eyes are huge.
Gaile mentioned that the mini-pet has other facial expressions. Maybe an Asura doesn't look so cutesy when it's not smiling.
Honestly I'm very curious about the new race and how it fits in with the Guild Wars world that has grown on me so much. Are Asurians more an underdog race like hobbits or gnomes, or are they super-beings? Are they good, evil, or unpredictable like humans? What size are they when they aren't in mini-pet form? Do any members of the race have hair? What is the range of their skin tones? And most important of all where the hell do they come from?
The most interesting speculation to me is whether our current characters will get facial expressions like /laugh and /smile in GW:EN or wait until GW2. It wouldn't make sense for only an Asura mini to be the only thing in the GW1 world with facial expressions.

If it's just going to be a minipet and an encountered monster I can beat the stuffing out of, or a henchman like the tengu, fine. I'll do whatever I can to avoid exposure. If it's going to be a playable race though, I'll pass.

I'm pretty apathetic toward the situation, mainly because upon the first week of buying the magazine I'll sell the minipet for 50-80k and be content from that.
IMO though, this thing better be an enemy and do the Galaxy Quest gag.

Now, having said that, please be aware that the list may be expanded over coming weeks as more magazines finalise their coverage of the upcoming GW news. That coverage may include offering the Asura miniature. However, I will re-iterate: the ultimate choice of whether to offer it or not is made by the magazines.

Thank you for the quick reply.
(...)
And it's sad to see you all flame just for the pleasure of it. I bet if there was something you didn't like, or considered unsatisfactory, you would all complain too, in fact, just like it's constantly happening.
In future threads I'll remember to agree on everything the majority is standing for, and not say anything about my personal thoughts. That way, maybe I wont get ridicularized.
(I wonder, If I offended someone, I would get hanged.. I'm glad I'm not like that.)

According to Mr. Weekes, we'll have to wait and see if the Iberian Peninsula gets anything.
