First of all...

Thank you ArenaNet! It was really a surprise to see our local gaming magazine (South Africa, New Age Gaming) in the list.. and it made me all warm and fuzzy inside . I am a supporter of both the magazine and GW.. and its great to know i am getting something out of the both of them.

To Zappa... there are a lot of South African players on the Europe servers. Id suggest you do some research before you start the "Why South Africa?" rant.

Me to ^^;

I like the pet, and it's named (almost) like my main character, but there are no magazines coming out in Poland with that code (WHY?? CD-Action is more then able to do that. They already gave away a ton of Factions Trial codes <_< ) so unless I manage to import one somehow I'm screwdrived

My thoughts exactly.

Needless to say I'm not a big friend of Jar Jar Binks, to put it mildly.

I'd like a new title based on the number of Asura minipets trashed.

Once again the US gets preferential treatment. Getting it almost a month before the rest of the world? Why?

Oh and note to Anet PLEASE do not go the route of WoW and create cartoony crappy graphics. Stick as you are, it's worked so far and look FAR better.

Agreed. I seriously think that no matter what the thing looked like, there would be complainers.

Why does it matter if the US gets the magazine a month before everyone else? It'll probably be the same as for the gray giant offer, where they had to be able to play Nightfall to get it. You probably can't get the minipet till the new game is released, and it will be released simultaneously around the world.

And if you want news on the actual article, I can guarantee that you'll hear all about it on here, or on Guildwiki, the day the magazine first reaches the public.

With its big black eyes and ashen white skin it looks like some kind of cave dwelling creature to me, and not accustomed to sunlight.

New slaves for the Stone Summit – hooray!

Bleh, did they have to pick another already-used sci-fi creature name?

that model is one of the best models in the game we've seen so far

sorry....but define cartoony...it isnt even cartoony at all IMO...its how the creature's supposed to look

by saying that its crappy, ur indirectly insulting the art team. ArenaNet's art team is one of the best in the world
(infact, after reading several comments on in being ugly, i really feel sorry for ArenaNet esp after theyve put in so much effort into it)

The pet is freaky.... and I was a bit surprised to get something of it's kind in GW (it reminded me quite a lot of Final Fantasy for some reason).... but I still want it! It's strangely cute too.

I don't think it's cartoony at all. It's just a creature that looks like that, and imho it looks completely acceptable as something that could live in a real-life setting. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of role they will play in future GW chapters/expansions/games.

Kuunavang is bad enough with her "hhrrrrrrrumph" noises as she flies around.

Hopefully Anet will decide to get a code to us Australians though. It is a bit inconvenient to have to have a simple magazine shipped from the US if we want a mini pet without buying it in game (I also enjoy doing the quests to gain them, like the grey giant, so buying one in game isn't really something I want to do)
All up it cost about $12 US. We actually ordered 4 extra copies of the last one, which we were hoping to sell on ebay for some decent money, but that was before we saw that the market was completely flooded with them.

Here's the link:

You have to order it as a back issue, but all you have to do is wait until the next mag comes out after that one, which will probably be before the European one's come out anyway. However, they do take a long time to ship, so you probably won't get them until everyone else already has there.

For those griping about how the character looks so cartoony, here's an example of a real life cartoony creature.

http://images.google.com/images?q=bu...mages&ct=title

There are tons of real animals that have huge eyes and ears, so I guess they're all cartoons then.

No, I mean, obviously it looks like it fits into GW perfectly!

Edit: To make the world a more "happy", "truthful" place.

*looks at Asuran* Eh? I see textures and colours there. There's even different hues for the skin tone. And look at the ornate clothing. What are you talking about?
