Yeah, just ordered GW2 and GW2-addon too We will see if the 8/27/07 date will be correct, it's not even near the 'holiday season'.
Ah well, its $10 cheaper in comparison to the other campaigns, at least they got that right.

EB is likely guessing on the release date since there's been no official announcement as far as I know. They do that all the time when they start pre-orders before a release date has been set.

EB is an online computershop. Why would Dynabyte's release date be valid?

No release date is the correct on till A.net themselves give an annoicement on the release date.
So it could be still set for a holiday release... or maybe not.

I'm not telling that they are wright, but in my experience with them, they do not pre-order games or programms when they are not sure that it's comming around that date
BTW. It's a holiday release --> end 08(EB) and beginning 09(dynabyte) is holiday

The American holiday season starts in the last week of November, if I'm correct (so month 11 and 12). It's not the same as our 'summer holiday' (which is indeed month 8 and 9). So don't expect a release of GW:EN before November. Of course, you can still pre-order, you just have to wait for a bit longer...

they just want your money as fast as possible, they have no idea when it comes out they just want cash now and they want to find people that will pay now.
especially since they have not paid for the shipments yet.

Preorders quite this early can at times prove to be problematic later on. It's best to wait at least 'til two or three months before release.

Yeah, the dates are probably a bit off or completely wrong, these stores takes guesses but they are not just random guesses , they look at the past , when the companies have said , in a certain period and have each time released it on the same date, its likely that they will do that again.
They may also look at other companies that sell the same type of game, lets say WoW was releasing a expansion pack in the holiday seasonand they had announced a date, its safe to assume that Anet ( at that moment havent not yet announced it) maybe announce they will release a few days before the WoW expansion just to "steal" a few costumers from WoW.
So yeah, ill just wait for when Anet announces it.
Did anyone see the pic provided on the Dynabyte site for the box cover?
Looks pretty nice.

Ummm never paid before product was shipped with EB so doubt that. and yes they sometimes do just put a date on there pri but you can get e-mailed if that date changes. And even release dates givin by makers are sometimes not correct they can always be released early or late so don't focus on the date tell it gets near just know you can pri and forget about not getting a copy when it hits stores.

When I pre-ordered Nightfall at Bol.com (another dutch site, but also english and more), the price was the same for the CE version as the normal version ^^. I hope they make that mistake again.
And you DO NOT have to pay beforehand for pre-orders, at least not at Bol.com.
Question to Anet: Will there be a CE version of GW:EN as well?

Being the first company to offer a pre-order usually entices more gamers to look up the game on the net and then pre-order with them rather than another company. It's a way of snagging customers before they think about pre-ordering elsewhere.

I found that I prefer pre-order anywhere except Gamestop/EB from past experience with that company.
Also going to wait till there is an official yeah/nah on a CE version.
The date is pure guess work on there part.
