I know everyone is excited for Guild Wars 2 and I dont mean to be the damper on your exciement here but it doent come out for 2 years everyone. Whats the point in all these threads about Guild Wars 2 when it has a very long time before it comes out, cant we still enjoy Guild Wars 1? I mean you play vide games for fun it shouldnt matter if you lose your fow armor or all your money because you should be playing for fun and not for acquiring stuff. After all you owning fow armor means nothing to anyone in real life...

Tell me, what's a special weapon?
I also wonder what a special weapon would be. My first thought is weapons that are gained after you beat Factions/Nightfall? perhaps EotN will have something like this and its reffering to it.

Anet DOES love us.
What would make you want to do this anyway that is if you want to kill off your Monk and put them in the HoH.Who knows if there will be Monks in GW2 and the armour could be way different in 200 years.Who knows what professions will be and what type of armour they will have.What difference does you rank have in 200 years past?The only profession I know that will be in it will be Warrior and maybe no Assassins or Dervishs.200 years is sometime past.

You know, every time in my life that I have really accomplished something, i.e., I did it, it's over, I'm moving to the next thing now, the first thing that happens is that I find myself at the bottom of a new hierarchy and all my previous achievements are taken for granted.

I find the desire to be petted and coddled thanks to previous accomplishments kind of mystifying. It has nothing to do with the way that life works, especially if you live in the present and look to the future, instead of wallowing in the past.

Do you walk around with your fifth grade spelling bee medal pinned to your chest on your first day of high school? Do you wear your prom dress to your wedding? Do you show up for your first day at work at a new job wearing a varsity jacket and bragging about your college GPA? No, no, and no.

Golden Sun
The Golden Sun series was different. You just had to transfer from GS1 to GS2 if you wanted to beat GS2 100%. It's slightly different in this case.

~~~read.... the.... articles~~~~~
it says NOTHING about a box to put anything you want in... it specifically states that you "unlock" monuments that will in turn grant you access to special items/weapons/titles...etc...
a display case doesnt mean a storage chest....
why would A-net bring anyones graphically inferior model like a non normal mapped gothic sword....over to a graphically up to date (normal mapped etc....) game with much more visually impressive weapons in it...? If you dont know what I mean look at these pictures....
look at the lion on this sheild
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Thorgall%27s_Shield
and compare it with this one...
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Shield_of_the_Lion
these sheilds are only a year or so apart if I'm not mistaken...the mapping on the most recent being superior.
now think about it... do you want to be running around with a visually pitiful IDS when the rest of us have much sweeter looking weapons???
Uh, that makes no sense. Why would you transfer gold if it wasn't usable/different to the gold in GW2? Besides the whole idea of transferring gold is just ridiculous.
from the PCGamer on hall of monuments
that is GW1 items specified not GWEN items
but those will only be starter level stat items with the huge meaningful new level cap of 100 or even higher.
K.
Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, etc...
Close, but those follow the universal D&D rules, making them rather different--and very easy to transfer characters over.
There are no universal GW rules. They've already said the classes in their current forms won't all continue to exist--how could you transfer your Assassin when they drop Assassins entirely?
I was very unhappy about Guild Wars 2 also. But I started to finally come around to the idea when I heard about the Hall of Monuments. And that they took the time to think about the players whom have been with the game the whole time and made the game what it is today. Investing hours and hours of game play. I think Guild Wars 2 will be Awesome! I think it'll do things that no other mmo is doing or has done. I also like hearing that they'll continuing make little things in Guild Wars 1 until then like Halloween and other Holiday things, which by the way I love the April Fools prank, I went to Kamadan and I was a girl. Pretty cool becuase I always wondering what my Charactor would have looked like as a girl with the armor I have and everything. So Im happy now also. Thanks Guild War team, EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!
They also use the same engine - exact same engine - for the games, as well. Baldur's Gate (and Icewind Dale, I and II) used the Infinity Engine. Neverwinter Nights just used different modules; they weren't even new games, really. Just new levels.
How can you hate a game you havn't played that hasn't been finished or even gone to alpha yet nobody can give any opinion untill GW2 is released. It's a whole new game not and expansion your argument is like saying i'm lvl 60 in WOW why can't i start at lvl 20 in GW
