Vera or Ugly Stick wasn't small, in fact it was bigger than average warrior weapons!

Speaking of greens, I was in the Foundry last night with my ele and beat it ... and a guildie got a jet-black Green Shield from The Black Beast of Arrgh, which I'm helping him sell since he's not very good at selling stuff larger than 100k.

When I equipped it, I thought it was it was a pretty tall shield. Then again, I equipped it on my Rit just for the purpose of a screenshot and she's relatively short. Although, I would have preferred the Aegis of Terror (based on looks, not stats) if I want a black Green shield. Out of the black Greens shields out there, I have to dig that one.

I just wish greens had unique skins...Most are just some regular weapon and occasionaly they are dyed.

[wiki]Wahli's Blade[/wiki] is pretty nice. Adamantine falchion skin with good stats (where's the freakin' vamp/defense green though?).

Some do, some don't. If you don't like the way they look but like the stats, most of the greens can be fully replicated. Just buy a skin you like.

Some are ugly, some are not.

Take lots of the New UW greens, for example (though they're worthless to begin with). Milius' Pillar, Illyana's Staff, Kole's Torment. They all look the same. Not just that, but their "shared" model is just a shadow staff.

Mostly personal preference. For example, I find NF monk armor ugly in every set compare to Faction and Prophecies armors, but many others like it and still use it over old armors ( maybe because of inscribable). Same with weapons.

Um. Van Gogh was a post-impressionist, expressionism was a 20th century movement. And modern art starts WELL before Van Gogh - generally with either Jacque Louis David's Oath of the Horatii, which is 18th c., or else Manet, so mid 19th c.

And, incidentally - all of this art is subjective stuff. There's some truth to it, but it's a wildly exaggerated notion. You can like modern art or renaissance art, but the fact of the matter is that museums exist because it is generally agreed that some things are more worthy than others. The happy-happy-joy-joy-love-and-accept-everyone's-creative-endeavors MO is for grade school art classes.

Elemental fire weapons for instance; they always just re-use the bog standard staff and wand skins that we get from common drops.

Air, earth and water greens tend to look alot nicer then fire gear. They look unique. The only unique item we get for Fire is Ragos.
What about Exuro's Will? The face in the flames looks soo cool

there are those who like fellblades and there are those who like bo staves.

there are strange skins in your eyes and those same skins may lok great in others. my best friends thinks urgoz's longbow is cool, to me it looks like ginger root.

to each his own.

however, i am grateful for green items since they do provide me with the cheapest way to get perfectly modded weapons for my heroes. take kepkhet's refuge. it's 3K. that's the price of the insightful staff head alone.

My single biggest complaint is using standard weapon skins for rare items. Seems pretty lazy to me, but then there are lots of examples in game of lazy programming etc..

It does seem a little cheap to me when a green looks exactly like a regular drop, without even a special color. But I love the idea of them - for quite a long time my monk ran around dyed "boss blue" and wielding Brohn Stonehart's wand and focus. When asked I would just say, "I ARE BROHN!"

I don't think the Gavel is ugly. But it would have been better if that hammer was a little bigger. I mean, look at the size of the head, it's too small compared to other hammers.

I understand what you're saying, the hammer being a weapon and all, but the reason that the head is small is because it's a gavel, one of those small hammer-like things that judges use to get order. (Which, once again, proves that beauty and make-sense-ness are both in the eye of the beholder)

i used to have kanaxis edge for my warrior but now i've finally got the gothic sword i want i'm selling it to buy mods i think a lot of the time finding the right skin for your armour (15K kurzic) looks better than going for the most expensive skin around

You HAVE to be joking. You can't expect every skin to look like a Stygian Reaver. The game NEEDS some simple skins such as gladius' and short swords. And yea, the programmers don't make the weapons last time I checked.
