"Poll": What do you use your extra armor sets for?
Like the title says. A lot of people have extra armor sets and they cant be for farming because most of the sets are pretty expensive (I guess they could be for farming if your just really rich..).
So heres the poll:
Question 1) How many armor sets do you have on your favorite character?
Question 2) What do you use with these armor sets?
A)"I have it for looks, duh!"
B)"Farming"
C)"A change in build calls for a change in looks, everyone knows that"
D)"Other"
The reason i'm doing this is because i'm making a ritualist and I like at least 3 armor sets I want to get her. Thanks for the replies!
(This goes for obviously any class/any armor)

Linking armor to Builds, is, IMO, one of the worst ideas about Guild Wars.
I'm really hoping GW2 goes away from this, or if Attributes ARE linked to armor, there is a MUCH better way to manage it. Because now, you have a pretty nice interface in order to pick your skills and attributes together, but then have to go into another interface to swap armor. Minor, I know, but irritating, especially since you need to collect multiple sets of armor in order to really have a flexible character.
That said, I've somehow managed to have two sets for three characters:
Warrior: Glad for energy; and a basic Cantha for + 20 armor in Stance (swap helmets for Axe, Sword, or Hammer)
Mesmer: Energy / Dom set.; + armor when enchanted / illusion set for Illusionary Weapon build.
Ele: + armor when enchanted / Fire set; a Sunspear set for looks only
So, in short, I take multiple sets for looks and for utiliterian purposes. I do, however, feel limited by armor for the amount of builds I can use.

1) All the builds I play regularly have 2 sets, 15k and 1.5k.
2) All my 15k armor are set up for general adventuring, good for just about anywhere. 1.5k on my ranger is for my touch build for desert farming. 1.5k on my necro is extra protection/blood build for tombs. 1.5k on my warrior is a hammer setup. 1.5k on my monk is extra energy. 1.5k on my ele just ups my health. The collectors armor for my mesmer is purely for looks.

Question 1) How many armor sets do you have on your favorite character? 2 15k sets for my necro.
Question 2) What do you use with these armor sets?
I have no idea why I bought the second set, since I rarely wear it.

2)
A) Mostly for looks, really.
C) While most of my builds don't require a specific set of armor, there a times and situations where I'll switch.

One to three 15k sets, depending on the character. I have each one set for a different attribute lines, and plan to eventually have one set for each attribute line.
If you're buying three sets for your rit, that's easy enough- set one for Communing, one for Channeling, and one for Restoration.

1.2 sets,currently striving for a third.
2.For both looks and Functionality.I have a Set of 15k Gladiator Armor for PvP and PvE use,A set of 15k Endgame Primevil armor with the Dreadnaught armor insignia for areas with high amounts of elemental damage, and I plan on purchasing a set of 15k Kurzicks with either Stalwart or Brawlers.I haven't decided yet.Or I might even get a second set of 15k armor so that I can use both.

#1. My Assassin has two sets of armour. None of my other chars have a secondary set yet.
#2. Different builds require different armour bonus. My Exotic Armour (coloured 'orange' but turned out brown... from before the dye change) is all Shrouded for extra energy. My 15k Kurzick armour (coloured magenta / pink, which has become my standard colour now) is Nightstalker for the armour bonus... I use the Exotic for my Illusionary Weaponry build and for pseudo-spellcasting in places where an ordinary assassin has trouble surviving.... and I use the 15k Kurzick for all the 'normal' Assassin stuff....
For what it is worth, I also have an extra Shadowy Mask of Superior Shadow Arts (Canthan 1.5k) for those incidents when I need uber-high Shadow Arts... e.g. for Shadow Form.
My Necro will be getting a second set of ascended armour when she gets far enough through Nightfall... as I'd like her to have a set of Minion Master armour as well as her standard SS (curses) armour.

That makes it seem like you are buying the armor because you want to have a special look to go with your builds... I buy it strictly for the functionality. I may have taken the quote a little too literally. Whatever, really.

Yes I do this often. Basicly because of the cost of runes and constant changing of builds for PvE I have several sets of armor.
For example:
Necro:
Armor for Biping calls for a 55 build so I can get to 1 Hit Point quickly for Bip.
Armor for Minion mastering calls for another set of runes all together.
Monk:
Armor for 55 monking
Armor for Bonding so I can maintain 14 bonds. 16 Prot 15 Divine etc..
Armor for normal Monking (Healing Protection etc..)
Armor for Smite Adventureing and exploring.
Warrior:
Armor for Obsidion Flesh Tanking and high STR req builds like hammer builds.
Armor for Tactical builds where STR is under 13 and I need high tactics.
Assassin:
Armor for normal builds (+15 when attacking)
Armor for high energy usage builds like deadly arts builds (+8 energy overall)
Ritualist:
Armor for Farming FOW (+10 when holding an item)
Armor for everything else (+8 energy overall)
Ranger:
One Set does me fine (+8 energy)
Elementalist:
One Set does me fine (+8 energy)
Mesmer:
One Set does me fine (+8 energy)
Paragon and Dervish
One Set for each (5 energy and +15 hp on these characters)

my main toon...ele has a few sets....none are complete.
I have different gloves for each of my attributes and they are all different armor types....I have one head piece with sup energy storage on it....I have different tops and skirts with extra armor vs lightning, cold, fire etc....and she has one set of boot (with sup vigor).
my main monk has 2 sets (one is 55 the other is normal) and a different head tat for each attribute (prot, smite, and healing)...
my main mesmer just likes to collect armor...she has lots of sets most with the same armor type ----got most of them before insignias and such.
most of my characters have almost 2 sets.....my rits each have 2 sets (they have a resto set, a communing set and then a channeling set). My necro has a mm set and a curses set, and so on.
I do like to collect armor, but I also try to make it useable not just another thing to take up storage (except for my mesmer ).

My Warrior has 4 sets of "main" armor (15k Kurz/Luxon/Tyrian Gladiator/Insgnia FoW), Glads stats with all of them having Stonefist Gauntlets since that's my usual stuff. I also have a Sentinal armor set for when I play something in PvP with high strength, which is more often than not a Hammer Warrior. Then I have a set of 15k Primeval armor with full survivor insignia's.
All efficiency stuff.
