Hard mode being account based is great news
Still would like to know as other posters if there will be hard mode elite missions?
Will there be a hard mode version of FoW armor, and DoA weapons. I'm telling you you can't go wrong with Titan weapons for DoA and an even sicker version of FoW armor + head gears for ALL classes at the armor crafter to match.
The new skins items will be the winners from the design a weapon contest, anyone want to bet?

I don't know how I'd feel about the FoW armor. I mean, it took me about a year to get the current set. And by the time I got the new set, GW2 would probably be well on it's way.

You think A-net has given out all the info about Hard More already? I highly doubt that one; I believe there are still some tricks up their sleeves in the next update.

Account based is good news, my main character (poor necro!) has finished all three campaigns. My second character just needs to do all the Fire Islands to be in the same position.
If you own more than one campaign, but haven't finished all three, can you access hard mode in the others?
Please can I have soul reaping back in hard mode?

Thankfully my Dervish has done the same. I *hate* Vizunah Square and only have three characters past there, the Dervish the only that has completed it. Though I really only want "hard mode" for Prophecies. *sigh* If the expected no scatter from AoE AI change happens and is extended into hard mode I guess I will have to get my smite monk through far enough (well, assuming that 55'ing works in hard mode - not that hard to add enough enchant stripping). But that is a *good* complaint

According to the statement no - you can not. That is par for the course with their idea of accounts being linked with different chapters. But then, you have one character that has done all three so why does it matter - second account? Of course we will see, until it is out take nothing as 100%.

No, it is still - by far - the best e-management of the game. I somewhat expect more nerfs to come down the line and always wondered why it took this long for the PvP'ers to abuse it, my necro doesn't need to do anything *near* what any other class needs too for energy. She can spam skills with little thought (down from no thought) whatsoever.

Question: Do you have to beat the game to unlock hard mode for ONLY that campaign? Or does it unlock Hard Mode for all other campaigns too?
Thanks.

- The best players should be able to take on Hard mode with Heroes and Henchmen. We do not guarantee success, but it is doable.
- Henchmen in HM have been buffed to have better armour, items, and their Elites.
Hope this is helpful.

That's awesome. It looks like it's going to be much more accessible than I expected. I'm really looking forward to this now.

It doesn't matter for me, but it will make a difference to who I can play with. My husband has only finished one campaign, for example. Some of my regular playing playing buddies have also only finished one.
I'm not interested in a second account. I have two characters that I play, and two that I never bonded with. It's enough.

And the PvE-only skills due with HM are what? useless byproducts? I didn't find a single official skill description regarding these yet. Can't wait.
As for me I got no problem. My main char is prot of all 3 campaigns. Time to own some high-level beasts.

Really glad hardmode is Hero and Henchable at least. Tons of pug players can't even/can barely beat the "normal" game (or not without dozens of tries first) even though a good player can easily Hero/Hench all of it on the first try. Letting anyone who beat the game into hardmode is just going to amplify the problem of bad pug players dragging whole parties down by a huge margin and causing numerous bouts of failure due to very stupid gameplay & skillbar errors on the part of said players.
I'm guessing that hard mode will be a lot more doable with Heroes than it will be with a typical, average pug --- as is already the case in normal mode.

I think it would be a horrible move on ANet's part to make it where you can't switch it off. You should be given every right to play the game normally if you want to and not be forced to play at a difficulty you found out you don't like.

Hell it doesn't even make much sense to have *any* character based req (like ascension). I'm currently working through Proph with a new ele and finding it painfully easy, even with a half team of heroes. Hard mode sounds exactly what I need, but it also sounds like I won't get to play it, until I've practically finished. What's the point? I'd have more interest in playing through with a new class then and, of course, the same problem...
I think the OP mentioned this could be a make or break feature... sorry Anet, but I suspect for me, it's going to be the latter.
|
So you would deny the extra content for those who have put forth much more effort than you simply because you aren't willing to take that extra step to achieve what others have? Sounds like a poor copout, and is an obvious declaration of your attitude which many PUGs suffer from. You still have much to do in your campaigns, so consider the Masters/Bonus in missions your bonus material, and once you achieve that, come by and take part in the extra features portion that is being offered to those who actually appreciate the value of hard work.

Huzzah! Too bad that's the only news for Hard Mode - the date that it's available.
