I just hope that isn't their answer to lesser used Primary Professions in PvE. Seems like a cop-out if that's the case, guess we'll find out in time though.
Charr homeland looks like Pre-Searing? Let's not wussify the Charr please.

I am interested to hear more about what a "multi-level dungeon" is because the way the interview put it, is that it will be a completely new mechanic. The more I hear, the less I think it will be like Tombs...

maybe i missed something but... where is that picture?

No need to carry it on.
I'm really worried about GW:EN. Its either gonna be a master piece or a total disaster. I hope its the first.

Did anyone notice that some of the enemy types look like those that were in the Factions CE art book?

I can't wait to get this game. Wonder if there will be a collector edition for this game?

I hope so. I also hope Anet includes a bonus item that will be transferable to Guild Wars 2....

From reading more information on GW:EN, it sounds like it's going to contain new storyline, armors and weapons for existing classes. Don't seem like there is a chance for them to put out a regular and collection edition for GW:EN.

I wouldn't expect too much at least area-wise. I think one of the earlier interviews mentioned that game will cost less since it isn't a stand-alone campaign, so I'd assume there will be much less content than in, say, Factions which is currently the shortest game of the three. But as said the price will reflect that too.

Yep.
I did a little investigation and the term "Ascalons" pops up in over a dozen quests.
So either ANET needs to get this straight or "Ascalons" is the right term to use.

Funny, everyone I know hates the grinding of those title tracks.
And sigh, confirmation that the craptastic PvE-only skills are nothing but power escalation.

Gramer has alot to do with it. there are no canthas, there are canthans. there are no elonas, there are elonians.
Seeing as every other group of people in the game use the right suffix, and the fact that ascalon is based on a midevil english world, it would make 100% sense that it follows suit and that they are called ascalonians.
Ascalons is such bad english that I still wouldn't say it even IF anet said thats their official name.
|
I think I'd have to agree with you there...'Ascalons' really does sound terrible english. I'd almost always assumed it was ascalonians and no dispute =s

Why would you think that?
It costs less BECAUSE its an expansion, not because its going to have less content. All expansions by default are much cheaper because you have to buy a core game.
Example: Everquest II would be the normal $49.99 and all expansions would cost $39.99. And that's because it would normally require people to pick up the original core game first. (There currently is a deal right now that gives you the core game and all of the expansions for $39.99.)
GW:EN has been in development for about as long as a Full Chapter. And since they don't have to recreate newbie areas, I expect it to be full of new content that starts at or near lvl 20.

Well there are plenty of counterexamples too, like Lord of Destruction for Diablo II, Brood Wars for Starcraft, Tribunal and Bloodmoon for Morrowind and so on. All of those had a decent amount of content but they weren't as big as the original game.
Anyway, it's pure speculation at this point. I think they are being cautious about their wording at this point so that there won't be an influx of "But they promised!" comments later. I like to keep my expectations low until some more facts are released.

Once people find out what carries over in the Hall of Monuments, will Anet allow people to "earn" them in the previous Chapters, and THEN "immortalize" them? Can we go back and forth? I can see "Monument-farming" happening in GWEN, and I have to say, I'm for it. I mean, suppose you were only a few (dozen) hours of farming/IDing for Gold Items before you could get the Max Title(s), but you REALLY wanted to see what your character would look like, RIGHT NOW? Suppose one of your alts doesn't HAVE any Titles, but they were your favorite character? (Hey, it could happen.)

Jeez, what did you do, dodge all enemies or something? I just played the game normally, did all the quests, and those titles kept up nicely. Never did I have to grind excessively just to proceed in the game.

I wouldn't say it's pure speculation. The official GW wiki lists 18 dungeon levels in just the first act...and there's 3 acts.

Everybody go to Gamespot right now and scroll down to the bottom on the main page: http://www.gamespot.com
It's #1!!! When was the last time a Guild Wars game was even on the top ten of anything on GameSpot? Occaisonally its in the "Coming Soon" section of PC at maybe above 5, but 1 overall in the whole site??? They didn't even generate that much hype! Sorry about me rambling on, just suprises me and makes me happier about Guild Wars as it is. Everyone go to gamespot and click on EotN, make its popularity rise! XD
