Why does someone 'deserve' the solo farming nerf? Oh wait they don't. Solo farming is obviously a source of enjoyment for a number of people, me included. It is something relaxing to do when you are bored, something to do when you need some quick cash, just...something to do.

I just mine, lucky for me I now have everything I want, so I get to laught all the "OMG im gonna quit this game" people. The increased the loot for hard mode and hopefully premote team playing rather than solo. There are more ways to make money that farming.

Kind of a harsh thing to say after reading all the posts, don't you think?

I agree that there should some form of deterrent for farming... But this seems a little harsh, even for me.

Perhaps ANet will review the Drop Rate again. Perhaps not. In the end, the decision is theirs.

explain why soloers deserve a farming nerf? is there anything wrong with trying to achieve something in a game? most people do it for better looking armor and weapons and everyone is capable of achieving it, solo farming being the faster way, specially for people who had only about 2 hours a day to play after work.

that's how it was for us, we would unwind after work by farming UW until the 25oct06 nerf sent most of my colleagues off to wow. at least there we can play as casually and still have fun.

see in gw, there isnt anything to do after youre done and hard mode isnt an answer to the lack of content. even wow doesnt exactly have endless content but at least you have your life skills to work on too. these are the baby steps that keep a game interesting and give you achievable goals that keep you entertained day by day.

Personally I don't really farm anymore so I don't really care either way, but it's something that I know many of my guildmates enjoy doing so it kills a lot of the fun for them. Guild leader can't be happy when his guild members aren't.

Alas, i had to edit the original Angry Nintendo nerd quote to avoid the red engine.

You solo farmers are all free to leave.

Us casual players will continue to have fun without you. It's not like Anet is going to go bankrupt because some few hundred angry video game nerds get pissed off and threaten to leave until they realize they can't leave because they are too addicted already.

Meh.

Wow, how many people have to tell you that obviously there are different ways of playing a game. At the moment, Anet is pretty much saying there is only one, which is a change from the way it used to be.
How can you argue about something that doesn't even effect you.. You obviously don't like to solo farm/were bad at solo farming/don't care about solo farming, so why comment on solo farming?

Btw, where did my other post on here go...

I used to hate Anet's nerfing stick, but I just accepted the updates like changing soul reaping and stuff, becuz whining about game changes doesn't help any1. Although I can understand your point a little, you should take into consideration they did this to make hard mode farming not too difficult to do. I actually can't wait to go farming on a 8 man trip now since solo farming is kinda not needed any more to get good loot. Be glad you don't need to spent hours playing ALONE for simple guild wars cash. Now you can finally farm with buddies without them becomming potentiol loot drainers. (sorry my greedy side) Seriously, to critice the update is 1 thing, but keep whining about is NOT needed.

Money is still easy as pie to get. Rare materials like Ectos, maybe not so much, but Money is still easy to get. If you need money, go open all the "Buried Treasures" on all your characters or go vanquish some areas in hard mode.

As far as I can tell, all this update accomplished is increasing the prestige of FoW armor and Vabbian Armor. That is all that the extremely rare materials are used for.

Conclusion: Quit whining people. This update is great.

Meh.

Ummm actually you're way off a$$hat, don't forget about all the extra accounts and char slots they sold(rip off) just so people can hold all their extra loot.

ANET just shot themselves in the left testicle and this is just a slap in the face after FINALLY expanding the storage. I'm not a hardcore farmer but I do it when I need some extra gold or materials for armor or what not so now this means I'm going to have to spend a lot more time on that, well why the hell bother anymore?

I've about had it with this shit4 brains operation called ANET. They always seem to find a way to spoil the fun and screw over their loyal customers in one way or another. No way I'm buying GW2, if I wanna get jerked around I'll find a $5 hooker.

Just give it some time and we'll see how bad/good it gets. Meanwhile, we have three campaigns to re-complete!

He means that the materials are harder to get. Therefore, more rare.

Farming was a legal and widely enjoyed style of game play!

What do u think PvE players did once they finished a chapter?, PvP were the elietest will only accept you if you have x-many fame.

No the started farming, your bored got nothing to do, your guildies are busy no one is GvGing or ABing... I know I'll farm.

Well now its just harder, takes alil more skill and we'll have to work at it but you know what solo farmers have survived nerfs before, and we'll survive this too.

Trying to lighten the mood a little, but I was in downtown Reno lately and was asked if I wanted a $2 one (by the tracks near one of the hotels). Save you a couple of bucks there. (and I didn't want to see what a $2 one looked like, either).

Personally, I didn't think the farming nerf needed to be added. Yes, their intentions are good for "money for all". However, we all enjoy the game in a different way. After all, makes it nice when I can go into a town and buy a green instead of chewing 3 hours to try to get the same one. Let the farmers enjoy doing what they like, too.

Ye I get that 1, but why in gods name did they become more rare? Is it an update feature?
