One nice thing about Tomes is it will make re-making characters alot easier. I know I'd like to update my cartoony Proph El to a more fleshed out NF El, but hate the idea of getting all those skills again. Depending on the drop ratio of the Tomes I might just be able to horde a bunch and re-make her in a much easier manner.

A lvl 30 minion (10-15 energy) which gives bleeding with each attack for necros.

A doppleganger-conjure spell which makes a copy of you and imitates your every skill usage for mesmers.

A "million blades" for warriors. (hits for 5 times)

An uninterruptable trap skill which is a combo of all other non elite traps for Rangers.

A heal party + blessed light combined for monks.

A mix of shadow prison and shadow form (without the loss at the end) for 'sins.

A new uber spirit for ritualists that protects and attacks at the same time.

A new "avatar of gods" for dervishes. a mix of all avatars into one. (pure carnage this one)

A new shout for paragons... "Un-nerf me!": every ally within earshot gets his attributes boosted by 5 for x seconds.

Man i'm dreaming....
There is balance for PvE. You can't just make any super powerful skill and assume everything will still be fun.

If sunspear title has new powerful pve skills these will be the side effects:
-Normal mode will turn from normal into easy if you use the new powerful skills.
-No one in the game will accept you into their party for hard mode (perhaps even normal mode) unless you carry those skills. Making players without Nightfall gimped.
-Hard mode might become too easy or frustratingly difficult with or without the new powerful skills. And most probably, you'll have to grind through to maxed sunspear before you can seriously start to play Hard Mode.

The skills you suggested would basically be the same as playing the game with cheats, which would definitely destroy all the fun.

wtf are you smoking? SoC are only 1000g. You are simply paying for the convenience of NOT going to cap the skill. I'd guess tome prices will settle in the 1500g - 2500g range.

say we already unlocked elite from priest, and we learn it from tome, we might need to pay 1k for the skill but do we still get the 5000xp like from signet of captures?
would be cool but i doubt it. it would cheapen beyond reason the survivor title. Plus, that ability is solely of the cap sig.

no need to give a bonus to teams, I doubt there will be many soloers. If there are: that's like promoting PvP over PvE; GW is meant to be good for multiplaying and solo playing, why promote one side with better features?

I'm pretty sure it's going to rely heavily on how rare/difficult to farm they turn out to be.

This sounds sweet. I hopw it comes tonight so I can play it before I go away! Well unless it is like DoA...

And I dont think Elite Tombs will go for too much more than 5kish. I mean, Sig of Caps still only cost 1k.

Also, I know most people know this but don't buy all the Rare Stuff right away! Prices will be really high because its new. (Remember Mini Pig Prices? 100k-10k in one day[before the giveaway at end of festival - then they were given away fro free])

I'm eagerly waiting to see just how difficult Hard Mode is truly going to be. The simple fact is that I will rarely ever be playing on Normal difficulty once it is released. A shame we're likely to not require a Ventrilo party to fight through Ascalon, though.

A Mesmer can dream, can't he?

I doubt the elite tome will give you XP or advance your skill hunter title track.

But I really really really hope the drop rate for those things is really high, because I'm pretty sure there's a HUGE demand for it.

LOL I was joking.

In seriousness I would think they would be a bit more than 2.5k until enough flood the market.

I wonder if party sizes will be up'ed in hardmode. Like in the low areas where you can normally only have four.

Then they would have to increase the mob sizes too?

If they don't increase the part size in lower areas HM will be a much bigger pain.

Groups of 8 will be coming from droknar's before we know it!

So...I trust the wisdom title track will count also, since that is incorporated into salvaging. I work on my wisdom track much more than my treasure hunter one.

I don't see why wisdom would be included, and when Gaile mentioned lockpicks earlier I think she only mentioned treasure hunter and lucky as well...
