Tehy should have either

1.) Gave us the armor shown above....

2.) or gave us a "White Mantle Armor" set

I mean cmon...look at them side by side and the ornate knights armor Barradin is wearing is by far the winner.
I can understand the philosophy behind giving certain NPC's awesome, unobtainable armor, but Baradin's looks SO cool..

White Mantle one looks plain awesome, but it would make no sense to wear it lore wise.

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that ANET is giving more options and attending to the "gaps" in the previous games, but they had Baradin's, and it looks great. Then again, who knows... maybe this one was sitting on the shelves, and they decided.. let's use it.. anyways, the Helm is cool.

Well....NPCs get better armor since they dont change armor sets. That and they need unique looks to stand out from players.

They are stuck to one set, so their UV mapping is a lot easier since theres no seams to map out.

This allows them to get "unique" looks that cannot be reproduced by our armors because our armors have SEAMS.

Look at the detailwork on hero armors. x.x

I think in order to get the detail we want, wed have to sacrifice being able to mix and match pieces.

I like it. I actually went out an bought a set. It's the only tank armour I like besides 15k plate (which was what I had before). I'm also thinking of making a female warrior just to get this armour. =D

As for the concept armour, they have some simularities. Plate and mail. Open faced helmet. No crest and no ribbed armour, but there are similar elements.

I think part of the reason why we're seeing stuff like new armour, the glad's helmet, hard mode, etc, is because of the switch from campaigns ever few months to GW:EN. Without having to invent a whole new campaign, they're creative teams now actually have the time to work on small projects like this.

Baradin is a duke...but he has armor nicer than the king and the prince, how did that work?

I still like the old school, when Starbuck was a man, viper pilot look of the Ancient armor best, but this knights set is actually pretty cool looking imo.

The only thing that bugs me is the legs. For some reason the legs on GW warriors always look wierd. It's like Rob Liefeld flashbacks, except nothing is that bad.

What is the point in releasing NEW armor with the oldest armor system in GW?

Seriously.

People asked ANet to uncouple looks and armor stats till we finally got this with Factions. Then ANet had a really good idea and introduced Armor Insignias and Inscriptions.

Now we have three different armor systems.

Prophecies - the most restrictive
Factions - make your choice
Nightfall - the most flexible

The most restrictive part is what was lamented since day one:

No +1 Weapon Mastery helmets for this armor. Just the usual Knight's +1 Strength helmet.

Thank you for adding this nice new armor, but a near miss is still a miss. Not going to buy this obsolete crap.

That means I just think it sucks now
