I have no clue if this has already been explained but the loot scaling was done for these reasons:
-Distribution of wealth. The majority of people who don't farm will now get more loot and wealth simply by playing.
-Discouraging farm bots. 'Nuff said.
-Encourage more PUGs and human teams in general. People have been complaining about lack of people to team up with. Now there's an incentive.
So who cares if solo farming has been nerfed. It has always been the lowest form of gameplay anyway.

Customers do, and if Customers arent happen Gw:EN wont sell , Gw2 Wont sell
And GW1 will fall apart from lack of money.
So what you should be saying is
Calm down, not Who cares.

Haha. Yes, to your doom and gloom prediction, I'll say calm down.
I'm seriously laughing at the thought of people deciding not to buy GW2 because of lack of farming...

Hard mode is fine and dandy, but for those of us who don't even have access to it, all these changes seem to turn this into a very different game.

You've had this game for two years and havn't beaten the campaign once on a character?

They'll get more by playing than they could by farming. They're not going to get more than they used to get by farming.

It won't, since the major obstacle to hardcore farming (boredom) doesn't exist for botting.

I don't know. I don't feel inclined to team more with people because I can't farm. If anything, I'll end up playing less because one activity that I spent time doing is no longer worthwhile.

The whole farming nerf...
You mean that I'm stuck with no money making ways besides running? That's not cool...and I just wanted to try solo farming the UW with my sin. I was gonna go ahead and sell all my stuff run Droks a couple of times...
Now the next thing that I actually was excited about doing is now gone...

Anyone else wish they would of given monsters eight skills, secondary profession and a more balanced group instead of just throwing an elite on there bar and giving them super abilities?
Or do you like things been harder by making the odds against you?
Just generally interested as I've been reading the forum for the last month or so in wait of hard mode and in relation to that, i saw most people post how they didn't want another DoA type thing.
Don't get me wrong I am very happy Anet added this I just feel it could of been so much more.
It is probably too early for me to comment on this as I have only been playing for half an hour, I just thought I would throw it out there

Oddly enough, I haven't played it those whole two years. I played it when I first got it, got bored after about a month, set it aside, other issues came up (because life happens) then started playing again when I bought factions a couple of months ago. So no, to your question, I haven't. And there are other people who haven't beaten the game. There are some people who do have lives, and play this just for a diversion. Aren't hardcore gamers or anything like that. Other people start a character and beat it quickly. We don't all play at the same level and speed.

Won't be able to run for very long either, some people get the money to Give runners From farming, if they no longer have that money the only way Runners can get money is from New characters which with a runner taking 3-4 chars there like 80-200 new chars a day
your profit is cut drastically than from the 200-400 new chars made by rich folks.

This will indeed affect how people look at GW2. Example: Lets say you buy GW2 and it is the coolest game ever, then in 6 months they totally change and nerf it. Now it no longer looks like the same game but has the same name. Bingo No more farming, no more solo farming. Even though the DEVs and Gaile said they have nothing against farming.

People who DONT farm arent going to miss anything now will they? The average player doesnt farm a whole lot. They just play the game. Remember the statistics that most people in the game only have 20k on average?

Time is the major obstacle not boredom. This will cut down their profits per hour.

well with the price of vabbian armor and the price of fow armor and even just the straight 15k armor... no farming. You don't get that sort of cash playing the game. People will play it through once or twice, then what's left - 'Oh I can't make cash for good armor so what's the point'
prices will go up but people can't afford stuff. This just sucks, I'm back to Wow. Thanks Anet I had been enjoying guildwars again - a bit of playing, a bit of farming to get my weapons and armor was fun.
This is one nerf too far for me and I'm not even a serious farmer, just like being able to make money for the highly priced armor. even max armor costs 15k in some cases with mats - oh yes and mats will rise in price with decreased drops too so make that 20 or 25k in a few weeks or month.
bye

Is hard mode just a money sink for people trying to get a chest title? 1.5k for a key, mandatory if you want to open a chest in HM, the % that you will retain it is pretty low, and the CHEST DROPS ARE NO BETTER THAN NORMAL MODE.

Is there not one day where you people don't overreact and jump to conclusions? It's hardly been a few hours and people are already proclaiming how it's impossible to get gold for their armor already. Can we get some sense back into this place?
