Sweeping generalizations FTL. You have no clue who 'has a life' and who doesn't. By your logic, even though i've been playing the game for over a year and a half, just because I have KOABD I have no life?

I would like to see campaign specific skill hunter titles only if the current one would be kept.
My idea would be that we will get lets say Tyrian Skill Hunter for all the tyrian elites and the international title would be the current skill hunter title, which is international anyway now.
So with the 3 current chapters we would have 3 max titles and one international that counts all the elite skills captured, like the skill hunter title does now.
With 3 new max titles, I dont think anyone would want an international max title, and if so will be case i think that the current names for the Skill Hunter title track would be nice to keep for the future international one.
Plus the way it is now, the skill hunter title track uses similar names as the treasure hunter title track, and if you look at the max level for treasure hunter you will see that the skill hunter title is not far from that max level.

The idea is a nice one - making everyone feel special in their own way - but I've got a concern.
Where do repeated elite skills factor into this title? That is, skills that you see on multiple continents - for example, it takes forever to get to "Elemental Attunement" in Tyria, but you can cap it in a heartbeat at what I consider to be the very beginning of Guild Wars: Nightfall (what a jip! ). Would a skill like this count for your Tyrian Skill Hunter title regardless of where you capped it because it's a Tyrian-based elite, or would it be added to the title based on what continent you captured it in?
I don't really know about this one. It's nice to make everyone happy and to fit us all in so that we don't feel left out - especially if we don't have all of the chapters of the game - but after working so hard to gain the current level of skill hunter (elite skill hunter ftw!), I think that adding "International" and campaign-specific titles would cheapen it to no end.
"International Skill Hunter" is somewhere along the lines of "International Man of Mystery" on the scale of a title I'd take seriously. Maybe it's just the word choice - international doesn't really make sense, since I never really refer to Tyria, Elona, etc. as a nation, given all the different groups within them - it would be like calling Asia a nation, despite the fact that on the continent there are many different nations. I've always known Elona, Tyria, Cantha to be continents more than nations (with the exception, perhaps, of Cantha).
There are MANY other issues that are much more important to be addressed in the three current chapters - and the upcoming fourth, I'm sure - than the renaming of these skill titles for the purpose of causing immense, but short-lived joy among certain folks

if an elite skill is cappable on all 3 continents then its classed as a core elite skill, not a campaign specific one surely.

Makes sense; how then does Anet suppose they will integrate a skill like this into the system? Would it count towards the title of the continent that it was captured on, as an interchangeable unit towards any given title, or would it start up a new title?
I'm just a bit confused on this because when I think "core" I think Guild Wars: Prophecies. So I'm unsure how a core elite would be approached on a non-core continent, especially considering that some individuals only have access to one Guild Wars installment which may not be Prophecies (eg. Factions, or Nightfall).
Beyond this, I do still stand under the banner of "this sounds fairly hokey," not necessarily in the breaking up of the skill hunter title for each individual continent, but in the "I'm dressing like an international skill hunter for Halloween!!" sort of way - international is more than a mouthful of whiz cheese.

Core does not equal prophesies, core equals core which by definition is common to all chapters. Just because Prophecies only had the core classes obviously doesn't make all of it's skills core. Just because a core skill is easier to get in one chapter than another is irrelevant to whether or not the skill hunter title for any chapter <can> be completed from within a given chapter which is the entire point of this whole thing - that you can't complete the thing.
I really don't think another title for core skill hunter is at all 'useful', I also don't see having to recap skills multiple times for different chapters... cuz well thats just ridiculous. For what it's worth I have 291 elites 'capped' on my title track many of which were gotten well prior to titles existing, its just that I can't help myself...I need completion. I'm not sure how to best actually implement this change, and obviously neither is A-net but I think it's safe to assume it won't ruin the game for everyone.

Like some who have replied sooner, I dont like the idea of changing the title track if it involves forcing me to recap all the elites. The best idea ive red thus far is adding the Tyria, Elona, and Cantha maxable tracks, but keeping the nonmaxable title track of Skill Hunter like it is. I personally enjoy showing off my level 5hehe

Seeing as how you can't cap an elite if you've already capped it on that character, there's no worries that you'll have to redo all your caps.
In your case, you would get max for Tyria, Cantha and Elona. And you would open an "International" Skill Hunter title track, with level 3 in it, maybe level 4 if they count all the Core Elite skills as a level.

I want to keep my current (international) skill hunter title. It's about the only PvE title that I really care to show off. The other titles, however, would be nice as I only have one KoaBD point so far, and they make it easier to see where I need to work on.

A title tied to all campaigns would be great, and the international one jsut makes it better.

If the skill hunter title changes to what is proposed, it will be the greatest improvement to the title system since the creation of a title system. In my experience I began this game in Tyria skill hunting for the enjoyment of it. With the release of Factions and the title system it seemed like the obvious choice for me having already capped around 60 Tyrian elites for my main character. But as time has passed I have also been trying my hand at KoaBD currently with 4/5 max titles. I still love my skill hunter title, but allowing it to compliment the KoaBD title line would be a vast improvement from our current state. I vehemently await this patch .

Truly KOFBD doesn't impress me as it is far too easy to get. There are a few titles that do impress me though: 1 Grandmaster Cartographer for any chapter. That one shows your dedication to getting into every spot out there and finding everything. 2 Drunkard title. Any level not so much because it is a gold sink but due to the shear time it take to get the first level. 3 Survivor. Dang got to be one of the hadest to get. There are others but these are at the top of my list. Making the Skill hunter campaign specific will make it more worthwwhile for me because I hardly go after elites. And I say Rank should be Character specific because hten it would be an accomplishment. As fame is now its a joke to me.

Old thread, but I was just thinking about spending gold on getting all of the elites, just for fun. It is somewhat disappointing that max cannot be achieved. I am much in favor of campaign-specific skill hunter titles. Or, if this idea has already been scrapped, I would be in favor of temporary maxes -- that is, allowing me and others to max out skill hunter until another "expansion." That would allow skill hunters like I will be to have a tangible reward on the way to kind of a big deal.

It's been over 2 months since this poll was generated and the results are overwhelmingly in favor of chapter specific titles. So, my question is, when is this going to be implemented?

Well, hopefully soon. And since they're working on titles, maybe we'll finally get Spearmarshall??? Sorry I can't stop whining about it.
