Default Boardwalk prizes are 375g. Don't pay more!

For anyone that doesn't know, boardwalk tickets sell for 15g each. You can trade 25 of them directly to the boardwalk prize NPC for a prize box. You don't need to gamble at all, just go straight from ticket sale to prize. Doing it this way, the cost of the prize is 375g.

I bring this up because I just saw a guy attempting to sell unopened boardwalk prizes for 1k each. The sad thing is, I even got him to follow me to Shing Jea, stood next to the NPCs and told them to look at their prices, and he still had the audacity to ask how many I was buying from him. Some people...

At any rate, I know most of the people that read guru are aware of scams like this, so I'd like to encourage you to help those that don't. If you see someone trying to sell for way too much, call them out in the chat. Whisper that you want to buy some, get them in your party, and walk out of town. Make it more trouble than its worth to try to pull stuff like that. Only you can prevent forest fires... and Guild Wars scams. Thanks

Just a more general remark:
It's sad to see that people can be quite mischievious, just for gaining virtual money. And for what purpose? To buy so-called 'better' stuff... Heck, I just enjoy playing the game and get quite wealthy by just fair trading and treasure looting

In my honest opinion, any form of scam that has been screened and reported should be dealt with harshly... Including this form.

this isn't really a scam. certainly a rip-off, but not a scam. they are selling you exactly what they say they are, and taking only what is agreed upon. If they want to try to charge a 600-some gold convenience mark-up, thats their choice. Some people will even have so much gold that they will take the opportunity and save a few seconds running back and forth...

And to be perfectly honest, if someone is rich and dumb enough to buy something without checking on it at all, then they deserve to be ripped off. score one for american free market.

Scam? He's selling something for a price higher then what it's worth. That's not a scam. That's someone who isn't going to make many sales. People can sell items for the price they want, theres no scam in that. This thread is quite pointless so I'm going to close it.
