Are the changes really a good thing.
I have been enjoying Guild Wars for year and a half. And I have seen alot of changes and for the most part I like the direction of getting rid of the bot farmers. But the way they have done this has killed off the casual gamer. The gamer should be able to go get any high end item like the rest but the way it is now, its all but impossible. I am saying casual gamer as in no more than 5 hours a week. Running is my primary money making, but for the people that were farming to make their money now cant cause they have lamed it off. And what you can still farm is being dropped so much that the prices have to be dropped. Its to bad that a few have to ruin it for others but things have to get better for the gamers that dont live in the game.

High end items dropping more is making it so casual gamers have less chance to get one?

You get better drops in hard mode where everyone has gone to solo farm. the high end drops dropping more often as loki refered to dropped more often there, not in normal mode.

You can't have both faces of the arguments.
People who love hard mode say its for the hardcode gamer and tell the casuals to stop whining.
People who love farming say that the farming has now shifted to hard mode and you make more money now due to rare drops.
But if hard mode is not for the casual gamer, but it is the new way to make money, I don't know what ANet is doing anymore.
I started playing the game a few months back and it has changed enough times in those few months to make me feel that pretty much the game is being changed way too much from time to time.
Oh, and bots will always find a way.

I was just out Farming some SS & LB points in the Desolation on HM, and got 5 golds in about 10 mins. I've also gotten a few greens since the loot Scaling too. It's just the luck of the draw really. Oh and I was in a full party of 8 all those times.

IMO, hard mode definately isn't for hardcore gamers only.
Vanquisher is for hardcore gamers. Guardian not. And you get loads of golds every mission in hard mode.

I don't think Hard Mode is ONLY for the hardcore gamer, I think it's for the SMART player. When I say smart I mean, you're not gonna aggro 5 groups at once then wonder why you died so fast, you're willing to change your build up because the one you where using won't work. You know how to pull small groups, ect. ect. If you are in a party, if you are the tank, Aggro 1 group at a time and keep it on you, if you are a caster, stay back until the tank has all the enemies on him then go in an kill. The only real difference from HM to NM is now you HAVE to play smart, and not just run ruffshot over everything while you are watching TV and eating pizza.

ive had 3 sup vigs before hard mode (sold 2 kept one). But now with hard mods around most rare things have plummeted yet there is no way to keep up in normal mode. I doubt a-nets logic in killing casual gamers.

Myself, I wonder whether another thread on the same topic saying the exact same thing is really a good thing.

No offense, but it takes more than that. All my experiences in hard mode - well, most of them - have just been embarassing. I change my build, I pull as carefully as I can, and I still get slaughtered. I don't mind that Hard Mode is hard, I'm glad that all you people who enjoy it have something to do, but you've lost some perspective.
Maybe eventually I'll be able to enjoy hard mode, but it won't be for a loooooooong time.

I don't change my build, I pull not with the great care, and I have no problem with Hard mode.
Odd.
Have you tried playing with actual players?
I did Nahpui quarter with guildies last week, and we breezed through everything. Every mob dropped at least 2 purples. We got a total of 3 celestial weapons. I think we had 3 deaths, or less.
Good monks help a lot.

Changes are always bad, no matter how, where or why. Fact of life: human psyche is wired to fear changes, and as such fights against them.
Also, these recent changes didn't get rid of bots. They just gave them dozens of new incredibly profitable locations, including UW, that can now be ran by bots.

Lol you're actually making his point. Besides, Naphui is cake, try Vizunah, Unwaking Waters or Eternal Grove and then come and tell us hard mode is easy.

IDK I did a run on Sorrows in normal today just with henchies and got 2 greens... so I personally think if anything it made it easier for common people to get things thus increasing supply and making demand drop and as such prices became realistic. Same is true of Ecto, All the gold farmers are having a B!tch of a time supplying their webpage vendors with product, so they have no choice but to sell off their stockpiles to NPCs to meet their quotas. LOL which is good all around for everyone. Its pulling ectos OUT of the market place and reducing the amount of gold available in the game overall to the cheaters. Nothing better in the world IMHO, I think Anet agrees. Cause I know of at least three that are giddy over the current results.
This is what they always intended for their game before it got way way out of hand with the inflation and gold resellers... Now that its not as affordable to buy massive amounts of gold and its a lot harder to get vast amounts of it over night with bots... well, the game play is finally balancing out for both farmers AND general populace and the market it correcting itself. With demand so low its just as easy to go get it yourself as it is to go and waste gold for it. Indeed it is probably easier now then ever before to get what you want without having to shell out a ton of gold for it.
This does one thing. It supports PLAYING the game. What more could be better for a game then to support playing it?

Heh, good for you, I had to manage with 3 live people and 5 NPC's, too bad you can't steal friends. You must admit though that for a casual player with not too many in game friends things like Vizunah are a tough cookie. Especially since peope playing HM are hard to come by.
