Only time I didn't get golds was when I was getting tomes.
You have to open chests in the right places people.

Hmm... most of the places I was playing were end-game or elite missions on hard mode. Those usually drop mostly golds anways -- I was just expecting the quality of the drops to be better. Most of the time it was R13 merchant fodder.

The weekend didn´t affect the quality of the drops, only the chance of getting a rare (gold,not rare skin).

Anyway, my stats looks something like this:

4 maybe 5 purple out of normal mode chests (mostly kurzick and luxon) rest gold (opened about 40 of those)

3 normal tomes from HM chests, the rest golds and elite tomes, opened over 100 chests in hard mode, got enough back by selling them (including a req 10 fellblade) to get back atleast half of what I spent on lockpicks, and since I was going for the title thats acceptable (still got some pretty good items left to sell too).

Req 9 Briar Blade.
Req 9 Guardian Branch.
Req 9 Banded Spear.
16 other Req 9s.

1 Perfect Sundering Mod.
5 Perfect Fortitudes.
3 Perfect Enchantings.

6 Elite Tomes.

1 Req 11 ELEMENTAL SWORD.

I'm very happy with this weekend. i got to 1,004 on my treasure hunter and 819 on wisdom.

After being all excited for the weekend event, I ended up logging in for maybe 10-15 minutes and opening a grand total of two chests. (But they were both golds! Wow!

) I only really play on weeknights, so I've been missing out on all of this stuff. It would be nice to have an event take place during the week now and again. There are too many other awesome things going on during the weekend for me to sit down and play!

Anyhow, I'm glad some of you guys finally saw some weekend benefits. "Special events" over the last few weeks have seemed awfully lame.

FFS I had work this weekend, like I have every weekend, because im contracted to work WEEKENDS! Why cant these goddamn events last for a full week?

I didnt count the chests but I and my party memebers opened quite a few and I only saw 1 purple the whole time. I saw 3 regular tomes and the rest were golds of some sort. All this was hard mode in the ss/lb farm area.

Didn’t count the chest I opened but got about 30-40 gold drops over the weekend, (about 3 worth keeping, and 10 given to guildies), and 24,000 towards maxing out LB.

Opened probably 30-40 chests in HM over the weekend, noticed very little change in the quality of the drops but did get one sup vig rune which is probably the first one I had ever gotten in a year and half of play. Interesting thing was I got 1 lock pick all weekend which was definitely not any better then normal.

Lol, someone got lucky. And Guardian Branches, Banded Spears and Briar Blades are actually worth something?

Yes great weekend. I opened about 300 chests and got about 200 golds-- Im not suprised because i did NM in Whitmans Folly as im going for chest running title.

Is the event over??? In the past 24 hours I've gotten 3 sup vigor runes from vanquishing Cantha and 2 of them were in consecutive chests! I dont think I got 3 sup vigs in a whole year before that.

No, not really, those are the one i could remember cuz i sold the rest lol.
