I actually had quite a bit of fun with my old guild on the previous Double AB Faction weekend... we had over 8 million faction by the end when we were usually pathetic ABers.

Hopefully this weekend will be fun as well.

It's a lot harder to read sarcasm than it is to hear it with voice tones...

Not so unfounded at all imho. The last AB event I played had unbearable wait times such that I didnt play much of it. Was actually as fast to simply play during normal times - play more, idle less - despite the double faction.

Looking forward to it anyway.

Since i just discovered how easy (and boring BUT mostly easy) it is to leech there and since A.net doesn't do ANYTHING about it - it has to be right! So if you can't beat them - join them!

Here's an update on this weekend's bonus. We have to update the game, but that involves 11 different languages, so I thought I'd give you the heads up now.

We've changed the weekend in order to encourage more meaningful play. Here's the message that will go into the game tomorrow:

Alliance Battle Benefits – Updated!

This weekend, you'll get the standard faction reward for alliance battle kills, and greatly enhanced Kurzick/Luxon faction rewards for all wins. Instead of receiving 250 Kurzick/Luxon faction for winning a match, victorious teams will receive 2000 Kurzick/Luxon faction. The bountiful rewards start at Noon Pacific Time on Friday and end at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Sunday, June 10.

Well obviously this weekend will be filled with waiting till games are finished. Servers can handle X ABs at a time, so thatll be waiting for 30 mins, game, wait again. I think you would get more faction the normal way.

The 2k factions would most likely be added to compensate the long waiting time between matches.

Great move from anet to take incentive away to leach, still people will do it, but it might incite people to go for the win as well i hope. Maybe ill dip in just to check that out.
