most people are sunspear general, tyria/faction chars maybe a rank less. so most are would have maybe 70% effeciency, and we dont know how the skills ramp up.

i find it hard to belive people who play multiple char (5ish) all have rank 10 sunspear.

give pugs a boost, i miss the soical interaction tbh

It's a lost cause to try and increase Pugging - heroes had little if anything to do with it. It was lost well before the release of Factions, the only thing heroes did was extend the life of the game for those of us that do not PUG.

Unfortunately it will be some time before this reality sinks in to many players and Anet, not sure what it will take. I play games to have fun, I do not have fun with PUG's - there are MANY more like me than the ones who demand PUG'ing. Witness the sales of Nightfall and when people ask which campaign to get the answer.

Those that want to PUG do so, those that hate them will not and there is little that is going to change it. Not only that, but a larger player base is still going to result in more PUG's - even if the majority of the players mostly hench/hero the game they will still PUG every once in a while. You can not force grouping - people will simply leave for another game.

*shrug* I've been almost pure hench from day one (a few months after Prophecies release), I'm used to being excluded from quite a few things even if I do not like it (I would love to be able to play the UW and FoW), the core game I liked is still there. While allowing an AI player a few more things would greatly improve our enjoyment of the game, it's not going to happen anytime soon.

(but doesn't expect it. sunspear rebirth has set the trend)

Arguing that "it will encourage people to make parties" i think misses one of the good things about guildwars.

The whole idea of henchmen was that if you want you can play the game by yourself. Being forced to play with others (who are non-existant at 3am lets face it etc.) is just gonna take away part of the game that a lot of players like.

Not everyone has beaten all campaigns with all characters you know. You cant expect your team to have "elite skill X" when you are pugging in an area before that skill is available. . . .

In that case, can you blame people for not using PUGs? As I've said, I understand why heroes can't use them, but I would really love to have the extra versatility and power from them; it would make hard mode much easier to do with henchies.

The idea that people are going to PUG at all - ever - because of Sunspear PVE skills, is completely ludicrous. It will not ever happen. Other than in hard mode, where they already PUG anyhow whenever possible.

Someone who does not want to PUG in normal mode will never think: "Oh gee, if I PUG with some newbies then I will suddenly succeed where me and my Heroes could not due to the newbies' leet Sunspear PVE only skills! Better start PUGGING from now on!"

Therefore it is not a "reason" to keep them off of Heroes because it is not actually, in reality changing anything whatsoever to keep them off of Heroes. Other than to annoy the players who use Heroes, which is absolutely the only effect on players that keeping Sunspear PVE skills off of Heroes has.

only difference is....sunspear skills are feasible and not some over exagerration like celestial skills and scepters of armageddon....basically just making heroes have equal skills as us.

I see no reason why Hero's should not be able to use them since you use Hero Skill Points to unlock the skills and you can team with real people who have them so it isn't over powered if Hero's do as well. It only opens more options for players in them having fun playing the game.

Heros are fine the way they are. It'll give incentive to party with people for the fun little skills. If you don't like partying with people there's no change so why the fuss?

I have eight rank 10 sunspear characters, and two more rank 9.

But then, I also don't pug.

And as I'm never going to pug anyway... anet should let heroes use the new skills

What is wanted is completely irrelevant. What is wanted is a NPC that gives free plat.
Sarcasm is funny when its based on a stupid premise. And giving skills based on titles to heroes is a retarded premise.
Why don't they have lightbringer skills? because it would ruin the game. Same situation.
