Dragon Festival 2006 June 30, 2006 7:00 GMT – July 5, 2006 7:00 GMT 2007 Coming soon?
Howdy, I recently remembered we had a dragon festival and I checked up on the date.
Seems like it corresponds with next weekend, so I'm hoping we'll have a weekend of dragontastic fun.
I would like to see some opinions on the way it went last year,
#1 Nine Rings, Twelve Rings removed: I wouldn't like to be stuck in these rings again, they shouldn't tempt people to not do the enjoyable festival games ,prepare for the Finales, the fun quests we get and collecting festival goodies.
#2 I would like to see better rewards in the Mini-games, more Skills Title Track points or just a reward for winning and losing, 1 Rice Wine/Red Bean Cake for a loss and 5 for a win.
#3 More official information on the hat, since it was quite annoying last year telling people how to acquire that excentric piece of headgear. A few good links wouldn't be harmful either.
#4 Having the issue of the cloned Emperors fixed
Comments Anyone?

We already had the piggie festival, so I dunno we'll have to see. They might to something, though, be it Canthan or Elonian or otherwise. We haven't had a celebration in awhile.

I've really been hoping they do this, it's the one festival I missed last year and if they have one around this time, then they have four festivals placed pretty evenly through-out the year, so it does make sense. Hopefully they'll announce a date soon.

They should stop changing the festival hats, not like I don't have both versions already, but give those folks who've missed the earlier ones a chance to get one this year.
But I bet there will be hoards of people whinning, that they want a "new" hat this year...

The reason they make new hats is so that everyone has some reason to go to the events. If they were just the same hats, then I doubt there would be as many people at the events.

And then there will also be hoards of people whining that if everyone gets the same hat this year, it "cheapens" the hat because there's more of them and then it's less "special". :P
I swear, it doesn't matter what happens, someone will whine about it. Me, I'll be happy with any sort of festival, new hats old hats no hats as long as there's shiny lights hanging up.

and again.
hypothetically thinking here...it could be that cantha's dragon festival is kinda like the chinese new year---never quite happening on the same calender date?
But methinks that since the crew is working on both gwen and gw2 and all those weekend events that the dragon festival took a really really far back seat-----
would be nice to get some more lucky points so I hope they do one again sometime this summer (winter for you southern hemi folks).

i need around 200k to get me through the afk weekend.
and with the loot scaling in effect i am nowhere near that.
so please wait a bit more with the afk holiday!
ohh and just saw - how about if we remove all other games but the 9 rings?
just so that ppl don't get distracted by other meaningless activities!
/rolleyes
if you don't want to do the Rings - dont do them. for me personally - they are simple the only weekend thingy (apart from the multiple-greens weekend) that i actually like participating in!

I really hope there is a Dragon festival. My necro is Tyrian born and is .9% away from canthan grandmaster cartographer, and I need to get into the festival area to map.

it would be easy for them to re-enable the boardwalk and games .-.
but it was the quests that made it fun, imo.

Agree with what Lyra said, but for me, I don't care about titles, I'm like 10k away from lucky (level 2) because of chest running, so I hope they do do quests like with the Chinese New Year / Wintersday (Forget if the Halloween had any), and I started in July/August after the Dragon Fest last year, so not sure if they had festival specific quests, so those that don't do 9-rings have something to do besides just standing in a district waiting for prizes.

I was hoping they would have the festival this year. I missed it last year. So far it's not looking like we will get one though.
