When will they actually fix this favor system? For something going on in PvP that affects PvE is pathetic. Europe has the majority of the players and it shows by how long they get favor for. I mean, maybe America may get it like at midnight (est), but not many people are gonna stay up that late with jobs and school. Korea, Japan, Taiwan never seem to get close to winning favor, although I did see Japan have it once. But does Europe really need the favor all the time.... even when it's three in the morning over there?

So they add these passage scrolls. My thought is... who is gonna have all these scrolls, and who is going to be buying them all. It's gonna be the Europeans making profit off of these scrolls (along with ectos and stuff) and everyone else buying them. So lets say a solo farmer buys 1 UW scroll for 5k to do a smite run. He goes and gets and ecto and a few drops, selling the ecto at 5k and the cheap merchant drops he only makes a small profit, unless he gets lucky and gets some good drops or a UW scroll (which he would probably for himself).

The thing is, the european farmers and their economy are benefiting so much and the other people from american and the other countries won't be as rich. Especially since the number of gold drops from farming other areas drops way down after its been farmed a few times. This favor system needs to be fixed so its fair for everyone.

They've got access scrolls now. I think that's as much "fixing" as anet wants to do. Though the urgoz and deep scrolls are alot easier to get.

They aren't going to change it, there are many threads like this, and what do you hope to accomplish with them? They added scrolls, they aren't going to redesign one of the primary game mechanics(however inconvienent it may be) this late in the games life.

Seems to me you answered your own question. The favor system is fine and for those that don't play when their country has favor can use those scrolls. Now I shall ask a mod to close this as there is probably 15 more like it.

The favor system was initially hearlded a gimmick, intended to interweave PvE and PvP, as ArenaNet had once planned.

Look what happened now.

Over time, it pretty much became a PvP vs. PvE game where there is always one arguing over which takes more skill and whatever else. Zinger is right, the line between the two is thicker than ever before. A-Net won't be doing much more about this, I think passage scrolls are fair enough.

At least America gets favor, look at regions like Korea, Japan, and Taiwan who ultimately never see favor for very long.

I had exactly one drop for me. When HM first came out and I vanquished on Newbie Island in Elona.

I haven't seen another drop at all.

It's great for Australians playing on the american districts ^^. I basically log in and we always got favor. It is kinda unfair to Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, I rarely see them with favor also.

Very rare. They only drop from bosses.

What reason is there to close it? It's not hurting anybody. It's not like there are 5 other threads with the same subject being actively discussed right now. Just because an issue has been brought up before doesn't mean it can't be brought up again. Stop being an ass.

No, they drop quite regularly from HM chests.
Just take lockpicks, vanquish some areas and you will see some of them dropping from chests.

Regularly ? I think Not

I have done my fair share of farming in hard mode (gok & collossal ) also I've vanquished a lot in Nightfall, and using a lot of lock picks. In total I've gotten 1 Underworld scroll. Now if you could sell them at the scroll trader, and they could be in stock, that would be an improvement.

Nope, it'll never get changed. It's been this way for 24 months, and changing it now would be silly. They'll just wait for GW2, and make all the changes people have been begging for in that.

What's funny is, one could say that storage was the same since Prophecies launched, but check out the new redesign that gave us more space.

Or the new mechanics of Soul Reaping, after almost 3 years of being perfectly fine.

Not primary mechanics? OK, what about HoH and the "now it's 6v6, now it's 8v8, and here are some new map objectives."

Just because something has not changed yet is not a good reason not to change it. I personally hope that after enough of these threads, ANet will get the point that favor is inconvenient for players, divisive for the community, and a detriment to their game. Then, maybe, they'll remove it and we can all celebrate in FoW, regardless of region.

It's a no win situation, put a post in one of the 15 other threads and you get flamed for resing and old thread... Make a new one and you get flamed for making a new one when there are 15 others that you will get flamed for posting in... :P

On Topic, I have been playing for 5 months now and still have no clue why PvP effects PvE and so on...

I would say they need to have a strict split between the 2 and enforce their changing rules on PvP and leave PvE alone...

I still remember when Korea and America took favour a combined 90% of the time and Europe had to do without and we were powerless to do anything about it.

My mother is renowned for her wise statements such as: "Tough S**t," which I think applies here.

I don't believe the favour system has created diverse wealth margins between Europe and America or at least that's what I see.
