Morrowind's a fantastic game, be sure to look at the fabulous user mod community. It's not at all the same genre as GW (variety is a good thing), being an immersive first person RPG as opposed to a tactical third person action RPG.
I'm looking with some hope towards Hellgate and some other upcoming titles, but I'll definitely buy and enjoy EotN as well. As far as purely online games go, GW's the only one I really enjoy and keep coming back to.

Looking forward to fury and SC2 the next MMOrpg i get into would prolly be GW2 cause despite what fury devs say, fury is gonna be more of halo with swords than anything.
playing through oblivion Elderscrolls, and quite alot of Dota Allstars to fill my gameing time, the rest of it is taken up with getting ready for my first year of colledge and working.

I play GW about once a week now. When GW:EN comes out, I'll do what I need to do in order to get my 8 toons through the game. Then I'll wait for GW2. Not really interested in anything coming out.

Switching games temporarily
I moved off of Guild Wars for a while to a static single player called Oblivion - good fun, haven't played it in a while though too. I really need a better PC. I look forward to GWEN, and GW2. I can't wait to turn into a bear with GW2 - shapeshifting fun for me!
In the meantime, the thought of returning to Tyria and seeing some of the green lands farther North of Tyria makes me excited - so much so I wrote a story about the last few months before Searing.

While i became bored with PvE where there's nothing to do really, i found a very nice place to move to - PreSearing !! An awesome mini game in the big GW game, a separate world, an economy without perfect max items, no inscriptions, rarity still exists, and of course character development!
The recent addition of the Charr Salvage Kit made me look seriously at this world, and was enough to get me really interested. Something to do while not pvp'ing, untill GW:EN comes.

I for one stay in GW, waiting for GW:EN
With my history of MMORPG playing - Guild Wars seems to be a sort of a perfect game.
It's most amasing point is that you don't have to be a lifeless addict to do well in it.
Most other games, by default, require you to waste a huge amount of time playing to be somewhat competitive (using the good old loot block in most cases)... GE is not the case - you can have max equipment really easily and an ability to make a PvP only character with premade equipment is a powerful tool. You basically do not have to oblidge youself to playing some one "main" character.
Also most other games come with a monthly fee, while by itself it is not much of a problem, it implies that game devs will do everyting to drag you down into months upon months of grind to keep you paying them - look at WoW - the game is good, no doubt, but unless you spend a huge amount of time in it grinding same instances and arenas - you will have a pitiful existence in a shadow of more powerful (better equipped) no-life players. and then they do some expansion and make you start the grind all over...
In some games getting to max level is a real pain - take Lineage 2 or Ragnarok, for instance, you need to mindlessly grind for months, before you get to the max levels one one character there - rerolling is not an option...
Also another amasing part in GW is professions flexibility - while in most other MMO's you choose a class and you basically eventually recieve a fixed skillset to use on it - here you can multiclass and nearly completely rework your character to make it unique and work in a completely unexpected ways. GW has hundreds of skills to help you with this. Also a 8 skill limit makes a gameplay easy (as you don't need dozens of macros and shortcuts to use your character effectively, like in let's say, WoW) and provides a challenge in creating a good character builds.
And more! Henchmen and heroes are an amasing tool for which helps you to easily gather a basic party to do your bidding - you don't need to look hours upon hours for the right cplayer classes to join you to do some basic stuff...
With all this - this game is extremely casual friendly, does not require you to devote your life to it, very flexible with character management and has a very good PvP in it. No reason to switch it for anything else, unless that anything else has a GW style at it's base.
GW is surely not the end-of-all ultimate MMORPG, but it has a HUGE amount of amasing and unique stuff in it that really places it on the other level that that of the most MMORPG games...
And... it cured me of my interned addiction somewhat - lately I am able to concentrate more on RL, which was unthikable when I was playing WoW and Lineage 2, before that...

After 4 months in lotr online i come back today for some pvp.(miss that)
Tried some ra (since im 2 gladiator points away from 3title), and i have to say. the community in gw has become even worse than when i left it. im not comming back for gwen or maybe even gw2.
The first 4 matches we had 1-3 leavers. (same old, no monk no play. i got maybe 40 of my glad points in teams with no monk).
Then the dirt throwing and noob calling (not to me, but some other poor fella).
After 4 months in lotr i dont think i even have seen the word noob in any chat. or dirt throwing out of role play perspective. try rp in gw, and ur beeing chased down like a rabbid dog.
Its a shame realy. i have played over 3000 hours in gw since the start and liked it a lot in the beginning. but now all my friends have left for lotr or wow, only a few hardcore left, but they only pve. (was tired of pve when i had dragged my 7 char trough all chapters in game.)
Good luck to you all , and i hope the community improves or i dont see any bright future for this game.

Well, my list is kinda like this right until the end of the year (in no particular order):
Guild Wars (OBVIOUSLY)
StarCraft (while I wait desperately for StarCraft II)
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (YAY! DOOM3 ENGINE)
Supreme Commander (Seriously, it's actually really good)
Fury (Once it's out)
Tomb Raider Anniversary (I just have to finish it)
F.E.A.R. (Online and expansion included)
Possible alternatives:
Tabula Rasa
Aion:Tower of Eternity
ShadowRun (Microsoft charging PC-Gamers for Gold Live PISSED me off)
Crysis (It looks AMAZING)
Unreal Tournament 2007 (UNREAL 3 ENGINE FTW!!!)
Age of Conan (It just might turn out to be interesting)
HOWEVER, above all, I have to concentrate on my ACADEMICS.
PS: If you want to have a lan connection with a friend, download HAMACHI, it is the best thing when someone doesn't have Battle.NET for example, and wants to play StarCraft with friends over the internet. Just Google it.

I never got the impression that mass amounts of people are leaving, ive recently started playing even more now that I am getting in PvP more and accomplished most of my pve goals (need torment shield and fow armor yet). I really dont see a mass amount of peop,le leaving, I just think of it how my friends say when we get drunk "paranoia is setting in."

Haven't even updated my GWs in 2 months. I'm pretty much spending most of my time with my friends. I might stick around when GW:EN comes out, at the moment, I'm really looking forward to Cabal.

Well I gave up on GW over six months ago and joined Eve Online. As a huge fan of David Braben's Elite (which I played on a C64) I was delighted to find a really enjoyable space trade/fighting game.
The guy who posted that the Devs cheat does not know what he is talking about. Never trust forum rumor. And the penalty for getting killed is that you have to buy a new ship (the insurance money from your old one is a big help). If you dont buy a medical clone or insure your ship....

Probably Hellgate: London. The unofficial release date looks to be at least a month after GW:EN, so I can finish GW and move on to HG:L in one quick swoop.
