a 1v1 dueling arena would be sweet. i kinda use the guild scrimmage for that but some kinda simple dueling would be nice.
(and enough with the tired pve vs pvp crap. it's old, inaccurate and boring. i have my opinion too but i'm keeping it to myself. though i guess we should call it pvevpvp...maybe then it would cool...then the pve+pvpers could comlpain that complaining got nerfed or something and it's all the pvevpvpers' faults.)

What is PvP content? I mean seriously...you get new skills, new maps, new heroes, new professions, and new play types maybe...other than that is there anything? Just like every one of the campaigns this expasion will probably offer the same bag (minus professions but pve doesn't get that either)...so it's up to you whether or not that's worth the price.
The campaigns and expansions are primarily for PvE players because our content runs out after a while...whereas PvP content is generated all the time...by other players. The "metagame" is your constant infusion of content...changes in the "metagame" are the changes in your content...the constant changing of tactics is what changes your game. If you are not satisfied by that and the additions made with additional PvE centric expansions (campaigns and expansions)...then maybe you should find something else to play.
Yes the campaigns and expansions are PvE-centric...that is the nature of the beast...it is something to offer PvE players so they will continue to play the game.
PvP and PvE are two very different beasts....just like "balance" in pvp is very different from "balance" in pve...."content" in pvp is very different from "content" in pve. Really it all comes down to this..."balance" is more important to PvP and "content" is more important to PvE.

New Gimmick builds will be delivered unto you, you just have to get a head start and study the new skills and see how you can break through the "balance" and have a few days of Ha and GvG control before people observer mode yous' build and it gets stolen.

Factions-AB,Fort aspenwood, Jade quarry - not so much pwnege, but still decent.
nightfall- Hero Battles..... yeahh......
eye of the north- hopefully a boxing arena, and a polymuck arena.

Hero's have nothing to do with PvP anyways. Same with Alliance Battles.

it would be nice to see skills that are anti - gimmick meta.
Example monk elite:
Shield of attunement:
Cost: 5E
Time:1/4
Recharge: 7 Seconds
Elite enchantment spell. For 20 seconds, the next time target ally takes damage that ally gains +20...75 armor against the type of damage taken for 5 seconds.
Fun way to stop burst sins and rit spike eh ?

The question is not 'what will GWEN bring to PvP?'. Its 'How long till Anet sort out the major imbalances caused by the new GWEN skills?'

Seriously I wish they would bring in a REAL 1 v 1 arena not this lame hero battle stuff where 99% of people are running the exact same builds all day

What is PvP getting out of this? More balance. Thanks to PvE skills, they don't have to worry quite as much about keeping skills worth using for PvE while keeping the everchanging PvP arena balanced.
.. Of course, this balance will only come after the initial overpowered skills are fixed. >_>

Its called a Scrimmage. And 1v1 is more lame than HvH, its not even remotely balancable and relies entirely on your build, not skill.

Who cares. About time the Pve got some attention. I am so sick of the PvP players winning about ele skills maybe with now we can have an ele that is worth taking out of storage!

I believe this is the case as well. I think they want to do PvP updates on a general level, meaning that they don't want to restrict it by making it campaign specific.
GWEN will also allow access to Hero Battles as well for those who didn't purchase Nightfall.

They will add things that PvPers don't need: new skills, new skins, new maps. It should be obvious that they would focus on PvEers, they are the main source of income. PvEers thrive on new content, new chapters/expansions/free updates provide that content (and Anet makes money). PvPers don't need to, their content changes when a new build is developed (and they get free updates, where's Anet's money? Well if you want to keep up with the rest, you buy the new skills).

Am I the only one thinking it's kinda amusing with all the anti-"pvp elitist" elitism going on?
